i am a guitarist from congo, surely i am so glad to see young people getting into playing and research about rumba from congo...but nevertheless i would like to correct about so called the HINT OF JAZZ..it is not jazz..listen to the great guitarists of 70s and 80s..ok jazz,afriza african jazz,zaiko and so.... some still alive...they played everything you are playing and more crazy links from jazz progressions and it was called rumba!!..But keep up the good work and listen more to the greats u will never go wrong!!! research as u create.
Thank for the note, I have called it a hint of jazz because of the principle that all notes can be played for an improvisation including the chromatic scale, which is a principle from jazz as I have been taught. But you are right 😊👍🏾

I mostly listen to congolese gospel rumba and seben song like Vox Dei, Mike Kalambay, Moïse Matuta etc. Or you can stay tuned to my Channel to listen to the sebenes and rumbas I am about to upload very soon 😉

Can I really play Seben guitar finger-style? I can't seem to play with the pick well. I feel like a beginner when using a pick since from the start I stated paying classical guitar finger style.
I think you should chose one style for the beginning either finger style or pick, depending on which style you are most likely to play so it will be your priority to master. Then you will practice to get the other styles
