AVAA: Am so happy i stumble across this video and your channel. I had to pause your video and listen to pink Friday 2 myself, thanx to you i feel i understand the album even better
I love your brain, this is the most objective non-fan review. The album makes me happy because I see her growth over the years and I can relate to the subject matter without feeling I have to twerk. I like a lot of the songs you hated, but understand.
😂😂😂😂 why is everyone so afraid of the Barbs?!?! Every fanbase has its crazies but most of us are fair. Negativity just speaks louder and stands out more than the positive. Learn how to filter it out and you'll have a great time. His opinions are more than welcome ❤
@@butwhosaidthat well that's nice to hear at least, but i have been in one of those crazy fandoms (not the barbs...but when i was a kid i was a kpop stan) and honestly ppl have a right to be afraid lol, but hey they've been chill here so this is nice.
Also, the expression is “left on read” not “unread.” If a recipient has opened a text without replying, the sender is left with a notification under their text that says “read,” i.e., recipient has read the message. The significance here is that they haven’t responded to the text.
AAVA! I will say about your anecdote on how young people dont pirate music anymore, i think you underrate how much of a griselda fanbase you’ve cultivated, and nearly every single artist under that umbrella has many albums not on dsp’s, so piracy is necessary to listen to all their work!
Wow if only people criticized artist this way, I think fans would not be attacking. I’m able to receive your critics without feeling like you’re hating! Great video!
AAVA! i was a huge nicki fan for a long time so imo i think you are looking for the pinkprint although she doesnt really have an album that is straight rap all the way through (maybe Queen but theres still some non rap on there)… roman reloaded is all pop rap and the re up just adds more of that… personally I think TPP is her best work followed by pink friday.
I cannot believe he still doesn’t like Pink Friday. It’s probably one of the best hip-hop albums of all time and certainly her best in my opinion. And a fact that it inspired a generation of rappers to come! Moment 4 life is timeless. Queen is her best RAP album (Good form, Chun-Li, Barbie dreams). Great video!
He's white they thought slavery was ok. Now they think they have evolved beyond that. But they still think you are you are here to live up to their expectations of how music should be. Of course he likes cowgirl it sounds like a white people pop song. If this man is a professor he should know that black people don't see music in the same way white people does. That's why black people and white people don't dance the same. Or have the same body move in bed. White people need to be in time. They are usually out of sync.
We must’ve listened different pink Friday’s cause singing? Pink Friday is most definitely a rap album with a lot of innovative sounds, flows & raps It’s a classic!
AVAA!! left on read just means u dont respond to a text. I haven't fully listened to this album just cuz the bloat but I love that beef line in beep beep, one of the standout songs definitely. Also never heard of Tate Kobang but damn he went off, one of the strongest hooks on this album (one of the great sins of this album is that the hooks are consistently pretty weak)
It's such a fun and playful album. The idea to have it be very "sample-heavy" while coming out on the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop -- just works out so well! You get pop Nicki, trap Nicki, island girl Nicki, gospel Nicki, etc., something for everyone. Other contemporary artists have albums are very very curated. The themes, thesis, aesthetics are planned out very meticulously. And they focus on having like 12 songs that, in a specific order, paint a narrative. This is just a collection of several songs that just represent current status of Nicki right now, the persona and the human. Pink Friday 2 is such a triumph, given the challenges she's overcome since her last album.
oh u almost got it with the missy elliot reference... because it IS actually a missy reference 😂 missy got exposed for having a group chat with lil kim and other female rappers where they talk crap about nicki and nicki even hinted that in some of her music... when missy congratulated her for winning a vma award nicki replied "mumbling and cackling" or something like that implying that that's what missy and the other rappers do behind the scenes... but it's a cute little reference and shows how petty and clever nicki is with her subliminal disses because the rest of the public may have no idea but the person the diss is directed at will surely know it 😂
and btw the *bleep* part in the song is also a clever way to have the diss be applicable to anyone who hates/hated on her because most of the lines could be applied to most of them 😂
AVAA! Wiz Khalifa made Black and Yellow and that one Fast and Furious song. Waka Flocka Flame did not. He did make Flockaveli which as an album still goes hard even if it can be a bit one note at times. You might've heard some of its big singles, but its hard to say depending how much you were checked out from music at the time.
AAVA: Leaving someone "on read" means you read the message, but choose not to reply. No that it went unread. But in the same vain, you could open a message just to remove the new notification symbol and still never read or reply to it. Lol 😅
AAVA! I also just want to ask, what type of protective sleeve do you put on your physical media? everytime you show a piece of media you have it has one around it, and the handwited label looks sick, i was just wondering what kind of protection it is and where i could get it!
Avaa! I didn't love this album but there are a few highlights that really grew on me after a couple listens. The bangers and the emotional cuts are great but the poppier stuff especially the ones that sample classic songs really don't hit. Didnt hate needle but didn't love it just the blandest thing I've ever heard. Cowgirl made me want to rip my ears off, can't stand those chords repeating the whole track, easily my least favorite on the album I really don't see it. I actually had a positive reaction when I first heard the opening but as the chords keep playing it just loses it for me. Everybody was pretty horrible imo but insane and loud enough that I respect it, love when Nicki gets a little weird anyway. Big difference after that whole section of the album being worse had me moving, definitely my favorite track. Weird that I just micro reviewed 4 consecutive tracks from the middle of the album in the comments here but here we are idk either
Nicki is not best known for the pinkprint. Most people were disappointed in it when it was released actaully. I can't take anyone seriously who actaully thinks that's her better work.
Ive seen a million comments and heard a million references about how the barbs are gonna come for your throat or this and that but you know what i haven't really ever seen?... just a thought wanted to share
17:05 I’m guessing you talking about Nicki Hndrixxx that song is terrible sorry and I’m a Barb but I don’t like it That’s why I give the album 9/10 just before of this song I would much rather the album be 21 / 20 song
obsessed w ur videos, please please please look into and review the melanie martinez trilogy, I would love to hear your opinion on her lyrics and messages :) avaa !
I love this album You can't please everybody. Nicki is a global mega star because of her versatility.

Barb here. Great video and reflections on your experience with her music over the years.
Your awesome, I could feel your emotions, when you talked about your father, I totally agree. AVA❤
Pink Print is more like her self-titled. She gets super introspective & transparent on that album.
avaa: please be careful the fandom doesn't take even the most professional and polite criticism by critics all that well...but have a good day!
I know that’s right. Her fans are dangerous af and honestly nuts. 🥜
I'm a BarB....he is currently doing his reviews in gagcity...He has a valid passport...He's good

Maybe you should try listening to “Queen” for more rap-oriented songs from Nicki.

Love the scarf king
Also I’d like to add that cds are still very very popular in the diy emo world. Cassettes too, but CDs reign over bandcamp and vinyl

Nah, some of us are students of linguistics, we understand grammar.
