Ooh, what a treat to see the pianist really get into the music and conduct from his piano bench. I've never seen a concerto where musician does double duty!

WOW! Fantastic composition and fantastic performance. Leroy Anderson is probably my favourite composer but I was not aware that he had written a concert piece such as I've just heard. Thank you so much Walter.

Ausserordentlich musikalisch gespielt. Top.

Dear Walter! I was SO delighted to find your Anderson concerto on RUclips!! It was in 1992 that I attended the performance of Stewart Goodyear and the Cincinnati Pops the night before they recorded it. I then took the piece to Carnegie Hall, Boston Pops, Grant Park, Turkey and finally recorded with Leonard Slatkin and the BBC Concert Orchestra. How did you come to know it? It gives such pleasure to watch and listen to others play it now, twenty years later. You are awesome truly!

You might write to someone at Theodore Presser as they are the sole agents for the piano concerto.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the rich reediness of the clarinets rather than violins!

thanks Manuelo. To be honest I don't remember. But I'm sure if you search the internet you could find a pdf or at least a publisher to purchase the reduction score.

You'll probably need to rent the score. But check with Jeffrey Biegel. He has performed it extensively and would probably know... he commented below.

Im Übrigen ist es für mich die einzige Aufnahme, in der für mich das Zwiegespräch von Trommel und Klavier zu Beginn des dritten Satzes einen Sinn ergibt:)

Who ever Leroy Anderson may have been: from the first bars it reminds me on elements Sergej Rachmaninov used . A few romantic elements also.....Not bad but for sure not a brilliant composition itself. Nevertheless: the Germans performed it pretty good! Nice tune! Thank you for uploading this!
