It really was. We were all home and staying inside or just with Family. And having a finals I could actually invest in and watched through and through. Brought me closer to basketball
I know a lot of people say that the bubble was the weakest championship in NBA history, but like the Covid protocols and being separated from their families combined with the open gym and even scrubs could go off for 20 because as you said, no one was missing. I think it was honestly the toughest championship mentally because there are no excuses, it's just 10 players and quiet gym.
there was 0 outside influence in terms of fans and atmosphere, the best team truly won. Also showed how truly good even the 10th, 11th, 12th men etc are in the nba
The only reason people say it was easy or that it doesn’t count is because it’s people trying to discredit Lebron. Curry wins that chip and not a soul is saying it’s “easy”.
MPJ literally just said reminiscing about the Bubble: we'd all just go down to the pool and drink Pina Coladas all day. Get the f out of here with that weak excuse of a championship.
people really have always hated the bubble and yes we all do in some aspect, but it honestly gave us some most intense and insane basketball moments in the last half decade, like just imagine OG’s 0.5 buzzer beater with a crowd, same with AD’s game winner vs denver, what about lukas’s buzzer beater vs the clippers, and imagine how much more intense the nuggets vs jazz series wouldve been, these moments would be all timers if they were in an arena with a packed crowd
Fr, was an amazing, tough playoffs that wasn’t even riddled with injuries (apart from the heat). Jimmy butler was just insane, same for Luka who hit one of the best game winners ever tbh, LeBron hitting 3s from the logo against dame in the playoffs, 3-1 comeback from the nuggets. Intense heat Celtics matchup, and we got to see a great finals, Jimmy Butler’s performance was amazing to see and really gave the team some hope, but seemed like he was too tired to do that in consecutive games, then there was the Danny green 3 pointer lol 😂. Nah but Luka had some of the craziest stats in that series, and Jimmy Butler having a 40 point triple double and a 35 point triple double was really nice… conference finals I do agree lacked highlight plays tho lol
Also the last time we got to see the harden that elevated his game in the playoffs, the scorer, until he went to Brooklyn and became a playmaker, got injured in the playoffs, then went to philly and was a playmaker but a shaky shooter, I hope he has a bounce back year and plays like he did when he first got to the nets, he can pass the ball and get 10 assists with some rebounds while scoring 25 points a game, playmaking for Embiid and his teammates while scoring
@@rimimimimimimimim4170 Idky people are such huge fans of Harden. He isn't a winner and he's proven that many times over. No one cares about a player who racks up a ton of points by throwing themselves into defenders. Look at NBA history, there are guys with over 20k points that never even sniffed the finals and you never hear their names mentioned. Harden will be one of those players. Philly will never win with Embiid and Harden because both of them are injury prone and miss a boat load of games. He may get decent numbers launching a ton of shots with a terrible FG% but they won't be winning any rings. And oh look Harden is missing the whole month of November 😂

I started to watch the NBA when they were in the bubble it was really fun to get to know all the basketball rules and out of this world players. I also kept thinking what it would be like with fans in the stadium and if that affected the players and I remember the first game I watched with fans. It made such a big difference, it probably wasn’t the best game ever but to me it was because I experienced how the NBA really was for the first time outside of the bubble.

As Denver fan it was a beautiful time for us! We were winning and it was amazing! I still to this day will fight anyone that says if AD doesn’t hit that game winner it’s a whole different series.

My freshman year of college started during Covid. As a basketball fan, a Kobe Bryant fan, and a Lakers fan the bubble was the only thing that kept me sane. I went to a NBA game a day before the season closed down and was so worried the Lakers would be screwed out of a title.
41:14 lol I was standing outside that exact yard house next to staples center when they won. They didn’t have any seats available so we watched from outside while I pulled it up on my phone and had like 10 people huddled around me to watch. 😂 unforgettable times
Thinking about the bubble is bitter sweet to me. On one hand, I was shocked to see my Miami Heat make it to the finals with JB as our one superstar. On the other hand, they made it that far and honestly shouldn’t have lost. Especially after seeing how horrible the Lakers got after winning. Like looking back at it, the loss pisses me off even more. Crazy to think how LeBron’s legacy would’ve looked with another finals loss too.
As a Miami fan as well. They lost because Bam and Dragic got hurt. That's it. But the Lakers would have not ben as bad had AD and LeBron not dealt with injuries the following season, (let's also not forget that the Heat and Lakers had the shortest off season in American Sports history). Then they gutted the team for Westbrook and honestly had they not, they probably would have bounced back like the Heat have.

