@Evalyne Loring thats lore accurate lol. Remember reading the books as a kid and always feeling that it was pretty strange and unfair. Hermione could always enter the boys' dormitory.

The only thing that appeases it for me is the fact that when you walk up to it, you aren’t activating it because it’s an enchanted knocker and you need to knock first before it tells the riddle.

@@lechocolat3783 The four animals representing the houses are the patronuses of the respective founders. Ravenclaw's patronus was an eagle, which is why that's their mascot.
Also, I've never heard of eagles representing wisdom? That's more of an owl thing.

The Slytherin common room is very well hidden. I feel like the Slytherins didn't want anyone else to know where the entrance is. so there being no reaction makes sense. They're a private lot.
I do wish that the Ravenclaw Eagle would ask some impossible riddle or something though.

Medieval Castles are purposely designed like a Giant Maze to confuse Trespassers, Intruders and Pillagers or Invaders, so the Castle Guards or Soldiers can catch them...🏰🧩😵💫⚔️

I found Ravenclaw tower but I could not find the entrance to the common room, after that I lost interest in trying to find the Hufflepuff and Slytherin common rooms.

I love the way the slytherin chambers reveals itself. If you're not slytherin it won't even acknowledge you and the entrance doesn't show up. Like the Room of Requirement.

If you get the rhythm of the barrels wrong or someone from another house tries to enter Hufflepuff common room, the door way will douse you in vinegar. For those of you who are wondering on why the doorway to the common room does that.

It’s pretty easy to find, both Gryffindor’s and Ravenclaw’s are on towers. While Slytherin’s and Hufflepuff’s are near the castle ground.
It took me a while to find! It's near the faculty building I believe.

I'm gonna be honest with ya, I got sprayed by Hufflepuff's barrels and was very confused. I didn't even know that was Hufflepuff's common room until this video, I just stumbled upon it and thought it was just a neat little detail.

It’s because the doors are not present until you speak their passwords. It’s almost as if they don’t exist till you do.

I’m a Gryffindor and the Hufflepuff common room is my favorite personally. I really like all the plants and the general warm and cozy vibe. The Gryffindor and Ravenclaw common rooms are boring to me, and while I do like the ambiance of the Slytherin common room, it’s not exactly welcoming, so I wouldn’t want to live there lmao

Ravenclaw door just stares blankly and silently judges the student's choice of clothing. Slytherin being chad and inherently better than the other houses just doesn't give the other students the time of day.
I’ve gotten that reaction from the fat lady while playing as a Ravenclaw. Another time she said to me: “password… is no.” I still like visiting her just for a chuckle. Now I’m gonna have to try that Hufflepuff one. I enjoy funny finds like that lol.

Ravenclaw also has a locked door that leads into the common room from outside. I'm a ravenclaw, so i couldn't tell you if it's still there for others or not. Fly with your broom to reach it.

Based on the novel, for the ravenclaw common room as long as you can answer the riddle you can pass
But you’ll get detention or expelled by professor if you are not a Ravenclaw getting into a common room you don’t belong to, even though you successfully solved the riddle.
And don’t forget there are head-boys and head-girls who make sure no other houses trespassing.
It’s entirely different case for Potter and McGonagall to be able to enter it as it’s on emergency situation.
For the Ravenclaw entrance, it could have the raven shout at them or call them a dummy.
As for the Slytherin's entrance, it kinda makes sense nothing happens, because like Salazar Slytherin, it's meant to be sneaky or deceptive.
So for nothing to happen is very fitting

Unless you're trying to leave the building, THERE ARE NO LOADING SCREENS when you go through doors. I dont know why but its my favorite feature. Like, you could go around the ENTIRE map and STILL be able to enter stores in Hogsmeade freely. I just love it.

One thing that always puzzled me about the books/movies is the need for passwords at all, it's a magical school with moving stairs and a friggin attack tree, yet they don't have magic that only lets in people from the right house without them saying a secret code word?
I think it's because Gryffindors like that stuff. You don't need a password for Slytherin or Hufflepuff.
Sounds like the ravenclaw is bitter that they couldn't solve the riddle to their door and now has to sleep on the cold unforgiving floor.

