I have gone through the whole video, rather I am seeing this course from its first session. I am an experienced Chartered Accountant from Pakistan . The method followed in this course up till now and the way Mr. Parth takes through every step is impressive. Great course for someone who is new to financial modelling. Most importantly he is following the international norms of modelling like hard code color and first column width adjustment. From that I knew the person knows the stuff. His communication skills are also good and he knows how to keep the audience engaged in a course which could quite often get boring. Overall one of the best courses on financial modelling.

    Thanks for the informative video.
Note: Screener considers change in inventory as "Closing - Opening", that is why we are reducing the same from cost of production, to achieve COGS. Whereas, in Schedule III or any other standard format of a profit and loss account or a cost sheet, we take change in inventory as "Opening - Closing" which automatically gives a negative figure if there is closing stock at the period end that is more than opening, and ultimately reduces the cost of production to achieve COGS.

I have a doubt: when calculating cash flow after extracting data from the screener, the net cash flow value doesn't match the net cash value on the data sheet. Why is that?"

Changes in Receivables, Inventory, Payables in Cash Flow Statements are included individually and as Net in the line item WC changes. That's why there's the difference of 100 in Cash Flows at 1:13:48. Screener nets the changes in WC and also shows individually thus when copying the Cash flows from screener, it feels like it is a separate item but it is not.
    Absolutely love this series!!

Good Evening Sir, usually it is a general practice in the industry to extract data from the actual annual report reported by the company. Using third party applications is mostly avoided. So what is it that we should follow? Also the template works well for Income and Balance sheet because screener has its own template where the line items for all the companies are same. However, in reality the line items may differ drastically. So what should we do in such cases? Should we follow the 1st method, i.e conversion of actual annual report to excel and then do the formatting or go with the automation method?
    Kindly guide for the same.
    Thanks in advance.

Just add interest, tax, depreciation to net profit, you will get EBITDA

Hi Parth sir, thank for such a wonderful effort. Enjoying every bit of it. just a quick question you have calculated COGS deducting Change in inventory. Technically, if the change is positive, it should be added to the cost as it reflects that opening stock is higher than closing stock. So I got confused and when I checked thoroughly I found that Screener has shown negative amount of Change in inventory as positive and vice versa. So can you please comment on this, is this the reason you have taken -1 multiplication to nulify the effect of the error made by the screener. BTW thanks for such a wonderful series. it is a joy to watch your videos.
