  • Are you needing to add a bit more volume to your wig? Or maybe you want it to be two toned? Why not get two wigs and splice them together by sewing in the wig wefts of one into the other!
    This tutorial will show you how to take an average wig and make it a full, thick wig.
    What you'll need:
    - Base wig
    - Secondary wig
    - Needles and thread
    - Pins
    - Wide tooth comb
    - Securing devices (ie. clip, elastics and/or bobby pins)
    - Scissors
    -Quik Unpik
    - Wig head

    the part where you talk about getting your shit together and not freak out is the most important part :D

    This was actually way easier than I thought it would be! I’m doing a Madara Uchiha cosplay, and he has very thick hair, so I decided to sew two base wigs together. Takes a while, but definitely worth it!

    I used this tutorial back in 2019 to thicken up a wig with two wigs worth of wefts. It was stunningly thick and gorgeous and lush just like real hair, except it's white.
    I plan on using this tutorial again for Christine Daae's hair from the movie version of Phantom of the Opera since I will not only be adding volume to the base wig but I will also be doing a thing Drag Queens use to achieve volume is to stack on another wig on top of the base wig for a bit of height since the style I will be referencing is Empress Elisabeth of Austria meets Christine Daae with a slight modern twist and additional hair pieces like clip on ponytails serving as large braids decorated by a bunch of star brooches.
    It's the biggest style challenge I will put on myself for one wig but I am willing to make something that isn't a Shake and Go style.

      @@KirileeCosplay and many, many thanks, that you don't just show the "butterflies and unicorns" moments, but also the "warning: you can be confused, aggressive, sad or frustrated" moments, cause this ALWAYS happen to me, making a costume by myself xD

    This is accurate just to trying to repair a wig where a weft came undone from the cap. It sucks because it is a really long wig too. Oh well, I'll keep working on my repairs when I get home from uni.

    So glad I found this!!!
    Though, I wonder, does it work with wigs of different lengths? Because my base wig is a tad bit shorter than the wig Im adding.

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  Год назад

      It will still work but remember that the wefts you will be adding will be longer so you may need to cut them to the same length after you add them to the base wig

    Should I add less to shorter wigs?If I have a long wig and a short one do I just cut one?

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  4 года назад +2

      It will be easier for you to use two short wigs as with a long wig, if you cut it you will need to make your own wefts and that can be messy and a little difficult

    I'm dreading a open weft wig and noticed there's spaces between the wefts .What can I do to cover it? Can I see the wefts together or add in more dreads ?

    Quick question how do you secure your wig head so it doesn't fall over??

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  7 месяцев назад +1

      There are a few ways you can do this- there are toupe clips or combs you can see in, you can adjust the elastic at the back, you can use hair pins or even a wig grip.

    I tried this but got so frustrated from the ridiculous length and repetitiveness and gave up

      Unfortunately there are some things that are build upon doing something repetitive. I found putting on a good movie or two to help
