Great video with Eric Dorr, JD! 👍🏻🔟 Forrest Guth seems to be the most important factor who brings us together all the time. What a tribute to him and what a great find from the Dead Man's Corner Museum! The signed parachute is a perfect addition for the magnificent Gettysburg Museum of History and the spectacular Easy Company collection! 🤩🎖🏅🥇
Thanks JD for sharing your experience with us. Truly a remarkable show, and the the items that you and Eric got are amazing! Love what you do and appreciate it all very much!! (My Dad was Military Policeman right after the war, stationed in Stuttgart. He had many wonderful stories all the time!)
Thank you JD for sharing this video. Enjoy what you and Erik do in this series and for the history community. Planning to bring a few artifacts home myself from GettysburgMuseumofHistory at the 160th 🇺🇸
The aging of the item's you bought to me show's the authenticity of the Item's , my father in law was a medic in the south pacific and his medics bag and 2 Japanese Rifles he sent home on a gun rack he made , the medic's bag had turned dark brown from the moisture he told of the jungle. I am putting this show on my Bucket list.
Sold bill Shea a 1938-1940 1st SS great coat a few years back. 6 oclock at night and he gave me a personalized tour of what he had at the time. Unbelievable collection and Unbelievablly kind and knowledgable man. He had Dick Winters 42 jump jacket he jumped into Normandy with at the time and my jaw dropped. Man I love this community
JD another great video of the show you were at with Eric. Wish I could have been there too. Really humbled by what our Fathers did to keep us free. Thank you.
Thanks JD for the tour up in Louisville. The show of shows. Looked really very informative and interesting. Thanks for sharing. All this including the Fed Ex box. With parachute signed. ❤️💯
Thanks for "taking us along" who don't have the opportunity to actually go. I think the technical name for the Guth 'chute is "drogue"... at least that's the term for braking chutes on aircraft when landing
Wow. That's pretty amazing the stuff they have there. It reminds me of my uncle who was a Navy Seabee on Okinawa in WW2. His family gave me complete sets of his Navy uniforms a few years ago. He told me some amazing stories Getting Patton's boots is pretty amazing! Thanks for sharing JD.
You guys have made me realize that I need to spend an entire year visiting these museums and shows that you frequently feature. Erik has a passing resemblance to Johnny Depp (Erik is better looking). And Patton's boots remind me of Beatle boots. Great video.
JD & Eric thanks so much for all these video's. My husband was impressed with my new found knowledge on Hitler. Never thought I would be so interested, but the way you two present is awesome. Thanks. I can't wait go back up to Gettysburg and maybe meet Eric.
The knife.. red-neckin' coming in for the assist. Lmao Thanks for the help for the channel, Bill! I love the sense of community against you all. Suuuper cool to see Patton's boots!!! That's really exciting!
17:33: Did you remove de metal plate? My grandfather's "Karabiner 31" (WW2) has his name tag under this metal plate, written with his beatiful handwriting.
Thanks JD for giving us a small glimpse into the world of military collector shows. I see there's a MAX show in September at the York Expo Center. I will have to try and get to that show. On another note, I visited the Gettysburg Museum of History today and that was pretty darn neat. Thanks for the heads up on that place JD. Eric has one cool museum.
Very nice video of the 2023 SOS! It was especially cool to see the gold train eagle that I purchased from the museum!! Its interesting as I asked several people to find a train eagle for me at the show but it looks like Eric cornered the market! At least I know that the sale will contribute to future purchases for the museum! Thanks JD and Eric.
True story. I found a very unique bowl made of iron in an antique shop. Paid 8 dollars for it. Turns out, that it was a battle helmet from Red China circa WWI. My brother now has it.
As I'm watching this, I'm missing my late brother. He was into collecting artifacts and we did a lot of gun shows over the years. He would have loved this show, we would probably hit the place at open and close it down and it would be a big history lesson. My husband would also love it, we were watching it and he got really excited that Eric got Patton's boots, he's a huge fan of the old General. Thanks for the video and great goodies bought.
You do an outstanding, aboveboard job of showing respect to Allies and Axis alike; much appreciated; My father and two of his brothers fought for the American side, and two brothers fought for Germany. While my mother's father and brothers fought for Fascist Italy. After all, all men deserve admiration and respect when they honor and defend their heartfelt beliefs.
Well JD glad you found some nice items for your collection and showed great video from the show. Great interviews as well. Thanks for posting. Look forward to your next video. I've collected ww2 militaria for 45 years. Both US and German helmets and head gear.
Thank you for this wonderful video JD! That's the coolest place! We would love to be here! My son collects WW2 artifacts. He has all my Dads navy stuff. My Dad was at Pearl harbor when it got attacked. He lost alot of mates. He didn't talk much about it. He definitely got PTSD from his years in the Navy.
Fantastic video!!! The keepsake box you purchased is fantastic! Milton Pennsylvania is just thirty miles south of where I live. So humbling to have such items to true collectors.
I've always wanted to go to the show of shows. I have a good sized German military collection. Not as many arm bands as I would like. I like the salty look as well, but I always try to find a clean example when possible. Thanks for showing me what I miss at SOS. 😅😊
When I was younger I walked every isle and table at a SOS I was almost too tired to drive the 70 miles back to Lexington. It is overwhelming what they have, a must for collectors.
Wow J.D, the items that Erik has bought are crazy, even finding them on the open market today is a surprise. Fantastic items including the large eagle and the little hat that goes right back to the early rise of Hitler must be like diamonds in history circles? Never see you as quiet when around Erik when he starts talking. He is just mesmerising when talking about the stories and history of these items, he just silences you also J.D I’ve noticed more and more of the videos you both do together. 😂
Seeing all of the items at the collector show, plus all the stuff that Erik has makes me feel even better about a scrapbook that I just sent to the Museum from the Occupation of Germany period (my dad was drafted and served over there for his term). Hopefully they will add to the knowledge and history!
I always get excited when I see my Division insignia shown. The first WWII steel pot that you showed was 7th I.D. (Red circle with the Black hourglass). I was assigned to the division in the early 90’s at Ft. Ord, Ca.
J.D. Thank you again for helping us all see a little of a bucket list item! Have always wanted to go to the Show of shows. I also love the "saltier" items as well! Please do a video unboxing your awesome box of goodies!! Godspeed!
Love the videos you guys produce ,Thanks JD and Eric, would love to come over and see one of these militaria shows, sadly we are starved of this type of thing down here in Australia, So I will continue living my life through you two guys, Keep up the great work, CHEERS.
General Patton's boots. Wow what a great addition to the museum. Someday when I have the extra cash I would like to find an artifact from the 92nd division Ohio voluntary infantry from the Civil War. My 3rd Great Grandfather and died in Kentucky January, 1864.
Very interesting to see. Saw some of the patches on the uniforms. Maybe some day when you go back to Kentucky you can do a video on Gen Hallock and his burial there thank you for sharing
Some nice additions to both your collections 👍 With a hip that was only a few months old at the time, I wasn't up to walking the floor again this year 😉 We'll see what next year brings.
I LOVE this. I don't dare put myself in your category-but my wife said 'you guys' are just a bunch of dangerous adult adolescents on Christmas Morning.
18:31 I think that's your next video- you buying the balloon basket and taking it home: "J.D. in the Hands of an Angry Mrs. J.D." Sure, it might get a little violent, but if you could get it past the RUclips censors it'd be a sure ratings winner! Just be sure to wear a cup. I always have to mention how much I enjoy the music editing.
Thanks for the video J.D!
Glad that you enjoyed it!
Respect to JD and Eric. The A-Team right here, 👌

