    I'd also like to add that you would clean up the recording path by pressing the button in the truck UI to hide the path nodes. If you have multiple trucks running across your world intersecting paths, it becomes very chaotic very quickly.

    This was the exact tutorial I needed at the exact right time! Thank you for a short and concise video, good sir!

    I was annoyed at the lack of a proper loop (i.e. the tractor not facing the direction it needs to go for the next trip at the end), but then was super surprised the thing actually reversed out and did a little spin to turn around, super clean.

    FYI. You do not have to press F to load or unload while recording unless you have two stations close together.
    Trucks will automatically use any truck station they cross paths with. But if you do have two stations close together, then pressing F to load/unload tells the truck which station it should use.

      You can also delete the node telling it to load/unload on the unwanted stops as well

      For reasons. For fun Trucks could be nice but are not really a valide alternative to conveyers.

    I first discovered your channel with the great ACS playthroughs. As always, your tutorials and advice are very good. I didn't know I could drive over the waypoints on the way back. I'm about to drive the tractor for the first time in 1.0 in the Dune Desert. Only other time I played around with a truck was in 0.8, and it did not go well. lol Thanks for all your work.

    Thanks for the guide! I am new to the game and I am not yet using trucks. Now that I have seen your guide I will probably have a few drive around. I am sure I can find something for them to do.

    The tutorial is clear, and your diction is very understandable for a non-English speaker. However, it's unfortunate that you avoided and forgot the most important point: what to do when you're not transporting coal! Because then there's the problem of refueling your truck...

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  2 месяца назад

      Well I've shown where the fuel gets loaded in. What do you need to know more?
      Producing and bringing fuel to the truck station wasn't a topic for this tutorial, as it would've made it easily double as long.

    • @SkyBoxGaming

      Early game Bio-mass would best (and only) alternative. But load it into the same spot as the Coal and you'll be good

    You can edit your path, change the time you wait at each station, remove markers along the path so and the macro will make its way between the two separate ones and make your markers show or be invisible

    • @maartentops1703
      @maartentops1703 2 месяца назад +2

      If only you could nudge the markers instead of only deleting them. One little mistake and you have to re-record the entire trip.

    Good information, well presented, as usual sir. I noticed that you did NOT hit the bird when you drove up to unload. What a nice guy!
    I also follow my tractor after recording the pathing, but I jump on top and let it take me for a ride-along.
    You can approach one of the triangles or pause icon and edit that specific waypoint, if you need that. There are reasons to delete waypoints, or change the time the tractor spends at a station.

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  2 месяца назад +3

      Thanks a lot for these add ons! I didn't jump on the truck for riding along cause one of my first "experiments" ended tossing itself into a chasm :D
      Good point on the editing of waymarkers, I should've talked about that. Thanks for your comment o/

    I appreciate the effort, but this is step one. I need a further look at how to "fuel" multiple stations. Other than adding another station strictly for fuel, I have no idea. Unless there's a node nearby! GG's on the vid!

    Exactly what I need.
    I was getting tired of driving around and getting coal by myself.
    Which would be better as a road?
    Foundations or walkways or is there a road in the Awesome store?

    • @Ic0nGaming

      You can buy foundations with the Asphalt road look in the Awesome store, I personally like these a lot. You instantly know where your car should drive with these.

    Hi i was wondering, why should i use trucks? wouldn't running it on a belt just be easier? that way you get a steady supply. Can someone explain?

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  2 месяца назад

      Trucks do carry a lot of items. Before you get a Mk3 or Mk4 belt down, the truck should usually beat the transport speed of the belt.
      Besides that it's also just a matter of taste. I bet you could beat the entire game without using a single Truck or Train whatsoever. It's a sandbox factory game after all.
      But trucks have one big advantage over other vehicles: They are relatively free to seek their path. You can even re-write their driving script without needing to build too much infrastructure. Roads obviously help, but they are not a must have, like Rails for a Train would be a must have.
      Hope this helps to give you an idea or two how to use trucks =)

    • @JohnDiew
      @JohnDiew 2 месяца назад

      Trucks should be used for medium distance transport. Such as collecting ores from one region to the train station before being transported via railway to your main factory.

  • @sgstudioofficial

    Tutorial is a bit too careful: in some EA update trucks were refined and would warp through obstacles if they would get stuck so there is no actual need to verify path unless you want to be aesthetic as well.
