Heres a tip I learned today after getting two of these delivered.
First, put aside a ziplock bag or container in the freezer, so you can make up multiple ice balls in advance. never worry about running out of your bad ass crystal globes again, this way you'll have many ready to go at any moment.
Secondly, heres the interesting part. Don't let it freeze completely. it becomes MUCH harder to remove when its frozen fully through. Remove it if you can when theres a couple of millimetres worth of ice around the outside with a little sphere of water trapped within. it pops out much easier and wont break as you transfer it to the ziplock bag in the freezer. it finishes freezing in the bag, all while giving you a couple of hours spare to make another in the now unused mould.
Hi, how long roughly did you leave it to part freeze before removing?
Thank you so much for this tip. I left it in for like 2 hours and it came out easy
Instead of filling it to the brim, then putting on the top over a sink with water spilling all over then pouring excess water and then squeezing some of it out, just fill the mold up to the line where the cover meets the mold. You won't have any spillage, the amount will be just right when expanded to give you a full globe of ice.
Bingo
It won’t come out as a perfect sphere, the way to do these is just like he showed. I have the same ones.
Tips:
1) Leave in the freezer for just under 24hrs, this will make it clear and completely transparent.
2) When removing from the freezer let it set for 10/15 minutes and then remove from the mould. This prevents cracks.
3) Put them in a ziplock bag until you need to use them.
👍🏼
Fill to fill line, freeze, squeeze two tabs, ball pops right out. Simple. Follow EASY instructions.
Thank you, that’s exactly what I was wondering.
They have no instructions in the box I got (yesterday, from 99 Cent store for $1.99), BUT you don't need to overfill -- just fill to the fill line. And you don't need to run hot water over it. All you have to do is press the tiny hole as you lift the lid and turn it upside down. Then release your finger from the hole, and the sphere will pop out
ok so this is actually a great product and i like it. thanks for the vid. that hera rail vid was helpful as well. I picked one up for 99 the other week and it a heck of a piece of kit at that price.
I have this.. Easier instead of running water over. Just take a out of freezer let set on counter for 10 minutes.. Comes right out
thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Four of mine arrived today ❤︎
Great choice of whisky.
Do not use faucets with aerators to fill mold. The air causes cloudy, cracked balls.
I don't understand why in America everyone spills so water.
Well doh! there is a fill line marked on the lower container to get the perfect sphere.... It´s moulded into the plastic and it says "Fill to this line"
Oh, and never put ice in Whisky, only whiskey...
Anyone know how to prevent these ice spheres from breaking in half as soon as it's submerged in liquor?
Maybe spring water or filtered water.
Put the sphere in last, after you pour your drink
@@Cowb0yDan or just as good is to wait a minute or two before pouring
Great video. Thanks for making it.
Why does it melt so fast??? anyone knows???
I want these for my hydro flask!!! But these are 2.5", the wide mouth on my hydro is 2". 😭
I think i didn’t wait that much for the ice ball to freeze and didn’t put enough water, cause mine ended up being like a cracked egg. Like only the shell…completely hollow inside lol
So you wasted 10 gallons of water to make a single ball of ice, interesting.🤔
Dewers and cube!👍
You can't just put the water through the hole when u feel it up with water ?
2 yrs later but nooo that makes it so hard lol I did both ways this way was easier but dont fill the cup just to the fill line or where the two molds meet
Nice. Thanks for the video
日本のウイスキーというので見に来ました
As long as my whisky doesnt change at all its taste for using traditional ice cubes, then I really dont need to use an ice sphere. What japanese should do is to search ways on how to elaborate better quality whiskys (only hibiki is worth paying its price)
Wow ,I buy 4 and I the not how the work, Now I no Thank 🌸💗💗💗💘💘💘
I can’t believe there’s actually a video to show people how to use this…… Our society has no common sense
I'm sorry, but for 100€ I can use cubes or stones :S.
Who said these are €100??? They average range from €7-€30 depending how many you want in the tray
not good design, took too much time to get the ball out.
Your video is too long and full of inconsequential and frivolous information. Not to mention, the wrong way to fill and release the ice ball.
Use distilled water 💧 for gods sake
Why? I have these what does distilled water do?
@@danightryder nothing he’s saying that so the cube comes out clear but I tried it and it came out the same
Omg tooôooo much explaining and talking
I have these and dont like em at all. Ice is always cloudy and cracked, explodes as soon as drink hit it. One big ball quickly becomes 2 or 3 chunks.
Got a wintersmiths and will never go back
What a bloody waste of water. I can’t believe people are so clueless...
Too much waste of water
You're right, it does waste a lot.
@@petervonpanda not the mold, YOU waste to much water with the tap open! 🤦♂️