Yes. Guth really did us all a great service with all of the things that he collected and brought back after the war.
WOW!! Wicked cool. Thanks for taking us along. 👍😁
My pleasure!
Great, thanks for having us. Greeting from Germany
Holy smokes that parachute is awesome JD!
Thank you JD for sharing this video. Enjoy what you and Erik do in this series and for the history community. Planning to bring a few artifacts home myself from GettysburgMuseumofHistory at the 160th 🇺🇸
Nice! I'm considering going to the 160th myself.
If so , hopefully paths cross and I can meet you to say hello. I’ll be going out there with James from Project Past
Great finds! JD
JD you were 10 mins from me I would've loved to have met you. Big fan in Louisville KY!

Thank you for keeping the stories alive and telling them to the future.
You guys have made me realize that I need to spend an entire year visiting these museums and shows that you frequently feature. Erik has a passing resemblance to Johnny Depp (Erik is better looking). And Patton's boots remind me of Beatle boots. Great video.
Don’t tell Patton! He would likely give you the spur treatment.
@@flouisbailey you're right! I don't think many of those guys would have been thrilled about the Beatles.

Awesome. Thanks for taking me! Thought you bought a helmet?
Great Video as always! I’m originally from Hightstown, N.J. So it was great to see a true piece of history branded with ‘Hightstown’ on it.
Patton's Boots! Wow! Surprised that there were no spurs on them.
Pretty cool artifact.
Dang! Eric looked like a kid showing off his trick or treating stash! I would probably look for books if I were ever to go.

Definitely.
