11 years too late I know. As an 8 year old at the time, being the curious little devil as I was, was constantly on RUclips scrolling through every building demolition video there was to know. The moment I came across this video was like finding a pot of Gold. Every time I watch this video, it’s like I’m reliving my childhood. 11 years on and this is still a pleasure to watch. Greetings from Scotland 🏴
6:02 The Biltmore Hotel in OKC. I have looked for video of this. I was there in 77 when it came down. At the time it was the tallest building imploded.
I remember very well the old Traymore Hotel in Atlantic City (at 0:42 on the video). That was a BEAUTIFUL building; inside and out. I wish they could have saved it. We have so few buildings from the time just before and just after the turn of the last century. They sure don't build them like that anymore. Instead, we get steel & glass boxes with no character, for the most part.
5:47 Is The Travelers Building The 451,000 square foot, 18-story, structural steel Traveler's Insurance Building blocked development of a valuable property in Boston's financial district. Controlled Demolition Incorporated’s team was able to complete asbestos abatement/environmental remediation, prepare the structure for implosion and drop the massive structural steel building just 2 weeks after our client's last employee vacated the premises. Controlled Demolition Incorporated's DREXS (Directional Remote Explosive Severance) System sequentially severed the 4 inch thick flanges of the buildings' support columns to drop the structure without damage to a Boston Fire Department facility just 30 feet away. The 60,000 cubic yards of debris generated by the implosion of this downtown office complex was so well fragmented that it was cleared from the site in just 6 weeks.

as strange as this sounds, but this is some kind of art. great work, guys!
i was mesmerized when i saw buildings being imploded for the first time on a littile platform called tubi on a 1-hour movie called Demolition and Destruction. immediately after i was just watching this on repeat. 7 years on and im still mesmerized

WOW! Amazing how they all those buildings no matter what size managed to collapse within the set boundry like that. Great skills and knowledge put to work. Totally Amazing - Out of This World Towers fall like a deck of cards.
The Dunes Hotel and Casino was imploded in October 1993 to make way for the Bellagio, but I think they demolished it for a spectacular show for the opening of Treasure Island (at least I think that's what happened)
The full videos of the job are great... been binge watching after work.. the Hurricane proof buildings are always an interesting watch.. thanks for posting!
@@TexasRailfan2008 You will be pleased to know that a very similar former Sears Merchandise Warehouse is still standing in Atlanta, GA. Its interior has been renovated, but the exterior is untouched. It's now Ponce City Market.
WOW ! I wish CERA had the wisdom to bring you here for the demo of our city. we have almost 800 buildings in Christchurch that have to go and some going like this would have been stunning.
Demolish a perfectly good building (first one in this clip), which has nice architectural detailing.....and replace it with a bland glass and steel building. Progress or Regression? I'm going with the former. Unless that building had asbestos in it there was no need to demolish it
So you're saying that's progress? The former is the first option, the second option is the latter. So what you probably meant to say, it was the latter. And I agree.

You know, your childhood time on YT isn’t far off.
I have the exact same experience bud.
Exactly the same here. Around 500 views of this video is probably from 5 year old me on my dad's old old old laptop lol
Lol same, I saw this video somewhere close to when it was posted...

I am a huge fan of this company's work, they are truly one of the best in the industry.
This is one channel I always binge every time a new demolition job is posted, amazing work.

This is so incredible, it looks like something you would see in Saturday morning cartoons. But here it’s as real as it gets, truly amazing!
The segment of the video between 1:05 and 2:36 is truly legendary.
Thank you! Thanks for watching!

There is something beautiful in watching, in effect, a solid building turn to liquid.
Love the gentle elevator music as buildings fall

Thanks to the cdi company ,that this amazing film
The implosion a 8:48 looks different than all the rest. Is the plan to use fire to bring it down
or am I missing something?
no, it was the first hotel implosion in Las Vegas and I guess they wanted it to look spectacular or something
The Dunes Hotel and Casino was imploded in October 1993 to make way for the Bellagio, but I think they demolished it for a spectacular show for the opening of Treasure Island (at least I think that's what happened)
Please write to me who is the author (Performer) of the melody and the name of the track that starts at 9:17 minutes? Please!
The full videos of the job are great... been binge watching after work.. the Hurricane proof buildings are always an interesting watch.. thanks for posting!
That was INSANE!!! Great work!!!!
Please, give links to the source videos
I'm blown away. Well crafted.😎👍
Good video; it is worthy of having the word "art" in the title. Really good shots!
this is totally worth watching beautifully made
Does anyone know anything about the building at 0:53? Im not sure why it just really intrigued me
That building was damaged by the 1985 Mexico City Earthquake. I may be wrong but I found that in an online list of their implosions
7:44 are they filming a movie scene
Tbh I feel like the bridge hitting the water makes the same sound as the music at 1:29 lol
Nice to see demolition work done so well.
My one request for this video would be to provide sub - titles that show where these demolitions took place.
6:22 Sears Merchandise Warehouse - Philadelphia, Pa
Shame they had to demolish it!
@@TexasRailfan2008 You will be pleased to know that a very similar former Sears Merchandise Warehouse is still standing in Atlanta, GA. Its interior has been renovated, but the exterior is untouched. It's now Ponce City Market.
I forgot there were two real implosions used in Lethal Weapon 3!
8:21 and 9:04
6:28 George P. Murphy Homes - Baltimore, MD
The murder homes
Why do some buildings have a large fireball ?
Why not?
WOW ! I wish CERA had the wisdom to bring you here for the demo of our city. we have almost 800 buildings in Christchurch that have to go and some going like this would have been stunning.
2:11 what demolition is that?
Do you know the song name for the first 60 seconds by any chance, admin?
Where were these guys when we were trying to take out the Vinh River Bridge?
Thanks for sharing these historic videos. Awesome as well as Fine Art.... pure magic!
Very nice work. Awesome vid!
how many implosions do you do in a typical year
I live in California where many old buildings get demolished when they are deemed seismically unstable.
0:57 Independence building, Charlotte NC
Will you guys PLEASE get that bridge out of Baltimore Harbor? PLEASE!
A film of memory ,good luck for watching, this is the first film
the building in 2:39 is now toast
What I find interesting, is that many of the buildings being imploded are relatively new, not very old buildings.
2 scenes from the Lethal Weapon Movies!!
I know some footage was used in the movie "Herbie Rides Again"
Demolish a perfectly good building (first one in this clip), which has nice architectural detailing.....and replace it with a bland glass and steel building. Progress or Regression? I'm going with the former. Unless that building had asbestos in it there was no need to demolish it
Yes, it's a shame to see some of them demolished 😢
If you think about it, most of these buildings were demolished at an age that people at the time didn’t consider “historic”
What kind of building is that, anyways? It looks like a mix of one of the German castles, and a hotel from the late 19th century.
Asbestos has to be removed before ANY demolition occurs. It's the law!
So you're saying that's progress? The former is the first option, the second option is the latter. So what you probably meant to say, it was the latter. And I agree.
7:42
Looks like a movie scene wher the factory ruptures like a sort of nuclear bomb inside it
I think that is a movie scene but idk what movie
The movie is Enemy of the State
Beautiful filming
5:16 Independence Building, Charlotte NC
You guys are awesome.
