Arggh and we neeeeed more drone shots of jugger!!! :D I would love to see a whole hole Zonis VS Rigor game from the bird perspective! One day! Maybe after the WCC :)
Thanks! Feel free to recommend and share the video, views are the fuel of my work here. Oh and the symbols: Free to use and download as well. (thanks for crediting though, even by a short mention and link on a corresponding web page ;) )
Excellent question. Yes, they can get hit, and even the hands are valid hit zones. If they are, they have to go down as everyone else and count their 5/8 stones. If they are holding teh skull, they have to release it.
@@musculusiv4172 If the quick thinks they are about to get hit, they can throw the ball towards the opposing goal / away from their own goal, this is often a good tactic.
From what I've picked up listening to different sword fighting channels, two swords at the same time is often to less effective than being to make full use of one sword, or a sword and a shield
That is sort of the point. If someone cheats, this will be noted sooner or later. if everyone would follow that example, the game would become pointless. (Plus, don't underestimate the referees ... and video capture frequently done at German tournaments). Thus, the game itself trains to play *fair*, since one is rewarded by a having very good time and competition :)
If you habitually cheated, the other players would notice and call you on it, and make you change your ways, or not invite you back. At a tournament, the refs are watching! (as well as lots of spectators, who I'm sure would tell the refs).
So in short it's a wimpy safe version of the movie game. Could be better with American Football padding and stiff plastic weapons following THE movie rules.
Hah, this one you will get in the Czech Republic, check them out. Also, the Red Dirt Jugger Club in the US is closer to the "physical" movie variant of Jugger. Even there ... you know ... broken bones are not *that* popular nowadays. But don't be mistaken, the sports variant is pretty demanding physically as well, just try it out on a tournament ...
Bah, that would be wimpy as well, just like "American Football" is, which by the way should be called "American Handegg", if you _really_ want to show the world how much of a man you are, start doing HMB with no armor, as you're obviously so badass you don't need it.

Me: wanting to play this obscure game
Also me: having like 2 freinds.
My local university has a team. I would pay tickets to watch this unique game!
Well done. I really like the different symbols you made for all the spars. :)

@@lotli4453 It will come. Be sure about that. Just poke Jugger Masterclass ;)

1:37 wow that is a throwback having been there being part of one of the swedish teams (bergslagstrollen)
Cool :)
Can the runner get hit? Or are they immune? If they get hit do they just lose? That’s the only part I’m not sure about. Could you explain them?

@@Jugger_Coachwhat are stones?
A 'stone' is the gong that sounds every 1,5s
finally a sport i won't suck at
Get into boffer. Especially larger battles.
Or play at a tournament (15-40 teams) and participate in a All divided in Two Teams fun match at the end. That is real fun.
@@Jugger_Coach damn son, get a load of that.
This looks awesome, and with some professionally produced equipment the hits could probably be expanded to allowing hitting the head and thrusting.
Thanks
If only I had 10 friends
You might find them through Jugger ;)
If you have 9 you could still play it and with just a single friend you can both practice dueling
you only need 9 because you can play as well
What exactly do you mean by counting down stones when a player is hit? Is it like drum beats or something?
Yes, drums play every 1.5 seconds.
We finally got Griffball in real life
What's that? O.o
@@Jugger_Coach Halo custom game that made it into a full playlist.
The only reason I know anything about this game is because it was actually in an old movie😎
Is it allowed/viable to pass the "ball" under any of the jugger rulesets?
That's the only thing that would be missing in this sport for me... 🔥🔥
Passing is not an issue since you only have one qwik. So there is no-one to pass to under the usual rules.
@@Jugger_Coach Very sad but thx for the reply.
If I were to design a jugger-variant I would allow the enforcers to catch/carry the ball as well
@@musculusiv4172 If the quick thinks they are about to get hit, they can throw the ball towards the opposing goal / away from their own goal, this is often a good tactic.
Dude, we need this in America
Can a runner steal the ball if the opposing teams runner with the ball is down counting their 5 or 8 stones?
The skull/ball has to be dropped by the qwik. So, yes, the other qwik can take it; they even could steal it from a "live" opponent.
All this from one of my favorite 80s B rated movies js
In all the clips I've watched of this game, I have never seen someone two shortswords at once. Do you know why that is?
From what I've picked up listening to different sword fighting channels, two swords at the same time is often to less effective than being to make full use of one sword, or a sword and a shield
Makes sense. Thanks! @@AGMertzy
The game is amazing, but please don’t call that a ball. It’s definitely not a ball.
Absolutely true. Yet for beginners, it's just easier to grasp then "Skull" (or even German "Jugg"), and the function of the Skull is that of a ball.
@@Jugger_Coachah, now I understand why it is called Jugger
I can think in a thousand ways to cheat in this game. If I can so does everyone, so I would never play this game even though it seems a lot of fun.
