He should mount a fan like the 12 volt fan he has over the sink. But out one like right behind where the passenger seat is to blow the air from the a/c unit to the back of the bus.
I’ve had my 2005 F150 van for 5 years with various configurations including the pump faucet with fresh and grey water containers. I am a lady on social security and have done everything myself including the max air fan, suitcase Zamp solar for my fridge, but need help to insulate and tear out the wall and ceiling liner to finish it and be more comfortable. I took the passenger seat out this summer and bought a swamp cooler which takes 85 watts and use a little power station for that. Now I just have various water containers up to 27 gallons. I’m hoping to connect with someone to do the insulation work next summer. I’m in Colorado now but heading south to NM and onto Quartzite for the cold months. Maybe something will work out! I LOVE simplicity too!
Thank you Isaac. Shane's obviously a very talented builder. Great job. A lot of thought put into his builds, if this van is anything to by. And like me, an animal lover. Beautiful buddy he has in his girl Milly there. She is one loved puppy. Love that.💕
I am an Rn and we were taught that there is no problem washing dishes in cold water vs hot. Our hands can not take water hot enough to actually kill all germs, even with gloves on. Ppl always comment about this. 🤷🏻♀️ Happy trails! Love and light.
Totally. But washing off a plate that had a steak on it with cold water….The fat sticks to the plate and get all in the sponge and becomes a bigger mess and you waste more water. So you take a paper towel and wipe it off first, then wash saving a lot of water. It’s not because of sanitary
@@Shane.Dennnis I eat keto and I was just about to make a similar comment. I use half a paper towel to wipe down my plate and silverware. Then I have a spray bottle filled with white vinegar that I missed them down with and use the other half of the paper towel to wipe that off. I generally don't use any water at all and a spray bottle full of vinegar last me over a month.
For a single person I like this layout. To sit were he sits by the sink it looks comfy 💞 I would add a slide out counter over the stove or a lagoon type table and a place to put the table outside for cooking. Over all I like it.
“I drink about a 12 pack of seltzer a day. I don’t drink alcohol so I don’t consider it a problem”- best statement ever and I relate. Also, I love how much this man loves his dog, what a wonderful build and human being 🙏🏽
I like his philosophy... throw in a mattress, a camp stove, a fridge, a bucket , a .9 mm & water tank & hit the road... Jack! IMO overkill builds soak up all the enthusiasm for living FREE!
Glad he gave an honest opinion on the roof AC. He may as well have said he wasted $3000 so others don't do that. He is 100% on target, spend the money on a reliable vehicle before you sink your time and money in a build. Just like building a brick and mortar home. If you don't do your foundation right FIRST, then every thing you build on that junk foundation may as well just be junk too. I feel fortunate I can build engines, transmission, rear ends, transfer cases and just a bit above basic diagnostics cuz I'm not expert, but I can figure it out. And I also build houses, hotels, hospitals, apartments etc, so I am lucky enough, I can get by buying a POS and build it from the ground up the way I want it. It just takes money. I want to get it done, so I can help those others. I see these stories where their van and bus lifers are broke down all the time and I feel like they're getting taking advantage of and it pisses me off and makes me want to be out there even more.
Very true about his honest assessment of the ac. MaxAir fan and his wall mounted marine fan would suffice and thus save the need for such a large battery bank. I had not seen the oscillating wall fan before. I like it! 👍 You are right on about starting with a good foundation!
Just use a fan to circulate the air through out the van. A window air unit, I bought used for $100, cools my cargo trailer camper quickly. If it goes out, it will be cheap to replace.
Great tour of Shane’s van. I was trying to figure out where I’ve seen him and then it hit me. He was on GUTTED! Great guy and hard worker like you Issac. I feed my dog The Farmers Dog so I know he’s a very caring person!!!❤️
If you absolutely needed A/C at night because it’s hot at night you can idle the van for A/C. I have had to do it with my F350 with a sleeper kit in it.
He did a perfect layout. He could take the built in cabinets by bed down and get cloth bins from five below for five dollars each for clothes and be surprised how much will fit into each one. Then at night stack them or put on the counter. That way his bed would be so much wider. Other then that its nice. I like the head lamp at night to save on power.
I just got the exact same van Ford E350 5.4. White, same wheel covers. Going to make it sweet. She's a original souther bell here in Panhandle Fl. Now I gotta figure out which I want to give my love to. This or my 1984 Dodge B350 Roadtrex. A incredibly original sweet southern bell. Being a high top and all.
Great tour Shane. Can’t wait to see how you build out the bus. I love your van build and there is very little I would change. I’d like a mini split over the ac but then where do you put the outside piece? And could you put some fans on the back of your seats to push the cool air to the back? So many great ideas. Thanks for sharing. Isaac’s tours are always amazing and full of good advice.
This is just what i was looking for. I have a 2007 E-350 Ford van. I was looking for a good layout. My van is the extended but has the sliding side door. Working on my build now. Do you have a youtube channel with this van build? Great job!
Sell the dometic used and use that to puchase a mini split. put the indoor unit over the back doors. NO brainer. You are suffering with the most inefficient unit you can have, plus it adds weight to the roof. Mini splits can run at any speed not just 100% on or 100% off, you can run a mini split likely for a few days on the power you have, I would imagine. They can run at 10% or 110% of their rated btu output.
Paid $3000 for an AC unit that you cannot fill in the back of your van I would take that thing back and get rid of it. You are in Oregon, I am in Arizona and you talk about heat, really???
Anyone who loves their dog enough to get them a/c and feed them Farmer’s Dog is a big winner with me!!
Ha ha ha I agree
..and he likes to bake! ❤️

