This technique is called condition reinforcement and it’s commonly used to teach kids with autism, it was then taken and tried with dogs… a quick google search would’ve told you that. This technique is by far the most effective on kids with autism, there’s nothing wrong for rewarding good behavior.

Why are you assuming there is a "normal" to look like" Just because she is verbal and she is not stimming does not mean you or I have any insights into who this child is off of a less than 4 minute clip. Amazing how people think they can just assume.

Sometimes people make videos for training purposes or to teach a skill to others, doesnt mean the kid is on the Spectrum. Or they could be but just in a way you may not recognize, don't assume anything :) hope that helps

ABA is applied behavior analysis, it is a very complex and intense type of science we have to follow in order for our kiddos to really understand and retain information. For instance her allowing the child to “splat the spider” and then immediately asking the child a question is a common technique we use to test if they really understand what we are teaching because even tho the “spider” is a distraction, she was still able to show her therapist her nose when asked, letting her therapist know okay she really does know what a nose is. I know to people this stuff does seem stupid lol but until you work in the field you wouldn’t really grasp our concepts and ways of working. It truly is a life changing and rewarding science though! I love working in it :)

@@khariskweendom3625 Yes and I have a child with autism. The therapist that see him now say he looks like a recovered child because he interacts like a well child. No ABA or other behavior modification. Oh, my child had ABA for 6 months and he regressed so much he stopped speaking the few words he could. So for me this is stupid.
