Territorial imperatives are currently creating wars worldwide. You need to lose your home to a couple who you owe 10K to for doing work they did for themselves, and how they really desired to see it fixed up, then walk away smiling with peace in your heart that it was the right thing to let them do. 😂 Study history some more? Many many wars have been fought over land since the beginning of time.

Mehdi is not a stable person and should get some help. His behaviour is erratic (but maybe that's a cult leader trait). The couple was foolish to invest so much money and even purchase such a litigious property, especially given they already had been in legal dispute with Mehdi. Unfortunately their children are the real victims of their poor decisions. The Sheriff and locally municipality needs to take responsibility for their role in creating a trap for all parties involved. Their incompetence has ultimately created this problem.

That was far from a poor decision, if they didn't get the property someone else would have and flipped into millions just like that cpl did, and would have either lived in it or sold it for millions, if that creep would have paid the 10,000, he wouldn't be in this mess, so you think crazy guy would have come up with 10,000, if he was properly notified of auction, I seriously doubt it, and shame on him if he made this cpl, jump through hoops to get the money that he owed them, he deserves nothing, but a "We are sorry we didn't notify you properly of the auction, to be fair you knew you owed these people 10,000, and you choose not to pay them in a very very timely matter, and you personally chose to make this cpl wait years because you are an evil person." That's all that freak deserves. His 40 acres though, ouch, why on earth would the sheriff think they needed to include that, right off the bat, they should have waited to see if they at least got the amount they needed from the initial property, then proceeded with the 40 acres if needed.

As a Canadian witnessing the housing crisis unfold in my country, it's disheartening to see an American and a Brit fighting over land here while I struggle to afford a home. The soaring prices and limited availability of housing have created immense challenges for many Canadians, myself included. While international interest may drive up property values, it exacerbates the struggle for locals to secure affordable housing.

International customers have also done the same here in rural Newfoundland. Anything decent comes on the market, gets listed over priced locally which happens to be under market value in the international customers markets and they scoop them up. When I was a kid here, I knew every person and where everyone's house was, nowadays I'm an adult and I dont know half the people in my own little community anymore. Luckily I got my house before any of this became an issue here, otherwise I don't know how I would have afforded it.

Tell me, you'd be okay with hiring someone to work on your house, and they take it away from you plus 40 acres of property you owe for less than $3,000.? The Nova Scotia government need to be held accountable with the Sheriff. Pay the Teniswoods there recorded investments back, and give the guy his house back. Although, he should have intervened much sooner, -not when all of the renovations were done. He doesn't deserve millions after the house is returned to him. His taxes with be higher now as well, and he did not approve the additional renos. Do the same for other community members who are victims of this Sheriff as well. Lesson learned by all.

That "payment due" date was inevitably coming, nothing is for free especially real estate. If not the bank, many private investors would have jumped at this loan...utilizing the house/property as collateral. They could do an immediate sale for profit...no brainer. Besides, plenty of acknowledged emails were sent to tormented artist. But hey, emails are just as easy to ignore as a Payment Arrears Notice for the amount of $10 K right? THAT was the snowball pushed down the mountain, gaining snow and size as it rolled.

Seems like everyone has their hands dirty. Mehdi is a psycho actor who knew what was happening and was too irresponsible to pay. The Tenniswoods should have known that you can’t just pay 3,000 for a house. And then they fight the auction price they put the bid for.? The sheriff’s office and Government need to make restitution as well for their mistakes. What a mess.

They should have brought a class action lawsuits against the Provence of Nova Scotia.
Somebody better do a mental health check on Mattie. Why would he be making underhanded threats to the family that did so much work on that house? He should direct his anger towards those that are illegally seizing property out from under the citizens there.
As for the family that sunk themselves into debt on that house. I wouldn’t have done any work on it until I knew for a fact that the sale was legal. Nova Scotia owes these people for all the hell they’ve caused these families.

The Tenniswood's renovated the home in 2018 for the previous owner.
Returned in 2021 and participated in the auction, winning it at $50k for 48 acres, a house and a lighthouse (something smells fishy here). Thereafter they paid $2990.00 in taxes/court fines and did not pay another cent for the purchase of the property as instructed by local authorities.
They also want over $780k for the pre-sale of the deeds after a 2 year investment??
The Sheriff should be fined and so should his boss for authorising the auction&sale and not acquiring possession of the $50k to deem the sale legit. Its unfortunate that the paperwork does not mean a thing if authorities admit the error.
In all Mehdi's defence I would be furious and mentally unstable if this was my legacy.
    A. the error was initiated with an illegal auction notice, i.e. there was none.
    B. The Tenniswood's have no claim and should seek remuneration from the sheriffs office. Trying to get free property is outrageous. I hope to see the outcome and hope both parties get a win.

But there wasn’t an illegal auction? He was well warned and lies about not receiving emails.. who doesn’t receive emails? No one! If the email address is confirmed he received them. Obviously this guy wants that place because for him it was free.. he inherited it.. by likely caring for the real landowner before death he inherited property in New York.. obviously the brownstone he lives in.. as well as that property in Canada that he was not paying any attention to. All it means for him is inheritance lost meaning free money lost. Because his art isn’t making him any serious money. This couple is owed their money plus the interest associated with the fact that they lost their home because of a mess that the city put them in. “My pain is worth millions of dollars” mehdi claims..absolutely not., he just wants millions for free!

@@prawnstar9213- There is the point of other innocent property owners startled when they discover that they’re properties as well were sold off by auction
‘without’ due process. I doubt the others were lying when they claim that emails & property notices never occurred. Plus the dodgey interview with a very evasive government employee and the proof of N.S.
government trying to shuffle the deck for years while the family is renegades to living on land in a trailer? Clearly, there’s MORE to this than meets the eye.

Disclaimer, I don’t live in Canada. Is it not strange to anyone else that a 10k debt can trigger a property seizure and auction of, in this case 40 acres? With no reserve amount set that is somewhere near comparable to market value? Also, can your property also be auctioned for unpaid tickets?

I’m confused was it titled to you and your brother since you say it was yours or tilted to your mother since it was sold out from under her indicating she was the actual owner? Best thing is when you’re expecting to inherit property from a relative is ensure the property taxes are paid and current. Same for any HOA fees. That helps it pass to the intended heirs when the rightful owner passes on.
