Rarity system being tied to pack a punch is soooooo much better then the Cold War/bo6 rarity system, its streamlined with only associating one upgrade station and set of tiers with damage and it retroactively makes the mystery box the most useful it’s ever been with a pack a punch weapons in it, Bo6 should of kept this.
Upgrading perks and field upgrades in game rather then out of game was a great idea and embraces the roguelike dna that’s in zombies especially with the altar of covenants. I think if there was only 3 tiers for the perks instead of spreading it out across 4 and they gave the player 4 covenant slots with a lot more to choose from too this framework would of been well received.
Finally the art direction of this game is simply stellar, the demonic occult theme just works so well for zombies especially with the stylised field upgrades, the fact they made multiplayer maps look more zombie looking then liberty falls really proves this theme should of been kept as much as possible going forward

Definitely agree, with just a few tweaks vanguard could've done a lot better

Yeah i agree with all of that, there a couple of little things i think Vanguard improved upon cold war, from all what you've said to having only a single salvage currency, making self revives actually expensive to craft, same with lvl 3 armor where it takes longer for you to get there. I also honestly liked the variety the covenant system brought to the game, it is a double edged sword tho and i played vanguard very little, so not sure if it is a positive in the long term.

9:23 This makes just as little sense as it did when Milo said it. They HAVE to try and sell you the game, who in their right mind would sabotage their own game's release like that? If any employee said something like that, Bobby Kotick and Activision's Board of Directors would've more than likely mutilated them.

I actually like vanguard zombies. Don’t get me wrong, der anfang and terra maledicta suck. But the engine works really well and snnr and the archon were pretty good maps

I don't think it's the best but I do think it's way overhated, I have a solid 400 hours on vanguard zombies 😅

      I only have 400 in bo4

I'm not sure how many hours I have in BO4 but I'm Prestige Master lvl 600 (or maybe 500 I don't remember) in zombies and like Prestige 8 in multiplayer, I'm gonna guess that's around 600-800 hours. I'm only like level 20 in blackout though, Its pretty tough to find a full match on PC

Does it still take forever to level up each weapon? I wouldn't mind grinding for camos, but since it's tied to 70 LEVELS per gun...It got old quick...

I could be wrong but I think the game is permanent 2xp now

@@painrubric8734 grinding weapon levels in zombies is practically impossible solo, and still very slow with three other players. Since it’s permanent 2x XP no limit shipment and ship haus are the best ways to level up weapons.

Yeah, Vanguard is objectively the worst zombies game we've had. But at least Treyarch tried their best during the time crunch they had.
So Sledgehammer had dropped the ball during development and needed help making a third mode to justify the $70 price tag. Treyarch was told to step in and quickly develop zombies during Cold War's lifecycle on a brand new engine they had never used before. That's why Der Anfang turned out the way it was, with barely any features, no round-based, and a gamemode that was an Onslaught & Outbreak abomination.
I don't blame Treyarch at all for how this zombies turned out. They were rushed and told to do it last minute, just after finishing development on Cold War - and they would later have to do it again for MW3 zombies. And don't forget this whole time they were also working on BO6. That's insane.
Shi No Numa Reborn is the only decent map that came out of this, which I'd give it a C- at the least. The other three maps are the only Treyarch maps I've ever placed at F-Tier in the series (I've played all Treyarch games and never ranked a zombies map that low before lol). The Archon had a good bossfight though, that's about it.

Agreed, the archon boss fight was pretty cool
