The 1996 4Runners were missing the B pillar body mounts. However, the holes are present in the floor of the cab, there is just a plug in them. When I added a body lift to my 96, I purchased the mounts and welded them on. I kind of chuckled when you cut yours off the new frame thinking of the work I did to add mine. Thanks for the awesome Toyota content, keep the videos coming.
Just found this channel. I almost didn't click on it but glad I did. That was a fun thing to watch. You did a great job. I had a 3rd gen and miss it to this day. I'm currently in a 4th gen V8 but have been trying to stay ahead of the rust. It's not bad yet but seeing how you used the engine hoist to pull the body, gives me hope I can do this at home.!! Subscribed and in for all the content 👌👍👍👍
I'm so mad. I was at the gambler 500 today with the flat bed unloading trash and you said hey and nice load and I was too awkward to talk much back to you and tell you how much your videos have helped me with building my second gen. Glad to see you and God speed with gamblin lad
Such a useful video omg. Thank you for demonstrating this sketchy looking but very effective and working solution before I tried something similar and hurt myself lmao also great idea with taking the Corolla patch panel! Gonna save this and watch it a few times when I actually do this with my 97 montero. Thanks brother!
I need that rocker panel video!!!! I just picked up a 3rd gen from an auction and I have some body rust to address. Looking forward to your resto to get ideas and tips for mine!
Inspirational material. I have a 93 4runner that I have frame swapped for the exact same reason. So much rust the back shock was flopping around. Also just did the 3.4 swap recently and am now chasing a lean code. Spartan in the back. Want to SAS and 63 the back eventually. Love your vids!!!!
Nice done. I used the same grinder/wire wheel setup when I did the frame on my 91. Those rouge wire bits flinging out and sticking into your skin really suck!
I'm getting ready to por15 my frame on my frame off 91 pickup. From the toyota forums I have been reading, everyone says to leave all the factory frame coating possible. I bought a por15 kit with degreaser, etcher, and paint. What are your thoughts?
Did you ever notice the sixth generation Honda Civic and a second generation 4Runner have a wheelbase that's within a 10th of an inch (I don't know what that converts to in millimeters lol )
Just a little tip- flip those 4x2s long ways upright, they are much stronger to downward pressure that way 👍🏼 keep up the good work!
Great to see a build done with tools and budget the average guy realistically could pull off
It's funny how many channels I've seen go from dirt to huge shop and lifts and cnc.
Dude you're an artist. I jus bought a 98 4Runner at an auction. I'll be copying a lot of what you did thanks for the videos.

Did the same thing to remove a body 24 years ago on a 85 4Runner

Looking forward to the rust fix on the body..
Nice video, I have a Toyota FJ that needs a frame swap. After watching this I think I can do it. Thanks!
the frame looks awesome man! nice job!
Damn, i need a friend like you.
Yay for garage kitty at 7:38
Hi , 55 gal. drums are good for a lot of things .good job looking forward for the rest of the build ,

“Wire wheel removes rust” what a time to be alive 😂
Sure does. Flapper disk is better, but can't get it in alot of spots.

Lookin good dude
I'm shocked that you were able to use POR15 without gloves, and somehow come out with clean hands. 🤣
Everything looks great dude! Coming along nicely.
Brake clean immediately after 🤣

what the heck murder scene happened next door at 11:51 ?!?!?! i guess the kid really hates rain? lol...
I live across from a school... they ruin shots all the time 🤣
can u do this with the engine still in it
Probably not with my barrel method. Will not get body high enough.
😊😊😊😊😊
that "new" frame is from what?
A 2001 4Runner.
That might be a 3rd gen frame.
This guy has tremendous hair 👨🦰
Wow! This was a busy week. So much tedium little work. With gas vehicles going extinct, making the ones we still have perfected will soon be the norm.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Donor frame Is probably a surf
It's not. I took the body off the frame. It was a 3.4L 4Runner. Just from a 2000 not a 96
@@DirtGarage I was assuming based off the gear ratio my Turbo Diesel Surf '96 has 3.52 gear aswell, Not sure what else would use such a high ratio lol
👍👊
That might be a 3rd gen frame.
That might be a 3rd gen frame.
It is a 3rd gen frame. I removed the cab from it.
@@DirtGarage oh I thought your wife’s 4runner was a second gen at first cuz the frame looked a little different but I see now there both 3rd gens.
