- In this video we go over the M41D that is a light tank in the Chinese tech tree many have said before this vehicles is one of the worse in game just because the BR bracket of 8.0 gives it very tough opponents to face on the battlefield while you have many disadvantages

M41D is objectively a Chaffee with APFSDS and thermals tell me I'm wrong

For only a 0.3 BR increase you get the 76mm Rooikat that has lower silhouette, can zoom by at like 80km/h and has dual plane stab.
Yeah, thermals are nice but I don't see them being THAT useful from my experience.
Removing Thermals + APFSDS would make it just another M-41, we already have buldog with HEAT-FS in german tree so i think it makes sence that this has those two things i mentioned above

well, not excactly since it also has 100 hp less than the regular bulldog.
The problem is the due to the arrival of HSTV-L, Gaijin decided to nerf the small caliber APFSDS's post pen damage, so M41D had to suffer because of it.
Tbf it might have been the same situation of when French ground forces came into the game where all AP rounds where buffed. But with the HSTVL it probably was the time they wanted to change the damage models of low caliber APFSDS. Iirc the only thing before the HSTVL to have low caliber APFSDS was the Otomatic and the aubl hvg.
They could've easily just only nerfed 75mm and APFSDS post-pen damage, and left the M41D (with 76mm APFSDS) alone.
In real life, the old engine was changed to the 405HP one to increase its operational range, but when translated into War Thunder, it doesn't even matter...
It was also changed for the ease of maintaining the vehicle as well. Since not many 1950 era parts where still being made when they needed it in the 1990s
Does the buff to engine power and going to 72km/h make this worth using?
Df 105 being at the same br is just a joke, df105 is sooo much better.
DF105 is really good just wish it had a bit more armor so it can't easily get strafed by aircraft
the right BR for this thing is 7.3
i dont think so... 7.7 or having it's engine buffed would do.
I disagree with removing apfsds and thermals...we have such a buldogs already. Just give this sh.t proper BR. Thats it. Maybe 7.3?
Been a big push over the last couple of BR changes of "WW2 vehicles not seeing cold war Vehicles" They still do but you know guess its better for people to think it doesn't but at the same time you have the ZTS63 that is pretty much the bulldog but without thermals and gun depression at 7.7. If you remove thermals it would be 7.7 if you remove the APFSDS it would be 7.3 if you remove the laser rangefinder it could finally be 6.7 the same BR bracket as the German one.
The proper BR for the M41D is 8.0 because of all the features it was given take them away it would be a way better vehicle even if it was slower then the other Bulldogs but its difference could be it comes with stock HEAT

don't forget Leopard 1 has paper armor too, but no APFSDS, no TVD, no LRF so it's quite good. idk what ur talking about, why u want remove things and lower the BR?
and u need 2-3 shots? that's skill issue. This is not toptier so u can easly 1shot every tank with ez lol
I would rather have a APDS 105mm than a 76mm APFSDS. Plus you completely did not mention mobility.

but i get gaijined alot and face uptiers and my 105mm APDS bounces off alot of Russians. The 76mm APFSDS would pen it