Nice Rig !
I forgot to show my passenger swivel seat. Gives ya more room and also have a Lagun table for the bench seat also.
Thanks for having me dude 🫶🏼
Are you on RUclips bro ?
@@explorerboi82LOL no fucking way you asked that
A usb rechargeable fan clipped on the front seat area would help blow the cool air to the back. Really nice set up. Keep living the dream!
Wow! An impressive young man. Grounded. Practical. Real. And he likes to bake!! - That’s good raising. Thank you to his family.

Another good tour Isaac. Shane's got his priorities straight. Love how he thought of Millie's comforts in the build.
This layout works for him and his dog. Safe travels, enjoy your journey.
Pretty awesome putting the doggies needs as the most important, this speaks volumes about your character!

Real food. ‼️
Millie is a lucky gal.
Nice rig.

Nice tips !
Prioritizing buying a better van.. and less $ on the build ..
I like this dude's setup.
I like this dude!
I love he treats his elderly pit like a princess ❤
Excellent video. This dude was laying done fact after fact. Amazing share!
I love your wisdom. A mattress in the back you can experience just as much as someone with 100k van. It's the people you meet and sights you see.
Happy that you are meeting up with Drews Lens. He has been visiting Almost Homestead in WA. Drove from Arkansas.
Yeah he seeems rad

Alternative to the Victron.
800 watts of Bluetti powerbank ($569) + MC4 charging adaptor ($39) + 600 watts solar panels = WIN.
You should do like paid phone call or FaceTime chats to help people get a decent game plan on ideas and how to start building their van!

I think I'd be tempted to configire a 2'nd story for the bed space, it could open up space to stand up on lower level cooking area and/or bathroom.
I’d love to see a fiberglass top on it
His layout looks great but yeah. My brain on coffee this morning 🤣
Hey! I feel like I just went next level! I haven't even started my first build yet though 🙃

Great video! How much did the batteries cost you?
My most important priority was getting a reliable van. I ended up buying a MR Ford Transit.
What would it cost to get a tent that pops up on the roof, this would be for my wife and me.. we need a bathroom, toilet for sure to use at anytime.
Do you just wash up at the sink or is there collapsing shower?
That AC does not work like a 3k AC for 3k that van better be freezing front to back 😂!

Why don’t you boil some water for hot water for your dishes ? ✌️
