I had this on a tape as a kid (other side had the Milverton case) and I listened to it religiously while growing up. As a teen, I used to listen to it with headphones on my portable cassette player in a totally dark room imagining it happening around me (like a low-tech version of virtual reality). I can now quote those two episodes (especially this one - which is my favorite) completely by heart. Thanks so much for uploading it!

I've listened to the John Gielgud Sherlock Holmes series when I worked for SiriusXM in a call center here in Egypt, they gave us logins to listen to the online radio (minus programing like the live sport events as those were exclusive to the paid subscription) and one of my favorite channels was Radio Classics and I listened to the Sherlock Holmes series (both this and the Basil Rathbone/Tom Conway radio series) and every time they played the Gielgud series, they always ended with the Final Problem which had Orson Wells as Professor Moriarty and the way it was presented I got the indication that that was the final episode of the John Gielgud series (some sources even say it was the final episode of the UK series) so imagine my surprise when I found this.
Does anyone have information whether this was part of the same series or did they continue the series with a new studio or production company?

When I was a kid, I listened to the Empty House before the Final Problem. So, so confused…..lol If you’ve never heard this or read the stories, do yourself a favor and listen to the Final Problem first (with Orson Welles as Moriarty), then come back to the Empty House.
