    Just went here today. The amount of jasper laying around is unbelievable. The higher up you go, the thicker the banding.

      I'm so glad you found some lovely rocks! We camped a month ago and had a tarantula in our site!

    It's pronounced Flor-ee-da mountains. Cool watching my backyard on film. Hope you stopped at a good restaurant because Deming has the best food!

    That fossil looking one appeared to be banded rhyolite with bubbles/barnacles/nodules in the rock. Looked like a few had opened. There’s a boatload of that stuff about halfway up the mountain

    Curently live in Illinois. Wanting to move to new mexico so bad. Hopefully within next year. Any treasure hunting groups to join?

      We were just passing through. New Mexico is delightful. So much to see. If you're a rock and crystal collector, Rockhound State Park is one of the few that lets you keep your finds. On your way from Illinois I would recommend stopping in Hot Springs Arkansas for some crystal mining. It is an incredible experience. There are many rockhounding Facebook groups for beginners or by state. We also belong to metal detecting Facebook groups. Depends on what kind of treasure you seek! I hope your southwest dreams come true. We just moved from Michigan to California. Love the southwest.

    Did y’all go to the Truck camper rally near quartzsite? Did you meet Stoney Boot channel?

      Yes. There were other RUclipsrs there and we formed Cirrus Alley. We did a couple of videos on it, one with Cirrus tours and a short overview that was featured on the truck camper adventure website. It was a fun rally!

    Is there a fee to get into this park? And ... do you know how many miles of trails there are? Thanks!

      @OuterLimitsOpenRoad  2 года назад +1

      Yes, it's $5 for the day use pass. They do have campsites for an additional fee. It's not a huge park - only 3 miles of trails, but so many cool rocks!
