I really enjoyed this story, and the A/B of the tracks! I think there's a common shared experience that resonates about "that one original band" from back in the day that were so good but never got into the studio! It's a familiar theme that pokes me in the nostalgia! At the heart of it, I think it's why recording music it's so compelling, and probably why we do it. To capture performances for posterity and have an artifact to share, beyond the moment it was performed, to make something immortal. That's the best use of a favor! Thanks! Cheers!

Thanks for your comments. I felt I caught lightning in a bottle that night over 30 years ago with just two Sennheiser 421 in the air. To me it was magic!

@@fantastictalesofproaudio2391 When the magic is in the room sometimes it feels like it doesn't matter what's recording. I have a cassette from the 90s when an excellent band was playing at a crappy little punk venue. I happened to have my small boombox with an internal mic and thought "hey why not" -- sure it's not high quality but I still love listening to it, total vibe. Considering the mic/medium it's fantastic.

yeah man, nice track. Can definitely hear the reason you'd listen to that live recording. They've got a thing.
