I've been into RC for a while, but I'm extremely lazy so I've usually repaired & taped my original bodies till there's more tape than lexan then get another prepainted one.
I've recently started painting bodies, but the ones I've done came with the kit/roller..
I've decided to experiment with fitting aftermarket shells & this is where I've found it gets tricky..
Videos like this are soooooo helpful, it's easy when you know how, eh.!

It is tricky I got to admit, keeping wheel bases in mind helps plus width other than that just got two scales up and aim from there. I am the idiot so I don't know how much I might help you haha thanks bro and you keep safe to. Your comment got held for some dumb reason

Hoodie is the best thing since sliced bread haha, I'd of painted it but one colour is dam boring to me and crap to look at. Paint will be soon this needs to be ripped around.

I've had the mount from AliExpress and they came pretty fast but that just my lucky experience haha. Its definitely worth the £20 dude all the little touches with your green and black will look amazing. Don't know what colours I'm going yet maybe (white,blue,black) gutted the mounts are out of stock again how lucky was I to get a set then? Count my chickens some days.

I really like that shell. I would get one but my 144 is still in bits! Really need to find the time to fix it, I got all the parts ready, I'm just lazy.
It's worth the time to put your car back together just to fit one of these haha. You'll need the longer chassis this is for the 124 though not the 144. Send it to me and I'll get it done.

I'll send it to you with all the new bits and the old bits, you decide what to do with it maybe make a vid on it, review the metal upgrades and inform people why they aren't worth the money and show them why cos they really are a pain in the ass and why I haven't tackled the repairs yet. You fix it up and give it to Jade as her basher. I'll send what batteries and chargers I've got too. I'm just gonna save up a bit and get Kyosho Mad Van instead cos they're awesome. I'm yet to spray the body to many ideas 😂 the wheels are from wheelspin models 26mm wide fit the shell nice.

The very front of the foam bumper sits 70mm from the front of the shock tower an is the width of the chassis. It's curved , at the edges it pokes out 35mm Infront of the wheels an 40mm in the center , the foam can be easily trimmed to suit the contour of the front of the shell if need be.

I made my own with Velcro you buy from eBay, can't remember the length. I made my own because it's a weird width on the wltoys.

when you cut out the wheel arches you have full travel on all 4 wheels, do you only need to make out the old tire, on all 4 sides to achieve this ? also what is best for cutting i have a dremel and full tool kit, or a scalpel or scissors, or a brand new stanley knife :D
Well you've got all the weapons 🤙stick with a scalpel if your steady or a rounded pair of scissors.
Yes I use the thickness of the pen when going around the tire, that helps give the gap I need.
Get a protractor a make a few circles cut them out as stencils for your arches.

1/10 body shell may be a little big, but if you think it'll fit try it and let us know.

It just slots onto the shock tower and you add two screws.
You can have them facing any way you wish before mounting the body.

You can put the mounts on any way you want, I went for inside position so the screws face out.
Put your mounts on and test fit the body, you can see right through it so if you don't like the post position change them around and fit the body again.
Just type in (contact foam tyres) you'll find them super simple.
I've hit the same problem with my front wheels just catching on the body. Do you have any tips on adjusting things for it to fit underneath the body? I was possibly thinking of machining some thinner hex connectors to bring the wheels in a few mm
You can add some camber to the front wheels which will bring the top of the tyre under the shell. Or like you suggest bring the face of the hex down 1-2mm, metal hexes will be easier to work with.
Those are the best ways around it, one other way is to add a bump stop to the shocks limiting when they bottom out. Hope those two suggestions work but I like your idea better for a nice even look 😉

If i buy a WLToys 124017 (that is basically a 124019 that has brushless system) what would i absolutelly need to change or buy in order to fit this body other than the body mounts?

Those wheel are (contact foams) you can pick them up everywhere, no link needed really Google "contact foams"
The wheels are important to keep them close within the arches, buy other wheels and they may stick out the arches. Apart from the wheels it's the body mounts from LC racing, literally it's that simple dude.
@@mehimrc1314 but whats the hex size and the outer diameter of that wheel set , wanted to get it as close to how you did to avoid rubbing
The diameter of the tire is 65mm i believe most contacts for this scale are that size. Width was 26mm with a hex size of 12mm hope this information helps

There grub screw that come in the body post kit, that's how LC racing mounts hold in place.
