Kraus T-Bar Setup on a 2018 Road Glide with Bassani Road Rage Exhaust

- 2018 Road Glide Special with Kraus Risers and Guage relocation kit. Basically you got a T-bar setup on a bagger. This is a newer bar style that I think will only get more popular with time. We've seen this style explode on the Dyna scene and now it's migrating over to the Bagger world.

Once again a excellent video Matt. I’ve been riding for 40 years and I always learn something new from you. I’m currently transitioning from a SG to a RG. This bar setup is very interesting. The concept seems like it would give the bike a overall better sense of control. Love the aggressive look also. Thanks for making the video. Keep up the great work. 🤘
I love those T-bars from Krause & also the 2 into 1 Basani exhaust, sounds great, I'm about to grab me a 19 RoadGlide & I may have to copy this.....
Clean looking build. I like those bars. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of moving to a 2 into 1 exhaust. Not sure about that front fender ... at 4:58 you can see that a bit more time should have been spent prepping the fender for paint.
That Bassani exhaust is just badass.
Just got to this video.Man I love this bike !
So nicely done and absolutely love the colour. It's one of those things where if you look at HD online the colours look bad , but after seeing this video the colour pops !
Thanks again Matt for a great vid.
Cheers !
I love your videos, I’m learning a lot about Harley’s. I’m saving for a 2018/19 Fat Bob 114!
Another work of Art ,with a sound to match !
Those bars are a great look and I love the sound from the Bassani's.
Looked at this set up ....
So awesome that you happen to make a video using Krause
The lady in purchasing, said she use to work for Harley
I’ll be honest, I was skeptical of this build at first. T-bars on a shark? That Trask air cleaner cover? Then I watched this video and you went pretty in depth and WOW! I’m impressed. I’m a huge fan of the RoadGlide and this one was really well built and customized. Really, really nice. Damn. Thanks for sharing Matt!
Thanks for watching Ryan. Can’t take any credit for the build. Our customer Put it all together.
I seen that set up of bars on a 2019 street glide special at Harley davidson in riverside. Looks bad ass
I really like the clean look and the color. Agree with the Ghost pipe look. thanks Matt.
I realize it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream newly released movies online ?
@Jon Caiden Try flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Jon Caiden I would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Jon Caiden I use flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Jon Caiden i watch on FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
Very nice , looks like it was a factory install and even though I like a 2 into 1 the ghost pipe makes it complete
Sick bike. That Trask air cleaner looks sharp.
Really digging the Kahuna collection.
She looks amazing! Love the setup. I'm looking at doing this same setup on my Mako. I've seen some of the other T-Bars that you've done but this looks like the height I want and need. Can you give me info on this setup ... my mechanic at my local Harley dealer has been trying to get me to go this route for a while now. I'm finally ready and looking forward to getting the handling that my Mako deserves!
Hey Matt, Very nice handle bar set up along with relocated gauges. It gives totally different sporty look on bagger. Wow !
Jamie is too natch master tech 👍🏼
Why not just mount the risers direct without the trex plate to retain the ignition/fork lock?
I like that handle bar set up. Sweet.
You always have the coolest bikes.
Love this setup. Considering this or the arlen ness setup. I like the pull back risers, how high is the setup you have. Does it also have the rapter plate. And if so does that bring it to close the gas tank opening.
A great looking bike that sounds incredible. Great bike Julio. Thanks for sharing Matt.
currently putting thrashin pull back plate 8 in riser st8 and aggresive mid bar on 99 e glide classic
Anyway I could get a the type of Mx bars those are. The Kraus setup looks great!
Sick Matt you guys are definitely leading the way
Good vid Matt, I need some new bars on my Dyna, those are deffinately cool looking. I like the new done shot of the shop looks good 👍👍👍
I have question does 10 inch riser with 2.5 handle bars are to high if you are 5.8 ? It would be cool if you ever would do a video how to chose the right Risers or handle bars.
Very nice Road Glide...love the T bars! Thanks Matt.
where did he relocate the key switch steering wheel lock?
Emmanuel's Lyfe you delete it and reprogram the ecu to a keyless ignition
First five seconds earned a "thumbs up".... bike sounds good!!!
PokerFaceTV thanks man.
I’m curious to the cost of this exact handle bar setup
Reviews on the saddlemen seat and klockwerks windshield plz!
Not even a minute in i notice you shift without pulling in the clutch lever. You always ride like that?
Looks great, sweet upgrade. Not sure about the pipe though I prefer the two pipes look. Would it make you swap the Storm Glide for a Road Glide? I also agree let the professionals do the work.
Like the bar setup. But how is the comfort. Is the reach a lot less ? Closer to rider ?
