Nathan, I was just talking to my boss Todd Kivimaki (Spiro & Wow Video Tours) and he said he just spoke to you. I said....CRAZY, I was just watching some of your tutorials yesterday trying to help our editors with their twilight editing. What a small world!

Nathan, could you do a video showing how to light and shoot interiors in the late afternoon /sunset /twilight time?

Fantastic! Thanks so much Nathan. This is so much easier that what I've been doing. I love your books and videos.

I've heard another RE photographer say that if you're shooting windy twilights you actually want your shutter speed to be faster to compensate. Wouldn't a longer shutter speed have any moving branches turn out blurry?

It depends on a number of factors. I break this down further in my Pro Exteriors course, here's a link if you'd like to check that out: ProExteriors.NathanCool.com

Great stuff NC. I don’t understand the darker sky’s purpose other than pulling down the highlights. Did you use that layer for the sky at all?

    • @NathanCoolPhoto

Thanks! The darker exposure allows the sky to blend with the swap better, especially around the trees. Also, as I showed at one point, it can be used to tone-down bright lights on the house or other overly bright areas.

Hi Nathan, I so love work work here. I am so glad I came across you. One question I have is how come you don't use the auto Sky Replacement under Edit? It seems to me for the most part it works fine. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! The technique I show here uses the underlying algorithm used by the Sky Replacement feature, but it provides you much more control, and is easier to manage. Here's another video on that as well: ruclips.net/video/cOiEAX1eASk/видео.html

Hey , I just watched another one of your videos , day to dusk, from about a year ago .
I was curious, do you know if what you do here and on there is possible on the iPad photoshop express app?
I’m debating whether to get an iPad to do editing out and about and I like the idea of using a pen to do work too .
But I’m not as well versed in this , so I’m wondering if you have any knowledge on this? It’s be ideal if these types of edits could all be done within the iPad version .
    Any help?

Hey there, heythere6983. Short answer: No. Long answer, I cover this in greater detail in my pro exteriors course at LearnRE.NathanCool.com The pro exteriors course also comes with RAW files with examples for doing twilights and faux twilights as well, similar to my other courses, which also come with RAW files.

You need a newer version. If you have Photoshop CC, update to the latest version.
