Nice video! I do have to say that you shouldn’t sharpen the “flat” side of the blades on the clippers. When you do this you make the cutting edges farther apart. Only sharpen the angled edge and then reflatten the flat side to get your sharpness. I hope this makes sense!

Pruning pines will result in sticky resin on your secateurs and maybe on your hands. You can easily clean both with WD40-spray. After removing the resin from your hands with WD40, use some soap.

A friend of mine had his shears from Japan like that, he didn’t know where he had gotten them, thank you so much I clicked on the link to Amazon and ordered a pair! As a professional Arborist we do a lot of pruning and shaping of shrubs and hedges many of which I like to do by hand.

Thanks, very informative. (I will step by step exchange my old ones for theese.) Could you please also include more information about the japanese ladder with three legs you use for pruning larger trees? I would like to buy one. Can I benefit You guys buying the ladder through a Link as well? FYI: My own little japanese garden is progressing very very slowly. Still working on cutting huge furs to let some sun through (will keep almost every large pine tree though) as well as filling out the ground near the lakeshore. All by hand. It will sadly not be visible om YT for a long while.. Hugz from Sweden 🇸🇪

Thank you! We will release a video very soon, where I will be using the ladder again. So, I will include more information then. This video will be released in 2-3 weeks :) Thank you for asking, basically yes, but I do not have a link for the ladder at the moment. That sounds like some progress you are making with your garden. Good luck for the next steps! It must be nice to live by a lake! Hugs from Austria :)

Great vid! I need to invest in better tools. Thanks for sharing. Just a small hint, this vid would benefit from some more closeup clips. 😀👍
