Many years ago, someone made the original Pacman game using cells as pixels, just as an Excel flex.
I my case it's different, I used to do "miracles" with Excel & Google Sheet but forgot almost everything as I barely used these programs in the past 4 years.

Click anywhere in the data, ctrl A (selects all data), ctrl T (table mode) press okay. Done with filters and colors

Doesn’t work when you have to switch tabs
You are wrong. He is showing something else. Whenever you click on a cell it will hilight that particular row. Shift +enter is to select a particular row rhen you need to select the color. That will be permanent.
How many times over the 40 years I have been using excel I've wanted a quick way to highlight the row across a hundred columns withouit going back to the left side. Now that I'm retired my wish is granted.

This is a red flag on bigger tables specially. Formatting rules are calculation heavy and they get calculated even if you turn of auto calculation. Avoid conditional formatting as much as you can.
I knowwwww. I followed some tutorials and they used a lot of conditional formatting and it made it dynamic and looks nice. But every now and then, the spreadsheet freezes. 😅 I need to set it to auto save and just restart.

Or highlight row by selecting row number (entire row)
The thing is you want to click a number in the table and see the row. Not clicking the row number, especialy if you have a big monitor and want like to see the row highlight of a cel in colum AG for ex, chances are you will select the wrong row number

Just format the Data as a Table (Ctrl+T) and you can play around with the colours of your choice. No code required, simple CTRL+T - "Real" tables are far better than simple formatted rows

unfortunately this will not work, when the file is located in SharePoint and viewed via Browser: the 'cell'-function is unknown for the Web-View-Excel... 😢
You can sync the SharePoint folder to your local pc. (Just click sync in the browser). When the files are synced, open the file in your file explorer.
