Love seeing the pups! Great content as always.
I reuse boxes thay I get from purchases from eBay, or on-line shopping or Amazon boxes. I just make sure Amazon tape is covered on their boxes before I post things. I'm just a small time private seller on eBay, so I have to find or buy my own supplies as we don't get anything free. Great advice to everyone to use. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK
I think resellers deserve some appreciation for our cardboard repurposing strategies!!😊
Thank you! Actually, very satisfying & calming to watch. Kind of like a resellers asmr therapy.
I gave up dumpster diving years ago. I learned that I was better off spending that time on listing more items, making more sales and buying new boxes.
I loved the zip code commercial at the end of the video! I had no idea what the various numbers were for. Thanks for sharing!
Resellers may be able to make a deal with local Plumbing or Electrical contractors to get all their boxes and packing material, the best packing and boxes comes from the installation of the trim or final product, soft and/or hard foam and assorted sizes of plastic bags and boxes.
They often have to pay wages and service fees to get rid of all the garbage so it's a win for both parties.
Grimly is so adorable, rescues are the best.
There is a guy who lives near me that is on IV insulin and uses one 16x12x10 box worth everyday. These are thick boxes too, great for fragile items. Every 2 weeks I get 14 high quality boxes for free. I always flip them inside out so the medical company info isn't on the outside of the box. But I just scour Facebook locally once a day and find free (or extremely cheap) boxes almost daily.
I am fortunate to be able to get boxes from the restaurant I work at. Though, I still have to buy many smaller boxes. Can't get enough of the smaller sizes.
And I get all the bubble wrap and packing paper I need at work.
Yes! Thank you!! We need to encourage people to reuse those boxes anyway possible. Also, I think your puppies need to be on camera more. They clearly want a starring role. Cheers!
I try to recycle boxes as mush as I can. I get them from where I work. I am a mechanic so I get parts boxes all the time. And the owner of where I work buys lots of stuff from Amazon so I get all of those boxes, and bubble wrap or air pillows all the time. I tell my customer that it will be shipped in a recycled box, and they all are okay with it. Heck I even had same tell me they are going to recycle the one I have sent them. I say use it for as long as you can.
My Dollar Tree is happy to give me all the boxes I want. You can usually find them around the store. Just make sure you tell them you are taking them and buy something even if it's only $1.25 just to be polite.
That's where I get them too. Never an issue and they are happy to get rid of them
Do you paint or cover up the product markings on the box?
All this shipping talk has been super helpful for me
I ask my family members to save their boxes and packing stuff-bubble wrap, pillows, etc. I do occasionally snag them from grocery stores while they’re out and stocking. They’re usually glad to part with them because it’s less for them to clean up later!
Would love to see how you cut down the boxes for reuse!
To get large sheets hit the dumpter where new houses are being built for the cabinet boxes.
Look in the garage (door is not on yet) and if the drywall is finished and just painted, then you know the cabinets are time to go in.
I love to see how you create the smaller boxes out of the larger boxes. Do you have a set way of doing it? Or do you create the box Custom For the specific product you're selling ? I was a small seller and don't have access to any dumpsters and the boxes from the post office may be free but I the end, the postage to ship is often much higher. I've bought from Blind but that gets pricy and I end with a lot of boxes I wouldn't use and they just take up way too much space. I'd love to hear your suggestions, maybe in another video? I enjoy watching your videos. I find the very practical, to the point And extremely useful. Thank you.
Good information as always, we use these every quarter as well. We opened an account with Staples a few years ago and have used them when items are needed. We have found very good pricing for the supplies that are needed and that is before special sales. We build up reward points and receive at times some incredible coupon discounts. We do not recycle boxes and I am not a fan of the process. Several years ago we shipped an item via UPS in a used box and insured. Sadly, the item was damaged in transit which resulted in us filling a claim. We were denied. The reason given to us ? We used a recycled, previously used box. Just be aware that tiny, creepy crawly things and their eggs can be often found in used boxes.
You can also try the meat and dairy departments at grocery stores. When they stock the shelves they usually break them down and carry them in a cart while they stock. They'd prefer you take them so they don't have to bother disposing of them.
I bought a Mikata cordless rotary cutter this year. It has made cutting cardboard 100% quicker, easier, and safer. I just was not comfortable weilding a knife. I'd be interested in how you organize your shipping supplies. Mine are a huge mess, and I really need to get them into some kind of order.
I just ordered the 6x8 stiff envelopes to try using them on shipping allowable postcards for the cheap tracking. I don't trust my local USPS, so for the first one I am going to mail it to myself to see how they handles it. I sure wish I could use them for collectible stickers or embroidered patches. And like you , my "favorite" box is the one the boxes come in.
