    English lyrics:
I'll harness the best to my troika,
    Of black-maned horses,
And I think straight about my love,
    On a frosty night.
    Hey, you daring horses,
    Rush swiftly on the steppes,
And when I see my darling,
My heart will wake up happily.
Out of the habit, the horses already know,
    Where their loved country is.
The snow is blasted by hooves,
And it flies like an arrow.
    Hey, my loved horses,
    Rush faster than falcons,
Don't lose all of you gold in a day,
Because there is so few of it in this life.
Until our hearts beat with happiness,
    We will live happily.
Until the curls curl into rings,
    We will love the girls.
I'll harness the best to my troika,
    Of black-maned horses,
And I think straight about my love,
    On a frosty night.
    Feel free to correct me!
    Also greetings from Slovakia

Actually there was a secular tradition of celebrating Christmas in Tsarist Russia, similar to the Western one. It was forbidden by Bolsheviks, but most traditions like the fir tree and gift-giving were transfered to the New Year. After the fall of the Union, celebration of Christmas resumed, but now it's a strictly religious holiday, and all the secular celebration happens at New Year.

Well, why not, Comrade? There were countries under Soviet rule that would have otherwise written in normal text that were forced to have to read and write in Cyrillic beyond their will, like Moldova and Romania, I think...

    Zaprjagu ja trojku borzu
    Černogrivyh lošadej
I pomčusʹ ja v nočʹ moroznu
    Prjamo k ljubuške svoej.
I pomčusʹ ja v nočʹ moroznu
    Prjamo k ljubuške svoej.
    Po privyčke koni znajut,
    Gde sudaruška živët,
    Sneg kopytom razbivajut,
    Jamŝik pesenki poët.
    Èj, vy, koni udalye,
    Mčitesʹ po stepi bystrej,
    Kak uvižu doroguju,
    Serdcu stanet veselej.
    Kak uvižu doroguju,
    Serdcu stanet veselej.
    Po privyčke koni znajut,
    Gde zavetnaja strana.
    Sneg kopytami vzryvajut
    I nesutsja, kak strela.
    Èj, vy, koni dorogie,
    Mčite sokola bystrej,
    Vy ne terjajte dni zlatye,
    Ih nemnogo v žizni sej.
    Poka v serdce radostʹ bʹëtsja,
    Budem veselo my žitʹ.
    Poka kudri v kolʹca vʹjutsja,
    Budem devušek ljubitʹ.
    Poka kudri v kolʹca vʹjutsja,
    Budem devušek ljubitʹ.
    Zaprjagu ja trojku borzu
    Černogrivyh lošadej
I pomčusʹ ja v nočʹ moroznu
