Oh My Goodness, I just started learning this quilling about 3 hrs ago, I have nothing to use for the spinning of the paper so I devised my grand Mothers old needle point cutter from sewing kits, I mean it worked but hard to get the paper off. Then I click on your tool device to make at home, I just made it out of my strong Q-tips and put the paper in and spun it, Then took it off the tip no problem. Thank goodness for your DIY Hack. I can now enjoy doing this with ease and creation. Your now my Fav Diy Hacker.... Love your show and The name is absolutely FABULOUS.... Thank you Sherry
I like teaching quilling to my 7th and 8th grade art students but the tools are expensive to buy, and with only 12 tools used with over 160 students, I was looking for something homemade to substitute for the tool. THANK YOU for posting! I will have to try this one out!
Really genius. I was having a hard time watching those really difficult videos to make a quilling tool. Everybody was showing either a toothpick or match stick. This is very innovative.

That is what I need. I have arthritis and Fibromyalgia so sometimes using just a fowl or toothpick is to difficult for my creaky hands. Such a creative solution. AND, there's wine lol
You could also use the empty center ink tube from a pen. Or if you have the long plastic nozzle from an empty can of compressed air. OMG I am looking around my craft area and looking for the different things I COULD use....lol
My hubby took an old hand file handle, cut the tip off the end of a needle and put them together. Now if I can figure out where the best place is to buy inexpensive quilling paper that would be great! Any favorites? I don't have the patience to cut them myself. TFS love your ideas! :) -Kris
