Saw this lineup in Seattle 1975 ... Carlos and Eric for a jam at the end much like this ... wonderful ... Dave Brown on Bass .... Marci & Yvonne on backing vocals ... George Terry ... just heaven....
I was at this concert Providence rhode island 1976 Santana played then Clapton and this song they played together i remember it like it was yesterday this is the definition of classci
@@krusty6246 Eric Clapton (guitar/vocals), George Terry (guitar), Dick Sims (organ), Carl Radle (bass), Jamie Oldaker (drums), and Yvonne Elliman (vocals). Marcy Levy (vocals). Not sure of Santana's band. Great outfit but no big names.
greatest guitar song of all time - eric/carlos/eric/carlos - and you can tell which is which - such unique styles - one so clean and perfectionist, the other just inspired and blended....one of the great and unknown classics
This version definitely is way better than the "Tommy" soundtrack version. Both Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana own it and duke it out on their guitars. The Latin percussion is totally killer on this too!! I absolutely love it!!!!
You know what's crazy? I'm 38 now, but when I was about 20 or so a buddy of mine who isn't into old music near as much as I am and who listens to new stuff that's out there even today was the one who showed me this song. I was blown away then and every time I've heard it it just gets better. I'd like to think I would've eventually discovered this myself if my buddy hadn't shown me, but who knows.
Again, like Badge earlier on this Box Set...this version of Eyesight is ridiculous. You can totally tell when it's Carlos and when it's Eric. Just sick. And I love the Who...but this blows all versions away. :)
Auqellos melomaniacos de la tercera juventud...pues los invito a mirar TOMMY....y vista para los ciegos, Clapron es acompañado por los musicos de la banda THE WHO
He is 73 years old! How can he be expected to play like he did in his 30s,40s,50s,60s! His peak years were from 89 to 99 and his from the cradle shows in the 90s! EC has said himself that he could never duplicate his playing from those years, as the facilities are not the same as we age! He still plays and sings fantastic for rhus phase in his life!
I saw him in 08 and he blasted us with killer blues. I think he's the best guitarist still alive. It was all blues all night during what felt like a hurricane.
Mr Whitlock. Your vocals put the music in music. If. Ya like music. Much alotta heart in your voice. You could have been on any tuff jam. Any. Mr Whitlock..I'm just sayin
Who’s on bass? It’s all about the Geetar and Eric for me but my mate is all about the Bass.. he reckons John Entwistle is better on bass in Tommy than this… what do others think? 🤷♀️
SuperStrik9 listen from 17 min Clapton comes out with a lead and solo ,that sight coming from god . Tell the end he dominates , Santana only relies on his mc clachan Indian speed solos that lose the sole and spirit. Those years he thought he could reach navana with there speed playing . Or speed sitar . As it was the 70,s experiments of sound strings was on . Speed kills the magic . Talk about other levels ,why Clapton stop play loud and heavy ,was he has become deaf in one and losing the other , Beethoven is alive in the sounds till the end of time , but sure EC is keeping some of his best tracks after his death , so family last a long time and god sight shines on. The name of Album is sight to the blind ,I feel u r blind and open your ears . You on speed trip
superlative..play from tv speaker but please no cell phones! Try a $100 mini speaker..or go all whole hog on it. Just let it rip..only as EC can. This will be treasured forever and a day
Incredible interplay Clapton regretted doing the movie and the soundtrack of thatSong with the who in the movie Tommy if you are Christian and watch that it rubs you the wrong way He did it as a favor to Pete Townsend
I bought this cd about 10 yrs ago and was really disappointed with this version of why does love have to be so sad! After hearing it again after all these years ... I still think it's the worst version I've ever heard !!!!!

This is one of the best pieces of musical art my ears have ever heard ever and I have heard a lot of old music. This is perfection.
One of the greatest jams ever. Two great guitarists. An epic moment.
Clapton and Santana, hell of a jam!
Amen to that!!❤👏
I was lucky to be in the 3rd row in front of Clapton for this show. Clapton in 1975 said it was the best concert he had ever given.
omg yes
The Encore of a Clapton/Santana show. Both bands. EC, Sanatana and George Terry on guitar. I'm blessed to have been there.
They also played at Stanford University that year. Best concert ever!
He lied.

I was at that concert - hands down best lick-trading I ever saw!

Meeting of the Masters!
Why am I just hearing this now ? I watched the Clapton Tommy version yesterday. THIS ROCKS!
This is pure spirituality and soul.
I have had "Crossroads" for many years and very few have surpassed it in quality or artistic talent.
Standing ovation!!!

I think that George Terry also jams with Carlos n Eric
We rocked every party with this jam at UMass 96-2000!
In a word, EPIC!
A song where you don’t want it to end

I never heard this but I like it sunshine and I have been around the block
me too .I skipped to santana and listenng at him I know why I did. The organ always feels so nice too !

OMG! THIS IS BEYOND GOOD
I have seen him and all I can say he is this great! 1978
saw him in 69, what a guitarist, but to see the realm of work over the years, the depth of style and different venues of music OMG ,he is GOD!
I saw him play his first show after the SRV helicopter crash in 1990. Soulful in more ways than one.
Excellent fabulous that's very true music
this is beyond good, beyond great its magnificent!
Wonderful good
Badass jam! Didn’t seem like 24 minutes
Wow Eyesite to the Blind!!!!!!!
Where's the "LOVE" button ?!
This is THE one !!!
Yes. This is way better than the Tommy soundtrack version.
Superb
Love this!!
Cop behind me must've wondered what I was grinning at, an hour ago. This on the ipod.
Life changing..........
tremendo temazo....lo podemos apreciar en la opera rock TOMMY....con the who....ademas esta version aparece carlos santana con el mago Clapton
what a crew,,one of the finest Claton performances ever! Now is there a video? IF you were lucky you got Santana and McGlaughlin OMG!
I saw this concert about this year in San Diego, Ca.
Let's not forget George Terry on this tour. The concert I saw was Carlos, Terry and Clapton.
And Armando Peraza and I believe Ndugu Chancler on percussion
me too, in Berdoo, lol damn we old..
Epic jam!

Rob Morisson above is correct: Clapton actually peaked in the '90s.

The bass is fine! The tempo is even faster than on the Tommy records. And the riff is in 16e notes, really difficult to play in this tempo.

If this is from Nassau Coliseum I'm pretty sure Jon Mclaughlin also came out with Santana for the finale.
