I haven't watche d the video but the correct way to gank is swing heavy sides into your teammates and ALWAYS follow up with your most powerful move directly into your teammates back as you try to push into the fight holding walk forward.
This is a very underrated cc so I wanna mention it. When shugo lands a light or an uncharged heavy he can headbutt after it, THAT HEADBUTT IS A SHIT TON OF CC, you can land an easy heavy. This is extremely good in real 2v2s
i lost a breach match caus of it a stupulid shaman hit the anti gank god on the enemy team that i threw and prevented the knock down and he killed us all the other teamm8 where all on a 30 sec cooldown ;-;
Devil 8355 It’s Not All Bad, The Ground Is Guaranteed For Hits, But The More Hit At A Time, The Less It Does, Sometimes, Knocking Them Out Of It Can Guarantee More Damage, Especially With Jorgunmunder Or However You Spell It, The More They Go Into The Fall Animation, The Better. (This Isn’t Always True Though)
But ganking is dishonorabu! You must study the way of the nippon bladeu, onry face the enemy one on one or you shall perish by your own blade to retrieve your rost honor. So go ahead and pay in blood, commit seppuku to creanse your sins.
I hate it when my moronic teammates ruin my chance to kill someone by randomly swinging heavies, if you are going to gank then you disable the enemy and don’t let him move or fight back.
You don't even need to do that if you position yourself so that you will not hit the Cent before he can jump. If you do that you can hit the enemy when the punch hits.
I cant stand players that cant team fight and just run up to the guy your fighting spamming overhead heavies that just feed them revenge and get you both killed. Ive gotten to a point in for honor where I never get salty at the people that kill me, You'll hear me screaming at my damn teammates for getting me killed by cancelling my animations with their damn light attacks. I swear theres nothing worse than guard breaking someone, going for that punish, and right before you hit them some dumbass peacekeeper runs up and light attacks them knocking them out og the stun so they can block your hit
I recently got this game cause it was free and if I see a teammate fighting someone, I tend to keep my distance and make sure nobody else tries to gank my teammate, if my teammate dies, I fight the enemy. lol
I can't believe this video actually needs to be made. -_- It is common sense. People never respect the punish, they always without fail, find some way to interrupt. Thank you for making this video :D
Just got this recommended, just wanted to say: ahh a time when a game mode other than dominion was played and, JESUS CHRIST THOSE PUNISHES, THAT DAMAGE, THE GAME IN GENERAL. I only started playing after the CCU update and man, what a different game FH has become. It's also nice to see that the teammates are the same now as they have been 3 years ago.
Normally I’m fine with teammates but the ones that drive me up the wall are the ones that keep hitting you and not the enemy. They try to help but swing in the same direction you’re at and just smack you about. The only others that get irritating are the ones who come last minute while you’re on low health and take the execution. It’s almost everytime I get a guard break while me and the opponents on low health someone comes and nicks it 😂
Xanthous Fish Jeretuna worse is when u were gonna get an execution and then another idiot comes in and hits the guy you were about to kill with his run-light atack
Old for honor content is inane to watch for two reasons; 1. "How TF did that hit you?!" And 2. 100+ damage charged heavy from a shugo with good gear score
freeze haha that were Sasori-7 and my thoughts when we saw the title of your video. We thought: „Seems like freeze has fockin’ enough..“ Good job on the vid! See ya on the field :)
One issue with using long arm with LB in a gank is that the opponent has hyper armour during revenge, easy way to get around that is to time the long arm after your teammate removes the armour so it’s just a matter of being careful and doing the move after the opponent has taken a hit.
Jeeze, Freeze. I'm so glad you made this video. I've always assumed this was common knowledge, then I go into public and people fuck over my attempts at team play. It's made me start plugging in my microphone on PS4 just so I can explain to my teamates my plan. I'm still never sure if they can actually hear me, but if I set someone up for an easy kill and they flub it, it makes me sad. D: On the other hand, If I'm able to set up some huge damage and my team mates see what I'm going for, we usually end up winning/getting hate mail. I sure hope lots of people see this video, some people tend to forget this is a team game. 4v4 mode sucks if there's no co-ordination. ;D
I only gank in response to people who ganked me, or if a teammate needs help in order to live. This was helpful in how to defeat enemies very quickly, and your comments about bad teammates were very true
I know this is old, but I feel this is still needed. The amount of times I throw out a last ditch demon embrace with shugo and it gets interrupted before I pop off is more than I would like it to be.
Even though ganks in some game modes are kinda lame, they're also important pieces of teamwork that people tend to screw up easily (including myself) in others. This vid sums up what I'd consider everything you need to know about ganking, just speaking from my viewpoint of what I've learned from playing the game. The only other thing I'd add is that any kind of attack that can't be blocked is extra effective, as your opponent will usually be on the defensive. Besides that, this is a great video that deserves a watch no matter if you're a beginner or a vet. I think we all could get something from it. It's cool though how you end the video with a solid 1v1, as it's always the better alternative to ganking if you can pull it off, in my opinion.
This is a video I wish everyone else on my team would see as I tend have team mates who do not coordinate properly on the basic level (i.e Not attacking when someone can get off a really good OOS punish as the current player base can tell when it's happening or do not revive a teammate who can help even more in a gank situation or at least save time for that guy to become mobile without having to respawn.)
