    I use the same soil and bark mix but I do add some cactus and succulent mix as well. I do thirds of each and it does very well. The sand in the cacti mix just arriates even more. But I am in South Texas with high humidity so it works for me!!! Love the videos. 💚💚💚

      They are great! I have them for at least 3 years, and they still look brand new even though I use them for soil.

    That’s so cool that you found that orchid mix! I’ll have to look for it!
    I’ve been using Hoffman’s Organic Cactus and succulent Mix and add regular orchid bark, pumice (instead of perlite) and Bonsai Jack Succulent mix and then I bought charcoal but I’ve recently run out of charcoal…
    I just purchased vermiculite and I’m going to try that with my Red Maranta and Peace Lilies since they like to stay moist…
    Thanks for sharing - I’ll look into the orchid mix you recommended! 💜💚🌵🪴

    Its a great idea to use orchid mix good ingredients and I appreciate you use of potting soil. Its clean and some hoyas need that....great to transition the baby plants. I really enjoy learning from you especially when you repot. So if you don't mind showing that I would really like to see you in that reality program.

      That's terrific ! Really you don't see that on other channels often...but please if its not something you feel is right don't do it for me. I just repotted after noticing I had a rooted cutting that was not going to survive much longer. It was due to my improper planting. Now it stands a chance. Thank you Elena.

    Hi, this was very helpful. Thank you. I have a baby Mathilde hoya , my first . Haven't reported it, maybe in a few months so looking for a mixture like this. You think this would work?. Thank you dear

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  Год назад +2

      Absolutely! All of my Hoyas are growing in that mix and they are doing very well including Mathilde 😊. If soil is well draining in your Hoya right now you can leave it for a while. Only re-pot when it’s outgrown its pot. Hoya’s like to be in small pots 💚.

    Hello. Is this the medium you used for the Hoya LInearis propagation video of two years ago where you are wearing a black t-shirt - some in peat and and a white pot with many cuttings

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello. Yes, if I propagate Hoyas straight into a permanent pot like linearis that I plant it in white pot I propagate in that medium. The key is to give enough heat light and humidity. I kept it in my grow tent until it rooted or I would put it in the propagation box on the heat mat. Small cuttings I prefer to propagate in coco coir and vermiculite mix.

    It's me again and nobody cares that soil by me and for one plant I don't want to get it shipped. Could I just use the Orchid mixture alone. I have organic soil straight soil I use for my vegetable and herbs . What do you think??. Oh also I have Cactus soil. Thanks

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  Год назад +1

      As I mentioned in my video, it doesn’t have to be that exact soil, also for some reason on Amazon it is quite expensive 🤷‍♀️. Any soil would work but just to be on the safe side I would use cacti soil with orchid bark since cacti soil is very well draining.