I get boxes from my job. It's a huge help!!
Do you think the usps increases will impact sales?
How do I mail a small book? Can I use the flat rate box? I enjoy learning from you. You explain things where I can understand. I love you Chi s. I’m trying to get one now . Lost my little one in Feb 23
all the very 👑best to you and yours!
You ever thought of being like a blues singer you got that like deep kind of sadness and yeah that makes you want to hear some like big band music meets rockabilly or maybe some old jazz music at the karaoke
Need a video on how to store my inventory. Cheaply wo building shelves etc. Small reseller here. And new. Where to get cheap storage bins? I don't get enough from free or cheap on Facebook marketplace or yard sales.
hi puppy ..
bubbles and paper
no peanuts
i love it
puppppy🐶
Go to grocery stores they beg me to take boxes.
Hospitals too they have tons of packing material and boxes. Cut a deal.
@@sissykim3975 good ideas.
I buy my boxes from Grainger, I find they have decent pricing and they have EVERY size possible! For example, a 12x12x12 cube is $.99 cents. You have to buy qty of 25, but that works for me - I never have them shipped, I select "pick-up" (free). Grainger seems to be in every state in usa. You may want to check their website out. No, I don't work for them - lol! I hope this helps someone.
Used to be a grainger near me, now the closest one is 2.5 hours away! 😞
Thanks for the video and information 👍
I honestly get a lot of my boxes from dollar tree. Make friends with your local dollar store employees because a lot of those stores don’t have bailers
Pet the dog. PET THE DOG! PET THE DARNED DO....ok, there we go. That's the good stuff. They missed their daddy.
I’m a new reseller and don’t have “a store”… just a personal spot. Currently selling avg is just over 5k in the 90 days they average out for me. Should I go ahead and open an official store ?
Yeah I'm at the same pace I started 7 months ago. I pay twenty dollars a month and I get 1000 listings per month
You don't get any free boxes unless you have a bigger store.
@@scottjohnson921 Smaller store get free tissue paper or polymailers. Both have Ebay logos imprinted on them.
Thank you
I sell on eBay for a living. If you make friends with some local furniture stores they will be happy to give you the bubble wrap and foam they take off new furniture. They are happy for you to haul it off so they don’t have to deal with it.
I do the exact same! Waste not want not!
I am really grateful for your tips, as a new reseller. I don’t have a store, just my personal account on eBay. Do you recommend that I open a “store “?
Only do it if it is worth the money. Do you list over 250 items a month? if no, then don't pay for one.
Better watch out on the 12" cubed boxes. They were 12 1/4" when I got them. (which goes over the size limit and cost way more to ship an item Plus they had 2 crease lines going all the way around them so you can fold them down which also jeopardizes the strength of them. The idiot rep I talked to said if the box is 12 1/4" on the outside then it's 12" on the inside. Stupidest thing I heard in quite awhile. Plus the post office dont measure the inside of the boxes.
Jan 13: i like 12x12x12 boxes, used them for years. I just went to get my FREE ebay boxes and they do not have 12 cubes right now.
The eBay store is also out of 7x7x7 and 13x13 record album boxes at the moment. I usually get those with my store credit
I vote for more puppies.
I have had a basic eBay store subscription for 4+ years, and just today I found out I could have been using a $25 coupon once each quarter towards shipping supplies!!! GRRRRR.... Anyhow thanks for the info, I just ordered 25 small boxes, ended up costing me a couple dollars only.
Don’t you mean packing peanuts? Circus peanuts are nasty orange candies that bad people hand out for Halloween. 😅
Dumpster diving....guilty✋✨
I also get end rolls of news print from my local newspaper. They only charge $2 an end roll which lasts quite awhile.
Don, how do you feel about this ... Three must read books to be a successful businessperson - Sun Tzu's "The Art of War", Thomas Paine's "Common Sense", and the complete history of the Jews by Flavius Josephus? Yes, yes, I am a sexy brain-man, but what does that have to do with a boxes video? Shipping supplies are part of the supply chain in business: Business is negotiations: Negotiations are an exercise in conflict: That's Sun Tzu, daddy!
She loves you!
I only get $25 from eBay.
A great place to get free boxes is the dollar tree. I’ve gotten tons of boxes from them. Also, my niece works at a hospital and I get tons of boxes. So basically, I never have to buy boxes again.
🐶
If your dumpster diving for boxes you're doing it wrong. I never ever send my customers items in reused boxes. It shows a lack of professionalism and care IMHO. Each to their own I guess. I do enjoy your channel but on this one, dumpster diving? nah, you gotta do better in business that dumpster diving for materials.