The MOST helpful part of this video, is the final statement (excluding the conclusion ov corpse). "Being the better person, and maybe show that player something he will try in the next game". These are very wise words, and I would feel shame if I did not attempt to re examplify this sentence. I am fairly new to this game, and I jumped in like a bat out of hell, not knowing wtf i was doing. As soon as i learned what a "rip tide" was, That all i was doing, and had no fabrication of "spamming" being a negative social construct. I would rip tide everyone i could, thinking i would be respected. It was only when i learned to hold my "Storm rush" as long as needed till i can confirm the kill, or feint and apply the "pressure of pressence", and even sometimes not do anything at all. An orochi's pressence is a beast of its own, given the stigma of it being the "spamurai" of For honor. This gives me an opportunity to mentally break my opponant, and cause disruption, causing him to feint a look to me, and lose his chance to counter my teamates Guard break. I am sure we can imagine what comes next in this sitiation, a free storm rush and execution....go figure. Thanks FREEZE! You really put things into perspective, and I learn more than u show, analyzing each video, and applying it to several different situations.
A very simple but surprisingly effective strat is to do a heavy into a heavy feint, the ganked player will try to parry it 7 times out of 10 (made up, you know what I mean) giving your team either a free parry if he doesnt feint his parry attempt or at least a free hit because he'll be stuck in the heavy animation (depending on the character he plays of course)
This has always been my biggest pet peeve in this game, and the amount you see guaranteed interrupts exponentially increases with the launch of every new season + new players
It's amazing how this video is over 6 months old and yet the majority of the time I still end up getting lumped with idiots that don't know this. I'm still relatively new to For Honor but this is one of the biggest reasons I don't play Shaman, I repped her once to become familiar with her moveset and playstyle and I don't think I can recall a single time someone actually let me finish the biting animation. Or like you said you guard break and throw someone either out of stamina or off a ledge when lo and behold your teammate heroically dives in with an attack that completely ruins your setup.
The amount of times I've had a successful peacekeeper guard-break, only to have someone interrupt before I can get a stab or throw in... *Vents steam violently*
I get really confused when I see anyone get a bleed soft feint off as Shaman... Almost everyone parries it consistently when I play Shaman and after moulding their view into thinking I don't do bleed soft feints.
I once thought about making a “How to gank” video, mainly because it would get viewssss and also because no one knows how to actually kill people in a 3/4v1.
Ive never ganked in For Honor and I wont be playing it for a while, but once i get back onto for honor, Im going to start ganking to see what that feels like
Do you ever experience hitting someone in a gank or teamfight and your attacks never do any damage just because something else is happening around the same time.
As a highlander/cent main that solo queues often, please don’t attack them once I’ve grabbed them. You can attack as soon as I’ve wrapped up my cutscene or have dunned ma glass
It's so annoying when I go into shamans pounce move and then a teammate comes and knocks me out of it, seriously if you didn't do that the enemy would of died and not get revenge instead of them activating revenge and killing us
I cant tell you how many times I've successfully landed an instant kill with shugoki but then get killed by my teammates because they couldn't patiently wait for me to drop them.
Didnt freeze making a video along the lines of prioritizing who to lock on to in anti-ganks/team fight and linked someone else video who covered in more in depth....or am I just crazy..? Help!
I hate when I join a gank and constantly spam Unblockable feints to force a parry attempt and my idiot teammate doesnt understand and then just stands there and gets killed
This is excellent! I was honestly thinking of doing something like this. At this point in the game's life, people need to accept thag ganks are gonna happen whether they like it or not... Though probably not.
Okay... okay i understand the importance of this video but i have much better question... How freeze found a tribute match? Doesn't for honor have only two playable modes?
check the date when I made this video. Tribute used to be very popular back then. I made a Tribute tribute video as well, explaining why I think it fell in popularity. ;) I really like the mode, hehe
It’s sooooo annoying when you are about to kill someone and then a team mate comes and basically steals the kill or kills the enemy just before I do so instead of getting like 30 renown I get 7, it’s even happened when the enemy is on half a bar and they are knocked down or are guardbroken and I’m like just piss off, if anyone wants to play btw bc I feel like this would be a good place to meet players that aren’t twats, I’m on Pc and my Uplay is Dr.Vlox, don’t even have to do dominion even someone to do 1v1s with as I am diamond 2 and love 1v1 almost equally to 4v4
any time i get interupted by team mates spamming attacks, i automatically change my fight style to counter annoyance, then i become the team mate that interupts ;). I literally will go out of my way to interrupt teammates haha, then they get mad but dont realise that they where the first to cast the stone, its really entertaining
I now realize ive been playing For Honor wrong for months, especially as a Shaman. Evey time I was called bad, was legit. Even in the games where I felt validated for having dozens of kills, I was always perplexed at the nerve of commenting on my poor performance despite being essential to the win. I now realize I had won as a player, but failed as a Shaman. They were right.
whenever i play in a team i always become the leader, i always say where to go an to group up and they usually follow, probs coz i show them respect by allowing them to get they're kills, i would just stand by watch until my guy is down or a second person decides to team up against my guy and step in. moral of the story you give respect and it is most certainly received, everyone who plays with always adds me for future games i rarely lose unless my team is absolutely shit lol
I wish lawbringer's parry into blind justice had hyper armor if only for how often my teammates stagger me trying to steal the kill--only to whiff themselves.
How do you switch targets so fast in a 1v2 while attacking? I try letting go of the guard button and pressing it again but its way too slow and not as smooth as the way you do it. Btw I play on Pc using a ps4 controller
Ive been ganking better in Endless March. As Nobushi i like to do a top heavy into a kick + top light poison. Pretty much works flawlessly as long as you find a lane that doesnt have a teammate between you and the enemy