Not sure if anyone has played the old Harry Potter games (OOTP and HBP) but one of the portraits says the same thing the Fat Lady says “No password, No entry” that brought me back
Too bad the Slytherin entrance doesn't send a snake at you, like the unlocking mechanism when going for the Slytherin Scriptorium.
If you pay attention to the dialogue of the fat lady in the portrait, not only does she deny access she mentioned the created characters parents being in Gryffindor, it kinda feels like an Easter to the canonical story of the game like if your parents were Gryffindor maybe you were actually supposed to be Gryffindor but like Harry we ASKED to be another house
Edit: it was honestly just a thought but besides the obvious cliches it has like every other single player rpg, me and my girlfriend have honestly enjoyed this game to it's fullest, and the only reason she we should we point out and overlook the flaws of this game is the reason that this is first game of this Genre that this specific development team have tackled on and they did absolutely amazing, and tbh if they did this good on their first game (Hogwarts Legacy was basically their testing round and that was one hell of a testing round) the imagine what they would be able to deliver us in the future, especially since they listened to fans about certain things in Hogwarts Legacy apparently

After all these years, I just realize that not all dorms are guarded by a painting.
It isn't really brought much attention to in the franchise. The outside of Slytherin is only mentioned in a single scene of the 2nd book, with its movie counterpart never appearing, and Ravenclaw is glossed over pretty quickly due to the urgency of the plot at that point in the final book
The reason you can't go beyond the two suits of armor is because it's the girl's wing. Canonically, men cannot go to the girls' wing, but girls can go to the men's, and I think it's reflected in the game like that.

The slytherin makes sense, Your not even supposed to know its there if your not one, The disappointing one is ravenclaw, You'd think they'd animate the eagle to flap its wings at you like a threat display or something, Though a cooler detail would be if it gave you a riddle and you could answer it correctly and be let in, In the books you can absolutely go into other common rooms if you know how, Would be cool to be able to overhear the passwords, See a huffle npc do the knock or answer the riddle and be let in, You could look around the common room itself and just have the dormitories deny access no matter what gender

Well, Ravenclaw is not just about being brainy to be fair. It’s the thirst for knowledge and wisdom
It's interesting that the two heart houses try to shun you, and the two mind houses don't bother at all, but I wish they did something, Slytherin is the perfect house to do something annoying to you just because you dared to try and enter their common rooms

I feel like it was a wasted opportunity for there not to be some side quests where you sneak into the other common rooms. Maybe with raven claw you can get in via the roof, one could be using a pollyjuice potion or whatever, a secret entrance underground or underwater to get to slyverin or hufflepuff idk. Just felt like there should have been more quests of mischief and adventure in hogwarts itself

In the book Hufflepuff barrel will spray you with vinegar if you don't get the right combination or barrel as well, which is an interesting detail. Glad that they added this here in this way

The ravenclaw stairs have tossed me down a few times in the past. They suddenly went flat and I tumbled down.
if you are playing a video with the game on you can be using just enough ram for the fat lady's portrait to unload, and you can stand inside it until she loads. but clipping thru and you can slip into Gryfindor common room pretty easily
(fast travel away and re try if you fail... falling thru the map is savable by getting on the broom once you are lowenough)
I'm surprised there isn't a mission to sneak into the other ones.
it kind of would be cool if you would have to complete a side quest line with a side character from each house and they will reward you with the password of their common rooms. kind of work for it, makes unlocking the common rooms feel much more rewarding than just having access. i like the polyjuice idea that someone suggested as well. It would be cool to pick a random or known student from another common room and explore for a while.
It's pretty ironic that the Hufflepuff entrance sprays at you for not being a member of that house, and they're known for being the nicest people XD
Not really being nice doesnt mean you dont get your hands dirty. Tonks, cedric, Newt, poppy sweeting are all examples. (I also know Bridget wenlock and 2 famous ministry of magic ppl were hufflepuffs) hufflepuffs are badgers, underestimated but defensive and able to fight larger foes. The entire house stayed to fight for what is right, while the other houses had lesser and hogsmeade was a hufflepuff idea! :3

There's also an additional entrance to the Ravenclaw Common Room via one of the roofs outside, however non-Ravenclaws can't even land on the roof.

The Griffindor one is frustrating because it looks like we could get in since you can see a room across the way, but of course you can’t get in if you’re not a Griffindor.
