I think Tesla released a new update that allows you to control the subwoofer separately with more immersive sound experience. Can you re-test or test the new Model S refresh sound system with the latest software update? Curious to see how it sounds with the updated acoustic glass and quieter cabin.
I have an old car with a custom sound system which includes a 5-channel amp, Alpine midrange, component tweeters, two 6X9" speakers and a 12" Kicker ported sub and this. When I listened to the stock sound system in a 2021 Model Y, b was BLOWN AWAY by the bass, the midrange and the highs. The bass wasn't quite as tight but rumble that you can feel? Yup!
It's actually 15 speakers in total. You missed the tweeter located in the center front windshield next to the midrange. There's 4 speakers in that front windshield area. I have the same car as you but with the induction wheels. I opted into swapping out the factory speakers with the Light Harmonic upgrade. While the factory system sounds great I just felt it was missing some on the midrange punch. The light harmonics sub added a deeper crisp sound as well.
@@krithiksingh3258 no, I don't think you notice it when playing regular music. I haven't gotten my MYLR yet so can't be sure though. But people I have spoken with say they can't tell the difference.
Hi you said in the video that this was the "long term model y standard range". There's 3 trims one is the new standard range, then there's the long range, and the performance. Did you mean this is the long range or is this the standard range? Thanks for the videos I really appreciate the depth you go into!
this review is dependant on what audio device youre recording on, how the audio is rendered/file type, and what speakers we are using to play it. It's just difficult to make an audio review, and us not actually being in the environment.
The model 3 I've had twice for two weekends was the LR M3 and it had an impressive sound system but idk why I felt like I wanted more from it. Slightly lacking in bass for me 🤷♀️
@@christopherrmcg how is your EQ set up? I found the punchy mid bass out of the door woofers to be very weak. The upgrade helped with that tremendously (I can feel the vibrations when resting my knee on the door panel way more now). Also, the LH woofer replacement is excellent! It fixes that low frequency issue your talking about. If you're happy with the whole system except the low frequency response, I'd consider just purchasing the sub from them. It bangs! My license plate frame rattles now lol (gotta fix that!)
@@marshallnotmathers6668 I thought it had plenty of punchy mid bass, for the type of music I listen too which is a mix of everything, once you crank it up it bumps hard. However once you start getting into the deeper sub like bass it is a full sound, but you don't get the same energy or liveliness in the bass as you do with more mid bass, at least to me.
You can definitely hear the echo when you are talking and I agree with the bass being over present some times. I have to say that I'm a bit disappointed compares to some other test you have made with what I though was not as good sound system. I came here eventually, keeping the "best" for the end for being blown away, but I'm not. I though it would be better than what I have in my MX5 even if I like what I have but I am cooled down instead. Since I have been to try one few months ago 5 (I haven't been able to really appreciate the sound though), my interest keeps going down again and again (And I was very high), and the premium sound system was supposed to be another asset.
To say that the bass is overwhelming is incredibly stupid because all you have to do is TURN THE BASS DOWN. Don’t criticize the fact that the system is CAPABLE of producing great bass just because you can’t appreciate it.
@@Mabeylater293when something is unbalanced from the start, any settings won't help that much. The fact that he prefers to turn down all what is supposed to make it magical is even less engaging actually. It might be an attempt for them to do as they have done with wipers and high lights projectors, with, I'm afraid, the same success. A good balanced system doesn't even need you to go to the settings to adjust the sound, but I clearly see that I have hurt some fan feeling who doesn't need more than his god's words, so there is no need for me to go further. PS : And in the new version, there gonna be 2 subwoofers. I'm sure it's gonna help so much for the balance 😂. They clearly know how bass work. I can't wait for the next update with a third one or even more, one per person. 🤣 I'm not sure that it's more necessary than the backup safety chips for essentials systems, but it costs to them, more likely, much less and it's gonna be even brighter, as requested for his adepts like you.
if you buy a sr+ you get a downturned sound system, but via the car app, you can get an upgrade to the premium sound system as it comes with all the speakers installed from factory
@@SKYZO4 That's simply not true. The SRplus sounds decent, but isn't on par with the premium sound system because it misses the premium system amplifier and subwoofer. There isn't an upgrade option via app too.

the model 3s soundstage, and sub bass is much better than the model y actually. hoping to get a model 3 sound test.
