The 1986 design was and probably always will be the best..
The max headroom scenes were disturbing, and equally awesome.
Those scenes with the guy wearing a Max mask were the first recorded broadcast Hack in history.
That pirate/hack clip always creeps me out but this time it did give me a good chuckle when it interrupted the review.

Love the M-M-Max intro and the TV signal hijack cameo! This was a figure I never even knew of till now and time to buy one! Kind of like an ED-209 feel to it.
I loved the BAAT. I never used these as space robots either more like armored support for the BAT and BAT II on the ground.

That segue was so good (and layered with subtext) that it needed to be isolated for posterity. The writing acuity of HCC788 never fails to toast my bread.

The spikes on the back of the hand remind me of the Schuzrum Galluss from Unicorn Gundam.
Though with that poor articulation, I don't think the BAAT is gonna be doing any space Kung-Fu.
I always thought of the snake as, an autonomous robot that you can also get into. Like a mech unit you could fight with side by side.

Loved the Max Headroom intro! You always find a way to entertain! As for the figure, this came out long after I stopped playing with G.I. Joes. If it had come out when i did play with them, I would haven't have bothered getting it. I just wasn't impressed with what I saw from the figure.

FYI Brian the reason some weapons do not fit is bc they go to dr mindbender. All the gear for the BAAT had the handles retooled to fit, so if they don’t fit you must acquit! Lol it took me along time to get the correct ones.!

Funmy thing. The gi joe game on ps4, operation blackout had bats and bigger bats which i beleve were baats, they never say enemys names but they are bats but bigger so i like to think that they were brought back for that game :)

I've never liked the armor tech figures except for the B.A.A.T. Like you say in your video it was the only one that made sense.

Fun review. Thanks. Setting of Sci Fi/military aside, the figure design seems so far from the traditional GI Joe doll, I am not sure I would have even placed this figure in the same line. Lines have to adapt but this seems going too far. Have a great break!

I thought the same when I first heard of them. Calling a robot "armored" always seemed silly to me

On paper this figure seems like one I'd have disliked (bulky body, space & sci-fi theme in a fairly realistic series, oversized launching accessory), but something about this just works. His only negative is that awful pink of the file card.

The very first line he says in that is it is a quickshot. If you look, many figures that aren't ready for a full review get a quickshot. A couple minute overview of the figure before the main review.

Wow. This thing just didn't reuse parts. But it reused A LOT of Doctor Mindbender's yellow accessories. Literally, I think the only thing the B.A.A.T. doesn't have that Mindbender did was the laser rifle.

I was LONG out of GI Joe as a kid by ‘93, but it’s awful to see how ridiculous the line had gotten. This figure is a joke and, robot or not, banana yellow accessories are an eyesore.
By the time this toy came out, I think Hasbro just quit trying. I think the head of this figure looks like the head off a non produced Transformer
