- The goal of this challenge is to destroy every Badnik in the game.
Have you ever thought, that there are tons of little animals left inside their metallic cages called Badniks? A lot of people completed this game, which objective was to stop Eggman and free the tiny critters. And we decided to help Sonic and Tails to actually free all the animals and destroy every single enemy in the entire game. So Sonic (with his ability to become Super Sonic upon collecting all the Chaos Emeralds) and Tails go on the rescue mission.
Sometimes badnicks do not spawn when you get closer to them from the right to the left. It can be easily fixed by going further to the left and back to the right.

It's _that_ kind of completionism that ruins games for me
I mean, if there was a great unique reward for completing the challenge and the game could actually _save_ it then I'd probably give it a go.

I think that's true for Buzz Bombers from Sonic 1 but not for the Buzzers in Sonic 2's Emerald Hill Zone.
I'm not sure the Asterons actually count since they don't have an animal inside them. Actually, if they DO have animals in them, then... given that none pop out after they self-destruct...

Of all the enemies in this game, my favorite is Grounder for sure.

Sonic 1 just has so many cool enemies that it’s hard to pick a definite favorite unlike Sonic 2. In that case Grounder is my favorite. The runners-up are Clucker and Coconuts

Haha, I forgot this video even existed, let alone making my original comment! I still watch Razor & Zenon's videos on the classic Sonic games from time to time and I'm sure they're sharper now than when this video was published 10 years ago as their other challenge videos are usually flawless.
I'll just add to my original comment that it's lucky the Rexon glitch didn't occur on this run. 😅

I was just asking Knuckles Channel 3 and Knuckles if it was possible to do this challenge and now I have my answer. We have our real Sonic Heroes over here.

I don't think this is possible in Sonic 1 as some are in the walls. Also, dang, badniks beware when this person plays. Sonic is on a robo-rampage.

KamiJoJo there is a cheat you can put into even the original cartridge to have super sonic without doing the half pipes.

Can't destroy all badniks in Sonic 1. Sadly, some spawn in walls.... above bottomless pits.... where they despawn. :(

Where is the Sonic 2 Pacifist Challenge?
Is it possible to make this for sonics 1, 3, 4 and mania?
I know I am replying to a 2 year old comment but I just wanted to say that I have looked into this challenge for Sonic 1 (since I want to try it) and it doesn't seem possible. I "think" most of the levels are possible but Labyrinth Zone is impossible unless you can find a way to zip (glitch) you way to the other routes. Also all of the Scrap Brain acts have the same problem.

I did the all rings challenge
No you didn’t, because its impossible. Some rings are stuck in walls and places you can’t get too. They are leftovers from the beta level designs.
