I absolutely love all the make up looks you show! I've recently switched to clean make up as I was inspired by the looks that are more aligned with how I want make up to look. I couldn't put my finger on why makeup looked strange on me in my 40's, and after watching your videos, I was convinced that less is more. I invested in brands that are clean and loveeee how easy it is to apply and how good it looks on my skin:). Just wanted to let you know, I've learned a lot of tips from you and love that you share them. Thank you!

Katey you look stunning :) I also thought the look before the mascara was gorgeous and very arty looking - both were lovely IMO. Re: Ilia mascara - as Kthoopify said below, I struggle to keep any curl and wonder if you could advise on eye lash curlers, for example, are the Surrat ones worth the investment? My lashes just don't hold any curl - it's gone within minutes esp if I apply a second coat of mascara. Do you use the short comb end of the Ilia to get volume? I originally thought that end was supposed to be for lower lashes and could never get a decent amount of volume going on. A British brand called PHB do a pretty good mascara at a sensible price and I believe they donate around 20% of their profit to charity. Have you ever tried that one? On another note - so glad you're posting on RUclips. If I know you've put something up I drop everything to watch your content. Great that the Balance spray is free of essential oils - I find these are used too much in clean beauty and they can irritate skin. I have eczema and skin sensitivities so can't use many things so knowing there is something out there I can try is great news - provided it's available to the UK market!

I love the Ilia mascara, but it doesn't hold the lift/curl from curling my lashes like conventional waterproof mascara does. My lashes are straight again within half an hour. Any tips?

I was going to ask the exact same question!

I use the ilia mascara everyday, and I'm an eyelash curling fanatic. I have no problem with it, for me it holds the curl all day. But I apply mascara a bit differently. First off I use the comb side on my top lashes and the shorter side on my bottom lashes. The short side weighs down the top lashes too much. I also don't run the wand through the root of my lashes I mainly focus it on the tips of the lashes and the middle. I have brown/black lashes so I get away with it. I feel like putting it at the roots weighs the lashes down and they fall flat. It also looks more natural this way. This technique might not work on blonde lashes though. Hope this helped
