How exciting! It must be a lot of fun. So much beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing.

Parts of Arizona are quite scenic. Don't go there now, though. At least the low lands. Phoenix averages 108F every day during summer. But Arizona has a fair amount of mountainous area where it's cooler.

I got off of I-40 one time, west of Santa Rosa to head up to Las Vegas NM. Up north on 84 I could see a wall of water falling out of the sky, so I stopped to suit up. By the time I got to the wall of water, it was gone. Better safe than sorry, because being wet in the mountains is bad news. Plenty of times, I dodged the rain on twisty roads, but that was a clear view.

LOL, classic! Cold and wet sucks. Cold and wet on a motorcycle at 9000 feet SUCKS! Glad you lucked out.

Of course, you have a microphone, but it's nice to know that I'm not the only one that talks to myself as I ride along. I'm yearning heavily for a SW ride. I live in East Texas, so getting across Texas is the challenge. I'm convinced that people who move over are bikers in their cage. They are looking out for us, as I do them, when I'm in my cage. I've started using Shinko 705 Dual Sport tires because they are less expensive than the Michelin Anakee Adventure or the Continental TKC 70. The TKC tires are my favorite, but they wear out faster and are very expensive. I like the Anakees but here again, can not afford them at this time. Honestly, I have gotten better mileage from the Anakee Adventure tires than any other. So, I'm watching these Shinko tires carefully. So far so good. I live on a dirt road where the county uses a mix of limestone and river rock, where the rock is sometimes the size of a golf ball. I have had the Shinkos for over a year now and I am an all weather rider, even at 70! Just for reference, I own a Yamaha XTZ12B(c), or the Super Ten. I love this bike. It fits me. I love the BMW too, but a bit pricey for me. My best friends own them, but they lament of revving higher at speed than me.

It's OK to talk to yourself. You can even argue with yourself. But if you lose the argument, that's when folks need to start to worry...
I used to date a gal that lives in Temple. She has family in Houston and her sister has a ranch east of Houston not far Woodville in East Texas. I swear, everytime we went somewhere, it was a 4 hour drive.
Your road sounds like it could be a bit of a challenge. Especially if its wet! I've had this BMW since 2008. I think it was $12k at the time. It's versatile. I'm more fatigued after long days on the road, though. Especially if there's much interstate at 80mph. The Ducati and muh Harley are bigger and handle that sort of thing better.

Another nice episode. Thanks! I have visited all of the destinations and they are still interesting to me. I do realize now that the roads and environment get very little focus when in my car.

I didn't really enjoy the road from Yarnell to Prescott because my tries were not giving me confidence, so I kept my speed down considerably. But I think that road would have been a lot more fun if I had better tires. I can't wait to get rid of those MotoZ Adventure GPS tires. They last forever, though. 12k miles and plenty of tread still left.

It was just a little dive place not far from my hotel. Funny how those often turn out to be a good deal with great food.

Which town in Arizona has the best feel/vibe to you Curt? Great scenery, roads and food. Enjoyed the video and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!

Tough to say, but the area around Prescott, Jerome, Sedona is about 1hr30min apart. there is a good road from the south leading into Prescott, a good road headin north to Flagstaff out of Sedona and a good road into Jerome. Of the three towns, Prescott probably gets snowed in in winter, Sedona is kind of a haven for rich snobs, so I'd go with Jerome. I've never eated or stayed there, but I get a good vibe from the town. Doesn't mean I'd want to live there, but I'd ride that area again no problem.
East of Phoenix there's some great riding (Tortilla Flat), but that's a cauldron in the summer. There's some good stuff around Tuscon as well.
I liked the atmosphere of Bisbee, but there's not a lot of good pavement around there as far as twisties maybe with good scenery.
191 north of Morenci (bypassed on this trip) is an awesome ride and scenic. Clifton (2 miles away) is a cool little town.
The road from Kingman to Oatman is great. Scenery is dry desert, the town is probably the coolest town I visit on this trip (coming in 2 episodes) It's hard not to love the old western town. Not sure of the hotels. The burger I had at the saloon was good. It gets some good coverage in the upcoming episode.
