I see alot of people on their new tractors with headphones and ear plugs in... I can't run my tractor without hearing, smelling, and feeling the heat it generates to know how shes runnin... Of course none of the gauges work on her either (52 8n).
Looking forward to plowing and discing my garden for the first time this spring with my resurrected 51 8n. Cant believe shes 70 years old. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great video, great song choice too! My Dad and I used to plant a 5 acre pumpkin patch and the working up the soil was my favorite part of it. I miss the pumpkin patch but I really miss my Dad, your brought back some good memories with this video, thanks TJ
Good ol’ Red Belly! That’s about you needed here in the foothills of NC raising tobacco and vegetables. Along with a Farmall cub. Simple times, had all we needed and some to spare. Good video man, brings back good times!
I generally don't ever listen to country music, but that song is perfect. Want a farm in u.p. Michigan when I retire and enjoy an 8n with family and friends
You are not using the automatic draft control lever located under the seat . If in draft mode you set depth and the hydraulic control on the 8 N will keep the plow at the right depth also ,if you ate using a 12” shear then only plow 6” deep or if you are using a 14” shear plow only 7” deep. Set your rolling colter only deep enough to cut the sod . Best advice is to get a book for the make of plow and tractor . I see so many people with equipment and not taking the time to set it up and learn how to use it so it does a proper job . Do not take this the wrong way. I’m just trying to help you out. Good luck.
That boy has those plows set right, level front to back, and level side to side. They were not designed not to plow over about 6 to 7 inches deep. Notice how it don't pull the tractor to death when he drops those plows down. Grew up on one of those little tractors and I still love to see them work!
That my friend is probably one of the best videos I have seen. Camera person has great skills couldn't have picked a better song myself. I am a huge old tractor fanatic as I have three N series. Keep up the good work and please more videos.
8- n works better with a disc plow that's what came with them in 52 that's when my grandpa bought his 8n 1952 brand new!!! Those were hard days plowing 12 acres with 2 gang plow LoL
I'm looking forward to plowing my potatoes. I have not used the plow yet. However I did finish bush hogging 40 acre field with only breaking the shear pin twice..
Everyday Life if you have softer soil good chances a dearborn 2x14 (2 bottom 14”) for harder/clay soils a 2x12 plow should do fine. an 80x80’ garden or less get a 12” or 14” single bottom plow will do just fine, and in my opinion is better for a smaller area plus it’s easier on the tractor for such a short run. or just go to your farm and home/rural king/tractor supply and get one of there 1 or 2 bottom plows County line, king cutter they are the same plow with different stickers lol so any of them are fine and try to use the draft control when set up properly and there is fluid in the tires and the correct pressure on these 9,2 and 8n’s you won’t spin the tires and you don’t have to play with the lever the whole time, i have a 2 acre garden here and i do everything from tomatoes to potatoes and i use my 1950 8n for everything from plowing discing to cultivation. when it’s set up right these tractors perform perfectly
Was the three point hitch control (the little lever) in the position control notch, or in the draft control notch? You shouldn't have to play with the lever all of the time.
The 8n he is on does have draft control but also has implement control. I believe he is in implement control that's why he's working the lever. Don't know why he's not in draft control? when set up properly it's works like a dream. Wheel weights would have also help.
Wool Creek Farm all Ns had draft but only 8ns had position control. In tough soil a lot of moving if draft load to regain traction especially if plowing deeper. Also if your draft spring on the top link is too tight, a lot of hunting occurs. I too had a tendency to continually adjust it on my 2Ns when young. Couldn’t sit and let it move up and down naturally. Great video but the plows were cutting off to the right meaning it is slightly turned toward the right or left link on plow needs turned slightly forward no more than 1/4”
Feel free to check out this video with no music.

Those lil tractors grew America...countless acres of this country tilled and harvested...🇺🇸
no need for music, the sound of the engine is the only thing that matters
I like the music
I had to turn it down. This generation has ruined country music.
Yes i agree...Let that little 2.0 Liter engine roar!
I see alot of people on their new tractors with headphones and ear plugs in... I can't run my tractor without hearing, smelling, and feeling the heat it generates to know how shes runnin... Of course none of the gauges work on her either (52 8n).
@@tannertuner country went from outlaws to sell outs.
Looking forward to plowing and discing my garden for the first time this spring with my resurrected 51 8n. Cant believe shes 70 years old. Thanks for the inspiration!
I can't believe that I'm almost 66.
Rather hear the tractor than that new crap country!!!!
Indeed!
This generation has ruined country music
New country uhhhh😨
Great video, great song choice too! My Dad and I used to plant a 5 acre pumpkin patch and the working up the soil was my favorite part of it. I miss the pumpkin patch but I really miss my Dad, your brought back some good memories with this video, thanks TJ
totally thought of my dad too...his little 8N and him....

