Wish they’d acknowledge Origins because it’s ACTUALLY a good game
I remember being pleasantly surprised by it but it is a bit of a black sheep of the group. The two biggest things were the default control scheme was different and wildly fucked up my muscle memory, and the Slade/Ninja fights just being "hard counter this or die" it was a good arkham game that lacked the finess.
The DCC figure of that suit though has been a surprise favorite figure of mine for years though.
It's crazy how bad WB is hating on their own IP 😂
A McFarlane Arkham origins Batman would have the articulation of a brick
Absolutely agree
It’s better than Arkham Knight in a great many ways
Solid release, the upper torso joint could've been better, and theres still no thigh rotation even though they applied it to gladiator batman. For 20 dollars this is a pretty good deal if you wanna save money
I'm also annoyed by the lack of paint on his hat's ribbon and that gloves are painted like regular gloves besides the sculpt is right and fingerless like in the game. I can understand not painting every question mark on his suit, but this is meh.
Yet it's kinda good figure, especially for mcfarlane.
Mr. Freeze 100%. Calling him one of the best boss fights of all time is one of the coldest (haha) takes you can make, thats how good he was.
I bought this too. I enjoy the head quite a bit. If you ever paint or dark wash the question marks I’d absolutely love to see it. I don’t really open things and really love watching guys like you do your craft. Thanks for reviewing Anthony you’re the best bud.
Thanks
This is a nice take on the character. It reminds me of his animated series look, but updated.
I am not sure if I want this, or his classic spandex look.
I think the Arkham games had a lot of btas inspiration. Especially ac
I really like this pimp nicolas cage riddler.
I think he's probably the best version since btas
Mr Freeze was such a great boss battle.
This is an instance where the figure being off model adds to it for me. I love the Arkham games and the general idea of the redesigns but some just go too grimy and Riddler is one of those for me. But the brighter colors really work for me and Im picking and choosing my McFarlanes to have a personal "iconic" spread that sorta rides the line of comicy realism.
Joker was my favorite bad guy in arkham city game
I repainted this figure, painted all the question marks, arm band and belt
using a model kit gold marker pen and purple pen
I recently bought and was considering this, do you have a pic of the repaint?

Anthony’s Question of the Day: Mr. Freeze. 🥶 That boss fight was bloody brilliant; it involved stealth, skill, skulk, timing, patience and adaptability-all whilst cleverly utilising your environment to combat the prowling Freeze, who was hell-bent on murdering infected Batman.
McFarlane Toys’ Arkham City Riddler is a surprising release to be sure. I still own the DC Collectibles/Direct version of this very design, and although the articulation is sorely lacking, the figure makes up for in paint and detail. In other words, that figure is much better detailed than this one. Having said that, I still enjoy this McFarlane figure for what it is; I reckon Anthony’s final rating (relax - I won’t spoil it for you) is the best possible score it could have received.
Mister Anthony, thank you for the always excellent review, mate. 👍
Grazie,
Arrivederci,
Giovanni Marino, M.D.
Thanks, doc
Nic Cage is next on knowing how to play the Riddler and giving Batman a real face-off.
That's the best Riddler we've got from McFarlane so far, works well as a comic book as well
I want a hundred of those little Riddler trophy accessories to hide around the house and piss off my roommate who's currently going through Arkham Asylum
Two face is my favorite from the game bc of his design reminds me of the animated series
From Arkham City? I wanna say Killer Croc, because he's my favorite Batman villain, but he only made a cameo, so I don't think that'd be fair, I'm gonna have to go with The Penguin or The Riddler.
Solomon Grundy is my favorite purely because when he came out of the ice I said “Oh Fuck” involuntarily. And that’s well done on their part.lol
Freeze was my fave from boss fight in City. With the Riddler I think some eyes fit well with his personality myself
My favorite villain from Arkham city is killer croc his quick cameo was so cool
Someone make a Charlie Sheen custom.
Am I the only one who thinks McFarlane's figures look....gummy, or clay-like. Ever since they moved away from their Halo line all their stuff has that look and feel. Not saying it's bad, just different.
I don't really have a favorite villain from that game but Hugo Strange was a standout, it was nice to see him get the spotlight even if they cheapened it at the end. For me this figure looks decent save for the lack of paint, it's just not my preferred Riddler design. Some of the Arkham stuff to me fits in decently in other displays, but for me I like the cleaner look for Riddler in a suit, without the rolled up sleeves, boots and lopsided hat. Basically just his animated series look is my preferred design, this more disheveled look works fine for the Arkham universe though.
Hi Anthony, great review! I might pick this one up! As for my fav Arkham City villain, it’d had to be Dr. Hugo Strange! An absolutely conniving & bloodthirsty lunatic! Corey Burton’s performance of the character made him scary IMO.
It’s no Costco cake but it’ll do. Awesome review Anthony 💜❤️💖
Mr.freeze is the best!!! That’s boss fight scared me as a kid hahah
I will say, he does look a bit too "in shape" I guess you could say? In the chest/shoulders. In the game he was a bit more twiggy. Not a huge complaint, though. The lack of paint breaks my heart, but overall not bad.
Edward Nygma aka the the Riddler is definitely one of my favorite OG Batman villains because he is like theJoker but instead of jokes he tells riddles and despite the side eyes and the lack of paint wash, I do think he looks cool, Overall, Great review on this Riddler action figure Anthony.
I dont remember which game is Arkham city or otherwise, so I'm not certain if I've played it or not... so, I'll just say that my favorite villain out of that series of Batman games, would be Solomon Grundy. I liked how they made him huge and pretty damn scary! Just, that whole cut scene into the fight is creepy af! I loved it! Sik
Mr freeze or Penguin for Arkham City
Cake rating is killing me. My top two favorite boss battles are Mr. Freeze and Solomon Grundy
Mad Hatter is my #1. Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Mr. Freeze, and Hugo Strange also kill it. Overall, the series knocks it out of the park with villains. Arkham City handled them the best (arguably).
Nice likeness to Alan Cumming😂
QOTD = Catwoman, thanks to her ending
Are you going to review the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man SHF?
Not likely. Don't plan to buy it. Doesn't look right to me.
Mr.Freeze
Are you gonna review The 3 Flash (DC Multivers from the new moivie)?
no
Mr Freeze by far. Ra's AL Ghul is 2nd.
Can you do a review on Mcfarlane Batman fighthing the frozen figure .. thanks
Don't know what you mean
I collector DC for a long time but for Mcfarlane DC I pick and choose for this one its a pass for me
Where did you get the Riddler Trophy you used on the thumbnail?
Photoshop
@@AnthonysCustoms oh, I thought it was a custom piece 😅
Or clay face is good too
Anyone else think he looks like nic cage?
This is definitely one of the best-articulated McFarlane figures. The torso range, decent neck range, and splits put it so far ahead of so many MCF figures.
definitely Mr. Freeze
👌🧐My good man, that was an excellent cake rating you did if I do say so myself
Freeze wins
Born on a Monday whooping my as on a Tuesday beat on a winsday Soleman Grundy
Why is McFarlane doing those waist swivels so high with the diaper. There's absolutely ways to make it nicer
The diaper is just big. The joint isn't high.
They're plagued with the diapers.
Did this Ridder have almost better or to the same articulation as Hasbro's 3pack Spider-Man? Lol...😅 damn Hasbro
Not the torso but otherwise, yes
👍
That costume design is bothersome. The Miami Vice sleeves are ridiculous and were they kidding with that giant question mark on his back??
Did you pay the game? He's almost literally never seen.
@@AnthonysCustoms i have never played the game. i am looking at this strictly as an action figure.
First comment let's goo.
