This is the song that got them noticed by Napalm Records and one of the few songs where the lyrics were written by Eugene (Bassist) rather than Tatiana.
This song is an anti-fascist rant. Jinjer have experience with fascists in their motherland, and have no love for such ideology. Of course, in a fascist social order, the vast majority are required to slavishly follow, so your observations were on point.
they are great live ; but there are a few songs where the OMV is preferred , particularly the newer stuff where they really threw a lot of time and money producing some real works of art. the ones where you really should watch the OMV: Vortex , Disclosure , Wallflower , Home Back , No Hoard of Value (those first 3 are all from the last album , the other 2 from earlier albums). Personally, i also prefer the OMV for Mediator and Dreadful Moments , but not mandatory. Perennial is a nice OMV , but the live has become too iconic. Judgement & Punishment is also a really fun OMV , but the vocal 1-take has also become quite iconic. Otherwise, feel free to take whatever version(s) you wish. Lyrics: this is one of 3 songs of theirs that is specifically about politics (along with Home Back and When Two Empires Collide) ; though i will admit that this one goes over my head a little (the other 2 are more straight-forward). otherwise, they _claim_ to be not a political band.
@@tackle47 agreed about the crowd, but that's arguably the best live footage sound-wise and definitely the best footage of two of Tati's best harsh vocal moments the "anymooooorrre-yah!" near the end of Home Back and the "Swiiirrrllll" in Vortex. A good friend of mine watched the official videos of those two songs, said she can't do those two sections live (nor the back-and-forth clean to harsh section in Vortex) and I had him watch the Hellfest 2021 footage and he was like WTF. Later supported by my phone footage after seeing them live myself. Incredible...the whole band.
It is basically an anti-Authoritarian and anti-Fascism song.

Jinjer - Sit Stay Rollover (Live in Melbourne)
Jinjer - Words of Wisdom (Official Live)
This song was played by the former drummer that left the band... he was good as well!
I think you got the meaning correct.

I would add Retrospection as a great mv, great behind the scenes and makes the song hit even more.
The live versions of Vortex and Home Back from the 2021 Hellfest At Home are super banger. Great sound quality
@@ThePizzablogger the sound is good yes but no crowd is a draw back. But you are right in that they played great.
