They are lol. Yes,solifugae (wind scorpion and camel spiders)make reasonably good terrarium pets, you can feed them crickets. But they will keep you awake at night digging.
These little guys are actually harmless. Although they may be on the creepy side, they dont pose a threat to humans at all. They dont like sunlight and they prefer to hide in the shadows. Thats partly why, its trying to dig out a burrow.

The little guy isn't horrible at all. I thought it was a antlion for a moment there. Still though, it is a cool animal. It understands that it must push rock to get food.
I was thinking the same thing. Looks like a Jerusalem Cricket (Potato Bug), but it has large mandible and it's back legs don't look like cricket legs. Looks kind of like a Sun/Camel Spider but it has 6 legs and two large mandibles. Definitely an insect, not a Spider. Wonder what it is.
Similar to what they call a Red Roman in South Africa. First night of a camera safari I found one in my tent! An unwelcome guest. I didn't want squished bug guts in my tent so I managed to scoot it out the door. Found him again next morning under the tent as we broke camp. We happily parted company, no hard feelings.
Vinegaroons/false scorps are something different! This is a Solpugid, or Sun/Camel Spider. :) Not a true spider, but it occupies the Arachnid family alongside both false and true scorpions.

as someone said--a little bulldozer
Honestly I find the way he digs absolutely adorable. Not to mention their dumb goofy little faces with the eyes too close together.
@Ezekiel_Allium and then you see one leroy jenkins half an ant colony and win and you realize, oh my god it is a horrifying monster. just not for us

It is amazing! It would be mean to make it a pet though.
Why horrible? Looks like a poor little critter minding his own business.
the soil is too dry, it tries to dig a hole, but it keeps on caving on him lol

it’s an arachnid

That’s bc it does! Bugs are animals after all & can be rather complex :)

This little fellow.is the origin story for the labors of Sisyphus! Never done moving the rocks, but he sure tries!
Look at that sandy boi dig! It's like thousands of years ago his kind was kicked out of the ant colony, and he vowed to make an ant colony of his own.
Fun fact: This is one of the few invertebrates capable of taking down an entire ant colony single-handedly in combat! Maybe the only one.
