Spooky Tooth's studio version of I Am The Walrus is the best version ever done of that song IMHO. Grosvernor's searing guitar lead on that tune coupled with Gary Wrights Hammond organ build up in the backgroud is out of this world. As the saying goes kick ass.

Chris Stainton plays piano and organ on The last puff.
John Hawken (ex-Renaissance) played live on this european tour (1970/1971).
      Great studio version for sure.

But very few have heard it or know of the group. But 50 year later ,it don't matter . What matters is Kelly Ripa, and breakfast at Beyonce and her imported cantaloupe.

Their second Record 'Two' was an epanomous, Epic recording for that tIme ,during a very vibrant, creative, and incredibly competitive year. They IMO, later opened the way for Bands, like Free & Bad Company / -Tooth ,though were their own 100%

Ceremony was their kryptonite, released as a Spooky Tooth LP in spite of the band's strong objections and desire to only be credited as session musicians.
IMO, Harrison ranks right up there with Marriott and Rodgers as some of the greatest voices in British rock. And, Grosvenor, aka Ariel Bender's playing on Evil Woman is still classic.

@BGoldtone Only thing wrong there is Gary isn't on that album. He split right after the disaster that was "Ceremony". "The Last Puff" album is made up of covers precisely because Wright was no longer there to provide original material. It's also the reason that album is credited as "featuring Mike Harrison" since, at the time, he was the only one of the two lead singers left to "feature".