The NBA Bubble was one of the best things that happened in sports! It was just the players locked in one place duking it out and you realize who were mentally in it and those who weren't the sideline trash talks were louder. Players you didn't expect to perform were dropping big games left and right, Crazy stories outside the bubble after the games. I will always remember the Bubble for getting me through that horrendous time in the world.
I think the bubble shows more than anything on how team chemistry and leadership matters so much in the playoffs. You can see that with the the two teams that made it to the finals. Lebron leading the lakers and Butler leading the heat.
Just gonna say this if this gets views your sub count should blow up. Definitely had to hit the sub button after finishing the video. Keep it going yall you found a format that hopefully works for you guys

Coldwell pope did go crazy that finals game. And playoff rondo . Never seen a championship game where the supporting cast was hitting shots that consistently. Almost wasn’t real
I don't know if it's a hot take, because I feel although many would call me crazy for this, there would be just as many people agreeing. The real COVID season was the 2020-21 season. This season was way more of a fluke than the bubble season (which imo was no fluke at all, I was expecting the Heat to make the finals, because they man handled the Bucks in the RS and were a better team than Boston imo). Milwaukee and Phoenix for example haven't done anything significant since then, the Hawks have barely made the playoffs in every season, Clippers even missed the once and have won just 1 playoffs game since making it (ironically) the only time in their Franchise History to the CF. That was also the only season Miami and Boston weren't really competitive in the last 4 seasons (5 if we include this one). I like CP3, but isn't it ironic his only finals appearance was in 2021. And lets look at Gianni's track record: 2018, lost first round in 7 (not on him) 2019, struggled against Kawhi (I wasn't expecting them to make the finals anyway, I belieeved in Toronto) 2020, struggled badly against Miami, 2022, played well but lost in 2nd round 2023, lost to the 8 seed Heat in 5 (had injuries, but still, they looked lost). Apart from that "fluke" championship, his record is looking pretty bad tbh. Let's see if it changes with Dame, but if so, it's a completely different team. But if he wins against the will of Doc Rivers, I'm gonna own it that I was wrong. But till now, nothing will change my mind that jf any season deserves an asterisk, it's the season after the bubble, and not the bubble, which was maybe the most fair championship in history because everyone was playing under the exact same circumstances.
This is the season that got me into basketball. In the wake of Kobe’s death, I started watching highlights and actually understanding the game. I got into the season as a way to have something on in the background while I was writing. Then the pandemic started. I’ll never forget when the Lakers won. It really felt like a win this city really needed. Fireworks going off everywhere. Those were some great games, and I’ll never forget it.

And lets look at Gianni's track record:
2018, lost first round in 7 (not on him)
2019, struggled against Kawhi (I wasn't expecting them to make the finals anyway, I belieeved in Toronto)
2020, struggled badly against Miami,
2022, played well but lost in 2nd round
2023, lost to the 8 seed Heat in 5 (had injuries, but still, they looked lost).
My favorite part of The Bubble were the Matisse Thybulle vlogs.
its so fun plus some of the vlogs just makes it much more entertaining
I loved it, I never watched more ball in my life than that summer.
It takes time to grow a channel, but you'll get there. I can spot the talent.
yall are so funny 😭😭
McGee CARRIED the bubble with those vlogs ngl
Stimmy check in hand, unemployment rolling in, some of the best pure hooping we've seen in the NBA in a while, and of course the LAKERS won a chip 💜💛
Love the video!!
If you all are wondering, NASCAR was one of the first sports organizations to come back in mid-May
This is the season that got me into basketball.
That's funny Because it was one of the worst season of all time and super rigged
Just got into basketball? How old are you dude?

What the city """needed""" was the fucking lockdown lifted & mask mandate removed, and to stop destroying the lives of people in the restaurant business