And how is the straighter angle feel on your wrist after long period.
Thanks James.
There are so many accessories for Harley-Davidson that folks spend more time putting stuff on and taking stuff off rather than riding. For me it’s just LED lighting 12 inch bars and that’s it. Wash it and ride it stock, oil changes at 4K , ride some more.
Nice red light run! 😄 Does the ghost pipe run under the bike to give it a finished look?
It was pink light. Yes, the Ghost pipe is for aesthetics
Looks badass, hopefully Harley brings back a yellow paint scheme for the touring models
How do the T-Bars feel in this setup? It seems they still keep you in a upright riding position instead of hunched or leaning over? Hands seem to be shoulder with apart vs stock bars that are more outstretched of shoulder with apart? Does it feel more natural position, and provide a better steering control at low speeds? -- You mentioned aggressive, how so? I have a 19 RGS, and have been eyeing up this setup for sometime since I first saw them on another setup not on an RGS, that you recently made an episode on. I don't really like how the stock bars feel. I find it cumbersome performing U-turns because you have to really extent your right arm to get the steering all the way around.
Great video Matt. Does the trask air cleaner void the factory warranty or are you still good if using the screaming eagle tuner?
So on the road glide you don't need a pullback plate right?
Great video Matt! Sweet ride!!! My life goals!!!
Awesome RG - came out great...
Clean bike! I'm digging those bars
Hi Matt! Awesome bike for sure. Any engine mods done or just stage 1?
Not a road glide fan but that is a sweet bike! Which Rood Rage system is it ? Looks like a 3 because of the lack of heat shields.
Kraus T-bar setup? Or Lucky Dave’s heavy hitters? I can’t decide.
Your videos are awesome! With your height would you run the same setup with trex and kick back riser, or would just the kick back riser direct to the triple tree be good? RGS FTW!!!
Me personally I would probably run the t-Rex plate with 12 inch bars with no pull back. Check out our performance bagger Road glide video. I’d do those.
How did you get that air intake? I was denied because of living in California.
Love the color the bike looks so clean so beautiful👍👍👍!!!!!!
How do you you get around carb ??? With aftermarket pipes they sound good
Beautiful T-Bar, man!
If I ever got rid of my indian I would probably go for a road glide. It would have nothing but t bars just because I haven’t seen any around the D.C. area.
Dose putting the bassani void the warranty? I want that same pipe on my bike
What grips are those?
Also, where can I order those bad ass wires? Or what are they called?
What’s the part number for the horn I can’t find it anywhere
Where is the key switch located on this bike? I couldn't see it? I really like the bars! Another really good video Matt! Ride Safe!
it was rewired like the softails, its just the run switch now. There is no ignition switch.
Anyone know what bar is mounted on the risers?
Looks like a set of fly racing bars
Matt nice bars, and great set up on these pipes do you know if these are the bars on this bike .. FM FLY MOTO STYLE BARS
Yes. I believe they are.
I got a t-bar setup for my Sportster from Harley-Davidson
Maybe not exactly that one buy hope to be riding a road glide soon
So now that I’m guessing you have seen and ridden a few of these setups do u like the Kraus straight risers or do u like the kickback risers more?
Very nice.
Matt, can you please get the exact name/part#'s for the Road Rage with ghost pipe in black? I've looked at their site and there's no mention of a black ghost pipe.
Hmm. I don’t know the exact part number. I’m sure if you call Bassani they can get you the parts
SWEET looking RG, Great job Matt! 👊⚡⚡
THANKS for showing me some love from the West Coast Matt, Semper Fi Brother!!!👊⚡😉
I was looking at the same setup - this is a great video! but... where did you relocate the ignition and how did you hide the main harness wire on this?
It’s keyless. Just hit the run switch and the ignition starts up.
Matt Laidlaw , would this setup work without the pullback plate? Just curious why everyone uses it? Is it for the reach, or is it to get the gauges more room so they aren’t hitting the inner fairing? I’m looking to do a setup like this so just trying to see what I’m in for.
How much full set kraus t-bar?
Great video. On a different note didn't know if you could do a video on stage 3/4 upgrade for the m8 and your dealerships experience with reliability. I saw the video of your employee, Andrew, having problems with his stage 3. Also saw where Adam Sandoval just had his stage 4 melt down. I was thinking of going stage 3 on my 114 but now am having second thoughts. Thanks.
aarondeere Andrews stage 3 failure wasn't related to his stage 3, he had the oil pump failure that happens to a small percentage of m8 engines, independent of the stage kit.
The oil pump design has been revised since Andrews engine failed.