Try to zone as much as you can and try to hit his guard too to give him as much revenge as you can

When you're fighting 1 on 1 and killing your opponent then your teamnate come and give him revenge and he kills you both...
North Nokris I fucking hate those people with a passion.
How about the ones that give the opponent revenge and then run away, leaving you for dead
Literally had two others run up to my opponent and give revenge even tho he had less than a bar of hp left. They both got ledged

I always wait for Centurions to get to the end of their cut scene to land my level 2 charged heavy as Conqueror.

surviving ganks is dependant on how bad your opponents are :D
but I'll see if I can come up with something comprehensive.
freeze oh yea i fully expect to lose ganks but possibly holding out long enough for a teammate or just getting some damage in can make a difference
As nobushi, I just zone cancel into sidewinder mix up while changing lock-ons, wins me a lot of Hanks.
why are people named Hank so bad at dealing with zones and sidewinders?
Nah Hanks is just the cool way of saying fights
I can't believe this video actually needs to be made. -_- It is common sense. People never respect the punish, they always without fail, find some way to interrupt.

There's nothing more annoying than playing as a Shugoki and getting your uninterruptable state knocked off by your own teamate.
As a shamn main, there's nothung more infuriating than having your bite stolen.
Soo what do you do if you're the one getting ganked?
I now realize ive been playing For Honor wrong for months, especially as a Shaman. Evey time I was called bad, was legit. Even in the games where I felt validated for having dozens of kills, I was always perplexed at the nerve of commenting on my poor performance despite being essential to the win. I now realize I had won as a player, but failed as a Shaman. They were right.
And now how can I convince my teammates to do all these?
whenever i play in a team i always become the leader, i always say where to go an to group up and they usually follow, probs coz i show them respect by allowing them to get they're kills, i would just stand by watch until my guy is down or a second person decides to team up against my guy and step in. moral of the story you give respect and it is most certainly received, everyone who plays with always adds me for future games i rarely lose unless my team is absolutely shit lol
This is why (as a conq) I just sit back and charge my attack and wait until the gank victim has low health and kill them with one swing
Can you do a video on defending the guard break on a tank
I wish lawbringer's parry into blind justice had hyper armor if only for how often my teammates stagger me trying to steal the kill--only to whiff themselves.
How do you switch targets so fast in a 1v2 while attacking? I try letting go of the guard button and pressing it again but its way too slow and not as smooth as the way you do it. Btw I play on Pc using a ps4 controller
R3 then for you.
yea but i cant do what you did here 0:10 with tapping r3 repeatedly
+Artin A but that's exactly how I do it. Just practice
The question is why would u play a game like ForHonor alone?
It's so unbelievable good when People not just play selfish in Team.
Ive been ganking better in Endless March. As Nobushi i like to do a top heavy into a kick + top light poison. Pretty much works flawlessly as long as you find a lane that doesnt have a teammate between you and the enemy
HOLY SHIT FINNALY SOMEONE BRINGS THIS SHIT UP
I forgot how to attack thankfully this video cured my idiocy
