    @forgetfulpriestiv14 Год назад +7

    Inert projectile means the bullet itself isn't explosive. I noticed the box had an explosives sticker on it and that other sticker was probably added on later to differentiate the difference between the powder and the bullet. It also says Ball on the side of the can, so you know your dealing with typical ball ammo

    That was fun to watch! Welcome to opening a 30 year old ammo can. There are secrets to using the latch to pry it open in a few seconds, but I'll let you figure that out in your own.
    That's the first time I've seen the whole "inert" bullet thing. Most countries just label the can L.C.B. Lead Core Ball. To differentiate between steel core and APIT, which is not so inert. 😊

    I still have a good bit of Turkish ammo from 1976-1978. The British helped to set up the factory in Turkey when it was established and they manufactured ammo for the British military for decades. A bit dirty but non corrosive and has never had a misfire. Mine was originally sealed and belted as well but the surplus ammo store unbelted it for me with a machine they have. Mine also says L2A2 on it. Shoots great and it was dirt cheap. Still have well over 1500 rounds of the stuff in the original cans. Those old surplus ammo cans are all extremely hard to open. They lock down very tight. Mine that have the Turkish ammo are still very hard to open and they have all been opened a few times so ignore the trolls raggin on you with opening them. Very old ammo cans can be a pain to get open. They were designed to be that tight.

    Nice score there. Easy trick to de-link that: get a piece of a wooden dowel slightly smaller in diameter than the base of cartridge. Use that to push each round out while bending the belt backwards to open up the links. Hope that helps.

Nice little cartridge find something to shoot it in! They're actually pretty hot so watch the chamber pressure you can't guarantee the powder load a lot of old cannon powder was used in those! The ammo box was stuck shut so tightly because it was about 93 degrees on the date (September 19th 1990) stamped on the box in Pakistan (POF marking) when it was packed. When it was still hot in the factory, they filled it up and sealed it. Over decades of sitting in warehouses, it was never opened to release the vacuum pressure created by the cooling of the air inside. Combine that with the rubber gasket starting to break down, vulcanize and adhere to the box, as demonstrated by the rubber still stuck on the rubber still stuck to the rim of the box, you got a perfect storm of negative force working against you. Would have been a little easier to open if you had used a hair dryer to heat up the box and by extension, the air inside. But of course that's something no normal person would think about. After all, I am a massive NNNEEEEERRRRDDDD

    Inert projectiles, That just means there's no explosive in the actual projectile and it itself will not explode, however the cartridge appears unfired and still contains powdere therefore still an explosive hazard. If those were dummy rounds there should/would not be a 1.4 S sticker on it. And proper dummy rounds would be marked visibly as such.
