    I was an advanced intermediate skier for 30+ years. Over the last 3 years I have fallen back in love with this sport, and I have worked hard at improving both my fitness and my technique so that I could have even more fun out on the hills. Last year was my first on these and they did everything I asked them to do. I stayed on groomers mostly but had a couple days where the afternoons were full of ice and chop. This ski handled it all very well. I am a larger skier who favors speed and big curves, and this ski never let me down or seemed over matched. I love the versatility and the design, and I cant wait to get back out there on these things.

    Got my M Pro 90`s at the end of the 2022 season.
    They seemed a little slow out of the box so, I had a treatment done to the bottoms.
    Now we`re traveling at the desired speed
    Oh yeah !
    Locally in Minnesota they proved to do well on anything that I could find in these parts.
    They felt very firm and sure under all conditions.
    Out West is where these babies loved to get down.
    Bumps, Crud or Corduroy
    I was absolutely amazed.
    Drive those shovels hard down the hill,
    cut a tight turn or carve something big GS wise, you are right at home. .

    Thanks as always! How does it compare to the BC Serpo/ Ranger/ Rustler 9 group? Seems like it would be close to those but a stronger version of the ranger maybe?

      There's more consistent energy in the M-Pro versus the Ranger, which is a bit more flexible in the tips and tails while being solid and stable underfoot. The M-Pro isn't quite the soft snow specialist of the Rustler or Ranger, lining up better with the Serpo in terms of character, albeit 8 mm narrower.

    Does this float okay in deeper snow? Also what size would you recommend for 5’8 158 lbs expert. Love this channel it’s been super helpful!

      There's a limit to the depth--I'd say 6 inches is about the comfort level, mainly due to the stiffer tail. The shovel is more floaty than the tail, with a lot of rocker and a smooth taper shape. On trail, it's amazing in all capacities. I'd go 170 in that ski. Have fun!

    Curious how this might compare (or not) to the Mirus Cor… specifically with how they ski, as the construction/shaping’s obv fairly different in some key ways

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  7 месяцев назад +1

      The big difference is in that shovel, and that affects how the ski hooks into a turn. With the Mirus Cor, it hooks, while with the M-Pro, it does not. You have to pressure the front of the ski in a more traditional manner with the Dynastar, and while some skiers may find that enticing and satisfying, others will gravitate more to the Mirus Cor that does more of the work for you. Additionally, the tip and tail measurements, as well as the rocker profile, is a lot more symmetrical in the Black Crows so it behaves better when skied centrally. This is not the case with the Dynastar in that the flex and rocker in the shovel is far different and more accessible than in the tail, which is a lot stiffer and more responsive than the Mirus Cor. I'd rather ski the Dynastar in bumps and trees while the Mirus Cor is so much darn fun on a groomer.

    Hi I like Dynastar skis and have the 178 Cham 87s which for me work really well on and off piste. I am looking for a refresh and i would be grateful if you would give me a view on whether these are a worthy upgrate? thanks ian

      This M-Pro 90 is the natural progression from Cham 87. They had a few skis in between, but the M-Pro is the modern version. You still get a very capable tip shape for softer snow and a very poppy and energetic tail that holds great in firmer conditions.

    How does it compare to M-Cross 88? I watched both videos but struggle to extract that understanding.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  4 месяца назад +1

      Tip shape is one of the biggest differences, and tail metal as well. The M-Pro has a narrower shovel with longer rocker while the M-Cross has a wide shovel and more camber. This makes the M-Cross hook into a carve way easier, but is more one-dimensional as a result. The M-Pro can make varied turn shapes and styles with more skier input, making it more versatile in different conditions. Through the tail, the M-Pro's metal extends back further and wider, so the tail is actually very responsive and energetic. It's harder to release the tail of the 90, and that's part of the charm. The 88's tail is slightly more flexible, and given the shorter turn radius, this makes it easier to access the entirety of the arc. If the tail is too stiff and the radius is short, then you are basically on a FIS slalom ski. By making it more flexible, skiers of the mere mortal realm will be able to feel the whole carve in the M-Cross.

      Nope! We'll see a refresh in construction and shape for 2025 with the M-Pro 94!

    How would this compare to the kendo 88?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  5 месяцев назад

      It's right there in terms of energy and pop out of the tails, but the M-Pro 90's shovels are straighter and more amenable to softer snow and more agile turns. The Kendo is more locked in from tip to tail.

    How does this ski handle at speeds? I like going very fast in all conditions and I like everything about this ski but I wanna be sure it can handle that speed.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  9 месяцев назад +2

      Actually really well. It has a very strong and sturdy build to it and a longer than average turn radius. This makes it very stable at speed and will go over and through a lot of different adverse conditions and terrain. Something like the Volkl Kendo 88 or the Blizzard Brahma 88 might have a leg up when it comes to pure speed, but these do really quite good.
