Funny thing is, you don't realise how similar the lifestyles of African and Asian families in the first world are ever so similar. Everyone's cheap af. Dats why I relate to my Asian friends so much

@@n4musica exactly! taking our shoes off before entering our homes, using spices, cleaning our butts with water without needing toilet paper, scrubing ourselves when showering and using a shower bowl (scoop)... everyone but white people (Europe and N.America) be doing it! hahaha and i'm not even asian!

I agree with Nigel. Freezing your eggs is a insurance policy that your eggs will be “young” whenever you’re ready to have kids. It’s an insurance policy, it buys your time and gives you peace of mind. My humble opinion, as a physician and see a lot of women with fertility problems down the line.

Filipinos wrap their luggage in saran wrap because there have been several incidents where people were 'shaken down' by corrupt airport employees over planted illegal items. So it's not just theft we are afraid of. Getting shaken down at the airport is a thing too.

Listening to Nigel give Evelyn dating/sex advice is kind of healing for me. Ya gal is ace and hasn't dated in years, and nopes out of every convo I start on these dating apps. Most of the time it's effort. It used to be so much easier to just suggest we get coffee or something, but I live in the US and it's hard with COVID. Cheering you on Evelyn! I'm moving into my own condo now, and gonna get back on the horse *again* again after home ownership is achieved

Nigel, if you ever come back to Sweden and want to get condoms easier, go to a pharmacy. They have shelfs for intimate stuff, and from there you can grab condoms like it's nothing

I think this has to be my favourite podcast yet from you guys! I was watching this whilst getting ready for work at about 6:30am and having a proper loud belly-laugh at the condom story (and then had to remind myself to be quiet as my neighbours might not yet be awake).
I love the idea of Nigel being the Chinese Condom Leprechaun who pops up with his flute, killer catchphrase and then starts throwing condoms at Evelyn whilst she's trying to prowl: that has to be made into a sketch!
Evelyn: more of that tigress in action please - you sound like you were on fire and totally in control at the karaoke bar. If you can muster up that inner tigress (but without the fake hair-flipping and looking coy) then you will definitely be onto a winner with getting it on with someone.
Nigel: it's really refreshing to see someone being so chilled out and matter-of-fact about buying condoms too - I mean I cringe like hell when buying them but if they were normalised like buying a toothbrush then there'd be less stigma and more people practising safe sex (haha practicing sex - that sounds so cringey). Shows a very mature and healthy approach to being sexually active, and that is a good thing!
Anyway, rather than have the images of what Nigel and Evelyn are getting up to (separately) off-camera playing out in my mind, I'm going to simply say stay safe out there and can't wait to see more of these hilarious podcasts. xx

In several asian countries there are theft what inside your luggage WITHOUT removing your keys. There are tricks to do it and those plastic wrap are one of those ways to prevent that

konjac is a type of rhizome/potato. you'd probably recognise the japanese konyakku jelly which is made from konjac. it's supposed to be zero calories and filling. anyway thanks for the great episode!
Konjac rice/ noodle is pretty popular diet/rice replacement sometimes ago in Indonesia. I found it pretty filling but I got hungry faster than usual
It's those noodly things used in sukiyaki. Japanese people like the gray ones. White people like the white-ish ones.

In Japanese it's called konyaku. You may have heard it called that before. It's usually in oden or in a noodle form (shirataki) in sukiyaki. Japanese use konyaku as a diet food since it has so little calories.

I'm from Taiwan and I went to Sweden with my grandmother in January. I mean, it just feels nice when you can get some money back. Also when we went to Japan (with VAT rate for about 8~10%), we still do the VAT refund(? thing lol.