Most people are having great power benefits from the stage kits. I always recommend doing the stage kits within the first 60 days so they are warrantied. When people do those kits they ride the bikes really hard (Justifiably so, they want to use the power). If you can do it under warranty then it's a zero risk. I think people that don't get the engine kit on their Custom Coverage warranty and ride the bike like they stole it are taking a risk.
Thanks guys. I've had my heritage for 7 months now and love the 114 but think I'll sit on the sidelines a bit longer to see how the latest oil pump works out with what your saying. I dont ride it like I stole it but didn't think about any engine upgrades at the time of purchase.
What’s the overall length of the bar setup? I heard 10” risers so I’m assuming 12”? How tall are you?
How much is that bar set up
amazing bike
Must you purchase the Pro Tuner to use the Auto Tuner or can you just purchase the Auto Tuner? If purchasing the Pro Tuner is optional, what are the pro’s and con’s? Might make for a good video?
You gotta have both. We are going to make a video on this soon.
Hey Matt I am looking to buy a 2019 CVO Street Glide, trade my 2015 CVO Street Glide Has Harley made the ride any softer my back has been killing me since they put in this"premium" rear shock ? I should not have to keep buying shocks just to ride HD bikes my 2015, 2016, 2017 rode like rigid frames.
The dual bending valve in the front forks helped quite a bit. That came out in 2017. This will probably still hurt your back if the 2015 was bad for you. I’d plan on getting taller shocks or a more padded seat. Everyone’s comfort threshold is different.
Keep in mind Harley is juggling a number of competing issues when it comes to suspension. Ride height is the biggest one. In order to make a bike of that size manageable for most people, the height needs to be reasonable. The result is a shorter shock that must in turn be stiffer, especially on a bike that must be capable two up and with luggage.
A bike like the BMW R1200GS has a seat 7 inches higher than a Street glide. That gives the engineers much more freedom with spring rates, but limits who can ride the bike with confidence
I have a 2017 CVO street glide, I put the Harley 13 inch touring shocks on it, helped a little.
Yea what Neptune said. Perfect answer.
Neptune has never ridden a touring harley with these shocks but you have Matt, I will change mine to progressive 970. he is talking about a BMW why not talk Africa twin, BMW 1600 Gold wing, etc. etc. these one side adjust are unacceptable on a $50,000. ride. If Neptune is happy with his CVO I am happy for him. Regards
Whats the rise on the bars?
I really like the front fender what is the name? and supplier?
Russ Weidimont. Misspelled.
Thanks mate
Next year on my 50 th November 5th ..
coming up try to buy my dream
Bike from Laidlaw’s
Awesome. Thanks for choosing us. Come see me 👍🏻⚡️
Could care less of the ghost pipe extra weight I m running the polished version of the kraus gauge mount I love it but it is ridiculously pricey
Yo Matt I have a complete club style street bob dyna. I would love it to be on your channel!
Bring it by on a Tuesday or Wednesday Afternoon.
Matt Laidlaw awesome!!! I will
Send me a e-mail so we can setup a time. I don't want to be unavailable when you show up. mlaidlaw@laidlawsharley.com
I need one
nice bike nice gloves too
Matt laidlaw voided powertrain?
No not necessarily. We used HD tuners. The power train warranty isn’t instantly voided under HD’s obligation with EPA. Now if HD determines if the pipe somehow negatively affected a failed component then that part could be denied warranty coverage. The risk of this happening is low however.
Badass RGS
Can you spell the last name or send me a link to that front fender? Russ Vernamont?
Not sure which fender but it's from these guys www.russwernimont.com/
Thanks!!!!!
How is that handlebar setup for long rides?
I’m not sure entirely because I only rode about 10-15 miles. For my height it seems like it would be great for long rides.
I'm not a fan of this style of bike but this one certainly looks nice.
Very helpful thnx
That ghost pipe. Is it time I trade my superduke in for a road glide.
🔥 music ✔...Bad Azz exhaust ✔👊🇺🇸👊...✌and God bless and stay safe and keep the rubber side down.
Thats nice
Not a big fan of the Road Glide but that bike makes you think twice take care Matt
music name plz ?
It's in the description at the bottom
Like the bar setup but $1500 ? Hmmm
I like the brake pedal
I would like to see more on the fake exhaust setup
Badass
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Biutyful!
I guess if you are a fisherman you can stow a rod in that ghost pipe ;)
Lol. Yea probably.
hey brother I was trying to get a hold of you to see if you wanted to go break bread with me👍🤣🍺🍻👌👊🥇
Dunno, just don’t like the bars at all. Makes that whole control cluster look more like a cluster fuck. Dig the front fender. Hate the seat. Pass on it.
Rad!
