There are so many things coming into The Gettysburg Museum of History on a regular basis that it's impossible to keep up with unboxing videos so we're kicking this off to show what's new to the amazing collection at the museum.

    Thanks for this. I have my great grandfather's wooden canteen with intact bands and screw mouthpiece that I received at age 6 in 1963 from his son, my grandfather. Presumably, my GGF expertly carved a joined "7K" on one side. We always wondered if it was his family cattle brand. He joined Waller's Texas Cavalry in 1863-4 at age ~18 -- along with his father, my great-great grandfather. This brigade fought in the Red River Campaign but we have no documentation of either ancestor's participation. A real treasure even though I consider myself a western yankee.

    Of all the people you would think had civil war artifacts, let alone the Confederate White House curtains, Micky Dolenz from the Monkees wouldn't be one of them lol. Great vid. Amazing pieces. Love Erik's new office. It gives off that old historical vibe. Would love to do my office that way 👍

    I was just there two weeks ago. The Most Amazing museum! We paid to go into three other museums and did not see one 50th of the items in this museum. Not for the faint of heart or soy boys.. True history right in front of you. Amazing pieces from A to Z. Worth the trip all on its own.

    I love reading about the Civil War and how these artifacts from both sides are in relatively excellent condition. I'd love being able to go on excavations looking for artifacts. Thank you for sharing.

    I love these videos. The fact that you did a different take on the unboxing video is really awesome. Eric's temporary office looks great!! I can't wait to see what his new office will look like once the GMOH annex is finished!! Thanks for posting this JD along with all of the other GMOH videos as well as everything else on this channel!! I'm looking forward to the next video for your vacation as well as the GMOH annex grand opening video!! Please tell Eric he's doing such a great job with the GMOH and its annex!!

    I like the new digs and interesting relics. What a find with the provenance from the Confederate Whitehouse. I have a comment about the sound quality. I was wondering if you could try some sound baffling or create some sort of sound trap for that room so it's easier to hear.

      This was our first time filming in the new building and recognized some of the audio issues afterward. The next several videos will be the same but we’ll be making adjustments when I go back for future videos. Thanks!

    Me and the wife, my daughter and boyfriend were in Gettysburg a few years back now, and there was a restaurant that I think was called the gray and blue, and I believe it had a statue of Lincoln out there? Just wondering if that’s still there. And thanks for the interesting videos as usual, hopefully, we will be coming back.

    When i was a child my dad picked up a hitchhiker and when we dropped him off he gave my dad a knife he said he picked up in Vietnam.my dad gave me the knife when i was a teen im 32 now I've just recently cleaned it and looked it up and it's a ww2 combat knife.

      @@danferrell674 - The Route 66 trip was in July. It’d be almost impossible for me to edit in real time so a lot of what you see on the channel is stuff that has already happened.
