- Although this is labelled as being from Knebworth it clearly isn't - there has been various speculations as to where this actually was filmed, but wherever it was it's a great vid !!!
Hillfish is in great form, as are the whole band - well worth a watch :)
been a fan since the 70s and always thought he was so underrrated. still a fan though :)
It's a brilliant surprise to hear him playing a psychedelic classic that slipped in between Beatles albums and ended up in a Yellow Submarine, so thanks for resurfacing this! :)
There are some other clips of the crowd (and also Queen that evening) on my Your channel.
MILLION THANX MORDTOCH. I realy think i hear a lot of George Harrison in SH's playing, Its like George, with mind blowing fast lead guitar chops. can't get enough of this guy and the 70s in general. 70s=ruled
Steve Hillage can play the guitar .. I saw him in 1970 something playing with Gong. Guitar work was explosive.
And a cheeky hint of The Great Om Riff! Great stuff!
That last shot of the stage, at circa 8:42, that looks like that COULD be Roger Taylor's drum kit, with the gong in the back, so that makes me suspect this COULD be Hyde Park. Would be nice if we had a video of the entire set, as Steve is known to have thrown a hissy fit because a couple people at the front of the crowd were fighting during his first song.
Correctamundo!
Yup - couldn't agree more !
Latest thinking is that this was shot in Hyde Park, London - a friend of mine thinks he was actually there and remembers it (to a point lol). Any advances on Hyde park ?
Yes, definitely Hyde Park September 18th 1976. I was there too!
This is from a broadcast by Thames TV the following year (Star Rider).
