I found that using the dull side of a butter knife against a straightedge, that it creases the cardboard enough to create a nice folded edge, no real need to perforate the cardboard.

This is good, and it can be useful. It is generally more useful for most to master the art of making a big box smaller, as needed. He probably spent 2-3 times as much time as I would to make a similar box to what I would make from a bigger box, but mine would also be uglier.

Why was the flap measurement only 5 though....you had 5 plus the 2.... that's 7. You said 6 for the width (the 4 plus the 2 inches for height). Am I missing something? Other than that, I'm gonna make up some templates for my art pieces today!! Thanks for your video. 😃

    • @Arterexius

I wouldn't use cardboard boxes for heavy lifting. There's too much of a chance that it'll just break and fall down and potentially break or chipped (even destroyed, if it's delicate).
For heavy objects that need shipping, build a wooden box and use plenty of padding inside. The postage firm would have to deliberately break it in order for the package to get damaged.

Then you build a jig that cuts the basic template, a jig that scores and a jig that folds. Or if you wanna be really fancy, you combine all three into one jig, but generally, if you need to make x number of any part, you make a jig to do it repeatedly and precise.

You're misleading people.. if you're not shipping something like wood, the entire box needs to be full. There needs to be styrofoam or something next to that top piece of wood to keep it from getting damaged. And you're nowhere near an old man.
