So many folks these days just don't know what they're missing... Donald Fagen and Alan Parsons are legends who I'll love until I die. I fear their respective genius might be lost on the narrow minds of tomorrow... I admit to my unrelenting pessimism, but I hope I'm wrong. I hope these brilliant minds and their art won't be forgotten ❤
Donald is such a fucking boss. Missing a tooth and doesn't give two shits. I love how he's singing these days. He sounds better than some clips I saw from the early 2000's. Nightfly live was such a badass album when they released it a few years back.
I saw the show in Indiana in 2017 and the musicianship was superb, harmony very nice, Don was somewhat smoother than this. Really enjoyed.....was expecting all DF solo stuff, instead got quite a few SD hits.....all good
Love it! I don’t know if any of you guys get to see a tv program called Endeavour. It’s a prequel to one called Inspector Morse and is based around the 60s and 70s. In one episode it featured a hospital radio DJ who hosted a show called Nightfly; the character’s name was Lester Fagen! 😂🎹❤️
Voice shot. Saw Jethro Tull this past year. Sad to hear how bad the voice has gone bad. Same here. Was considering seeing him in concert in Ohio. Saving my money and disappointment.
you ain't a Donald Fagen fan then. you have to remember he's 70 and tired probably. I'm seeing him soon and I spent the $300 hopefully it doesn't cancel the way things are now.
@@bernlin2000 Fagen's voice isn't what it was, but I thought these were fun performances with some good young players. He was obviously enjoying playing with different people and feeling new life in the performances.
Everything doesn't get technically better by age. Only thing I missed was the tight cowbell, so that's a minus for the drummer. Rest of the band was not best possible, but just fine.
It's not as bad as you say. What were you expecting? I only heard one Steely Dan performance of "Aja" come close to the original. I would have enjoyed this gig.
I saw this same show in Wilmington, NC and it was SO good. I’ve seen SD a ton of times, and this was so unique and had such a cool energy to it. Donald seemed like he really enjoyed it, and that band was tremendous. Connor, the guitar player, has ended up a touring member of SD since this. Really, these shows were excellent!

Yo this comment is CORNY
These youngsters got the treat of a lifetime.

Indeed. Actually, I love the missing tooth. Full boss mode.
Thanks for uploading! Great to hear Don singing this old tune again
This album is just such a lovely continuation of the SD sound with all of Donald's personality ❤❤❤

We need to cherish these legends whale we can.

Thanks for that information!
Would love to see this band live. I can only assume I will never see him live and in person again.
I saw this band last night in Wilmington's Cape Fear Stage. It was awesome.
I can't wait to see him in Vegas on April 27, 2019. Classic SD.
These guys do fabulous backing vocals
I was thinking the same thing. Better than on the 2021 Nightfly Live album
Wonderful guitar playing
love this ,drummer is right on also band harmonies are great,Connor can play!
Do you know if Connor was also the guitarist on the live album? The lead guitarwork on that one is really amazing!
Great performance. There's at least a trumpet (and also a trombone actually) missing but it still sounds pretty awesome.
What's up with that picture of Laura Palmer behind the guitar player?
🤔
Musicians like to have fun and decorate the stage in the ways they enjoy. Perhaps this guitarist enjoys having that photo for ambiance or amusement.
Listening from foot the Mt Belzoni
Guitar solo on point!!
Well the audio quality is crap..but some righteous grooving going on so forgiven..
かっこいいなぁ
Nice
Is Donald missing a tooth?
Yeah😂
“I’m Lester the Nightfly, I’m missing a tooth, I’m for dentalflation.”
Fantastic, but loose the tie!,!
It is loose . . . very loose ;)
They sound good but I'm pretty sure Don has enough money to go to the dentist and fix that missing front tooth?
Meh, I'll stick to the studio version.
Well, considering this is recorded on a cell phone ... 🙄
Ridiculous comment, don’t bother next time
@@Phoebedumplings I'm refering to the singing performance of DF, not the quality of the recording which obviously is crap.
the tribe members don't really age too well in the looks department, do they? 😂However, they don't lose any iq points or musical licks at all🎹
WTF is he saying?
W-JAZ!!
💨🥃💨🥃🥃🧘💤☕

thank you, more for us
He's singing the song the way it sounded on the album and the band is very good

Very much look forward to your stellar singing voice in your 70s 👍👍 this music deserves to be played live.

Ouch! Sad band and weak singing. Why post something with such lousy quality?
you have no taste

This track came out in 1982..I'm sorry if screaming Gucci gang 123 thousand times is your choice of quality.

Had they just broke into it the crowd would have went bananas or I might be speaking for myself...
