- A tribute to the Ryder twins set to Hey Brother by Avicii. Rated M for violence.
Making both protagonists present in the game was genius as far as I'm concerned, because when I replayed the game as Scott I felt really protective of my original Sara. I really love the sibling chemistry between Fryda Wolff and Tom Taylorson and wish they had more time together. If MEA 2 were to happen I'd love it if we could bring the sibling on board the Tempest and choose to run missions as the protagonist or the twin.
I chose to let both of the siblings act as Pathfinder in this video. Originally Scott was going to save Sara from the Archon, but I realized that because of the lyrics he was already doing most of the rescuing, and decided to switch things up. Sorry for the gameplay; this was the least crappy footage I had after over a hundred hours of playing.
Thanks to DanaDuchy, whose video of the Ryder twins' medbay conversations I used for part of the final conversation. Who could chose to not visit their comatose twin?!

I wish we got more time with the Ryder siblings awake and interacting. I would have liked to make the twin a crewmember.
Aww, I love this! I love the Ryder twins both so much and this was a wonderful tribute to them! I know it's not likely but hey, who knows? Maybe one day there will be an Andromeda 2? I would've loved to have the chance to play as both of them as the game went along! (I was playing as Sara and figured Scott would probably wake up before the game ended but I was surprised and utterly delighted by that little bit towards the end where we're suddenly playing as him! That would've worked awesomely if they would've leaned into that for a future game, IMO.)

Thank you so much! I love Tom and Fryda's sibling chemistry and hope to see them interact more in future. I'd love to have them both aboard the Tempest so we could have the choice of running each mission as one or the other. I expect the next Mass Effect game will be set in the Milky Way, but might link up to Andromeda by the end. Here's hoping the Ryder twins get to make a comeback someday!
Honestly, we need to see more of the Ryder twin we didn't play as if we ever get a sequel.
I was hoping the twin would join the crew of the Tempest and we could run the missions as either Sara or Scott.
@@211Shinobu I was just hoping they would replace Liam TBH. Liam was okay at the start and just got more annoying.
@@Luc42 I find Liam annoying but in a sort of endearing way. I think he'd be fine if he just reined in his impulsive behavior and grew up a bit. Also, the first game did npt do a very good job of explaining why each team member was useful to the mission.
@@211Shinobu I basically used Peebee (she was my love interest) and Jaal (because this was as much his fight as mine) most of the time. I used Vetra a lot, too, and Drack on Kadara and Elaaden. Cora and Liam got kinda sidelined.
As far as loyalty went, I think it went:
1. Cora
2. Peebee
3. Jaal
4. Vetra
5. Drack
6. Liam
In ME2, I felt like each loyalty mission had a purpose. I got to know each squad member better than I had before. What would become their loyalty mission is introduced pretty soon after meeting them. (Jack makes a deal for Cerberus files so she can find Pragia, Tali's duty to her people and what they mean to her is a core element of her character, Garrus mentions he was betrayed in the 2 years since ME1 in his recruitment mission, so on and so forth)
With Andromeda, I felt like Peebee's mission gave her closure with Kalinda that'd been building since her first conversation on the Tempest. Cora was able to stand up for herself and not be a follower (her jealousy over not being Pathfinder is introduced very early). Jaal was able to prove to the Roekaar that not all aliens are bad, but it does nothing to stop the Roekaar from acting hostile towards you. Vetra's allowed her to shed some of the crushing responsibility on her shoulders and recognize that Sid is growing up. But I felt like Liam was getting all worked up about someone we, the player, don't know and have never met. It'd be a different story if there was a mission where we had to do supply runs for Verand, but there isn't. She's basically interchangeable.
@@Luc42 Good points. The human companions tend to be rather boring compared to the aliens. Liam's loyalty mission was fun, but didn't really seem as grounded as the rest, as you said. I wish we could have told Cora why Alec chose Scott/Sara instead of her as Pathfinder (basically not wanting to make her a party to the crime of using illegal AI).
I also wished we could have had a wrap up of the Kallo/Gil fight. For example The Tempest needs to run a blockade and the two agree that Gil will modify the Tempest to give more fore shielding, but Kallo will need to fly in such a way that no damage occurs to the aft part of the ship or Gil and the mass effect drive will get taken out. (i.e. they need to cooperate and trust each others' strengths to get through the mission).
No comments yet? I wonder why because this vid is brilliant! The song and footage match perfectly. True sibling vibes :D. I really enjoyed Andromeda. The game could be more, sure (not having your sibling in party is a good example) but at it's core was really good and I thought we will see more of Ryders in future games. Sadly this won't happen. As much as i love Shepard the series need a new protagonist and Ryders were perfect in my opinion.