nice tractor and plow combo looking at this video I miss my 8N
I'm thankful I still have my 8n's one was my dad's I have had those old tractors a long time. Thanks for sharing
That boy has those plows set right, level front to back, and level side to side. They were not designed not to plow over about 6 to 7 inches deep. Notice how it don't pull the tractor to death when he drops those plows down. Grew up on one of those little tractors and I still love to see them work!
That was perfect with the song in the background it made me want to be plowing again can’t wait till spring lol
that ol girl chuggin away at the 1:55 brings great memories. learned to drive on a '52.
A year later, divorced, just listened to this 6 straight times... I'm getting that farm in up Michigan.
Getting it done they must have made a million of those tractors
Just want to add, I had an 8-N several years back and I gotta tell you, what a blast to operate. I use it to brush hog.
Good ol' ways of the good ol' days with the good ol' American made tractors
I got a 8N can’t wait to do this too!
I enjoyed my tractors for years. Wish I was able to climb on one today!
Are ya still kicking? That’s what matters
Just picked up a ford jubilee love the sound of the motor
That my friend is probably one of the best videos I have seen. Camera person has great skills couldn't have picked a better song myself. I am a huge old tractor fanatic as I have three N series. Keep up the good work and please more videos.
City folk just don't understand what it's like to be on a tractor and the smell of fresh turned ground.
We had a Ford 8N. My happiest day with that tractor was seeing it leave the farm on the back of the JD dealers truck.
8- n works better with a disc plow that's what came with them in 52 that's when my grandpa bought his 8n 1952 brand new!!! Those were hard days plowing 12 acres with 2 gang plow LoL
I could happily run this 8N everyday plowing, disking, bush hogging, and any other implement all day everyday till I was old and grey.
Looks like it does a good job I have a Ford 3000 diesel tractor it does good too use it all the time
Too bad that someone wouldn’t make these tractors again.
Great looking ole’ tractor! 👍
My good buddy just gave me a Ford 9n today
Pulls it nice, these little tractors were built for 2 bottoms, no more no less.
Small 2 bottoms. Can’t be more than 12s or maybe 14s
That girl is working the field.
beautiful tractor, nice song
Great video. Perfect song too.
Tired of people putting songs over the engines working
Nice ford T8 tractor and 2 furrow plow
I have an 8n as well. Plan to post video on here soon doing a start up
20 hp pulling 2 bottom nice !!!!
Good old Fords
Did you try using the draft control. If it’s working that would automatically adjust the depth for how hard it’s pulling.
I had a 8n. Couldn't keep it from running hot when I was working it hard.
Love the video
Great video but don't need the no singing music. Need to fine tune that plow until it throws the dirt so smooth it is level like the road.
awesome video
Andrew Gardner thanks for watching. I hope to get some more up soon.
Getting a "full flip" of the soil. Plow is adjusted just rite.
I rode a lot of miles on the fender with my feet on the axcel with my Dad.
although you said nothing I got the info I needed lol
Great vid minus the music
I have a version without music posted as well. Thanks for watching.
Parabéns pelo vídeo, um ótimo trator.
Did you have any fluid in the tires? Me and dad just bought a plow and we are concerned about traction since we dont have fluid in the tires
Oldiron Tv there is fluid in the tires. Even so in some parts you could see tire spin. We simply raised the plow slightly and continued.
Is this a 12 or 14 inch bottoms?
Music makes me think of two gay cowboys from Dallas Ft Worth
Ferguson 12 inch plow?
Nice old tractor, do you have fluid in the rear tires, much less rear tire spinning
What gear do I start in when I plow..
4th
I'm looking forward to plowing my potatoes. I have not used the plow yet. However I did finish bush hogging 40 acre field with only breaking the shear pin twice..
Wasnt this the sausage short left ear bottom?
Hello, can i ask how big is the turning plow? I am looking for a plow myself for my 1949 8n. Please help

ive got some mo gumbo that will stop little henry
Very good but your front tires are not single rib original
What gear do you plow in? Thanks for sharing!
That look like third gear on a Four speed transmission
...want to hear the tractor...I'll turn the radio on if I want music...
Like the music what is everybody going to be so hateful
Do the Ns have draft control? I assume not and that is what he is doing with his right hand?
thastinger345 he was adjusting it to regain traction in most cases
Was the three point hitch control (the little lever) in the position control notch, or in the draft control notch? You shouldn't have to play with the lever all of the time.

Looks like you need water in your tires.
Look's like you need to adjust the plow a little fore and aft. Also front to back.
music christ almighty
We want to hear the engine , NOT the music
Aww cute little 30hp thing
23 hp
Therapy!
I agree no need for the music especially country music
I would of liked it better if could of heard the engine, tractor than the music was you showing the tractor or the radio.
8n Ford Plowing (no music)

I can’t watch it because of the music
Can't hear the tractor dammit.
...no music next time...PLEASE!...
Want to hear the tractor not some song.
The music ruined the video
Quit watching because of music over motor
